man Im from sulphur springs which is about 3 or so hours outside of this town. We are a 4a high school band and made our highest place in history at area this year @ 9th. My band director has told me a lot about you guys and how you're the cream of the crop. I never saw you guys perform until now and man, am I ever impressed. Im just glad we didn't have to face you at state this year.

    This show is amazing!
I can't believe this was your first contest. The marching looks really hard, but you execute it really well!
And your color guard is beast:)
Best of luck to all of you this season! Too bad you can't win state again this year!

Well, in the meantime, I wish DSHS band much success. I talk to lots of parents about what their kids get out of marching band (and other music programs), and it is a long, long list of impressive positives. I pay for 2 scholarships for kids to go to Junior Fifers and Drummers Camp in the summer - always a sellout - and hope I can do more. Go Tiger Band!

@BruisingTaints - all our trombones march baritones, plus we have 4 marching euphoniums, which look similar to the baritones, but bigger (can you find them? lol). The sousaphones are all tuba players.
Thanks for the good luck wishes! We're off to Friendswood in a few hours!

dshsbandgeek, Do the concert trombones play baritones and sousaphones during marching season?
10 sousaphones for a band of this size is awesome. Great sound. Wish you guys good luck at Friendswood and Westlake.

What an awesome band...did you guys go to the USSBA nationals in Annapolis? Or do you ever go to the BOA grand nationals in Indianapolis?
