Great detailed review! Have been looking for a more durable headphone for my kids who swim competitively and for the family when we want to be in nature around water without fear of damaging the headphones and having open ears to stay aware of surroundings. Thank you!
Glad you found useful. Hope the kids will like headphones too 😊
Although slightly let down by the lengthy file transfer process and the limited playlist options, the Runner Diver sounds to offer excellent versatility for a wide range of situations and different environments. Thank you for another outstanding review, Andy! 👍
I don’t know why neither of these manufacturers (not just Naenka) can come up with more convenient ways for transferring files over to their headsets…but thanks as always Z😊
Fantastic review!! I wanted earphones i could swim with but also pair with my smarwatch on land. Just found them!
These are one of the very few options for such mixed use 👍
Great review. Thanks.
Glad you liked it Phil 😎
thanks for the review just got these for $90 USD on sale right now
Have you experienced any issues after 6months of use? (I'm just curious should I buy)
Andy, first of all, your production quality is *TOPS* _Seeing that the Sonys are not available anywhere_ what is your next favorite choice for waterproof + Bluetooth capability? Thank you for such great reviews!
I'm not sure this particular model is for me.
I guess these would be my second best option if you need both Bluetooth connection and a fulyl waterproof design
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The TechnicSys SEAHORSE / Naneka is one if the best if not the ultimate open free bone conduction headphones you can buy on the market.🤘👍
Hi, I absolutely loved the review Andy! Just wondering, from sound quality perspective, which one do you think is the best between sony ws623 and naenka runner diver? Also, can shokz open run pro be used for swimming? Thanks in advance!
In terms of sound quality the Sonys are much better and sophisticated than any bone conduction headphones out there. The Openrun Pro cannot be used for swimming unfortunately. Shokz have a separate model, the OpenSwim that is fully waterproof and also comes with onboard storage for offline use
The appearance of this headphone is very distinctive. But in terms of sound quality and wearing comfort, I think Shokz Openrun Pro may be better. Of course, Shokz's price is also more expensive. I have another suggestion, which is Wissonly Hi Runner. The product's performance and price are both nice.
Seems to be a great product at all, but its MP3 system could be better. I guess Sony NW-S413 are the best in that feature. However, seems something worth overall. Great review!
The Sony have a better music player on board with a more sophisticated set of features. But copying files is still a pain in the butt. However those headphones are in-ear, not open-ear and that’s a major difference
Hi Andy,
I was wondering how these compare to the Shockz openwater ( aka aftershokz xtrainers)?
looking to invest in a pair for swimming. Comfort and sound quality/volume are probably the most important factors for me.
would love to know which one you would recommend
Cheers!
I would have loved to compare the two but unfortunately my Xtrainerz broke so I could not. But based on distant memories, the Naenka have a more snug fit which some might deem less comfortable than that of the Shokz. I like it though. And there is the BT connection and the larger flasherive too. Not sure about the sound though but kind of similar in both cases
The Amazon link doesn't work
Hi, cool review really enjoyed to find out and device. But still didn’t realized, can I connect it with my Apple Watch for streaming music while swimming??? Really appreciate you 🙏
Not sure if an Apple Watch will work with the Naenka. I don’t have one to test…
i have just come across your video when looking for some reviews about this headphones. it was of great help listening to it. but looking at the naenka website i found the UPDATED RUNNER DIVER BONE CONDUCTION SWIMMING HEADPHONES....are they the exact same you are talking about here?
thanks
I haven’t a clue. They could have updated something since my review but I tested the headphones back when they first came out
Hello, I’m having trouble with the mp3 mode on my runner divers. It doesn’t work. I double press the power button but the songs I put in don’t play. What is the voice prompt for mp3 mode? Are my headphones defective?
When switching to mp3 mode the voice prompt says “music” and then it starts playback automatically. Only .flac and .mp3 files are supported. If you have .flac files maybe the bitrate is too high and not compatible with the headphones
Hi Andy,
Love your review particularly that you wear them in the elements for which they are intended.
I would really appreciate your input regarding the most suitable BONE CONDUCTING headphones, like these for still water and surfing on a SUP. I was looking at these or the Shokz open swim due to their waterproof ratings and being able to secure them with a hat.
Many thanks in advance
Thanks Justin 👍 I would pick the Naenka over the Shokz due to its more versatile set of features (mp3 & BT vs mp3 only on the Shokz). and I also found the Naenka more snug around the ears and that might be something you'll appreciate when surfing
@@AndysTechTone thank you. Fantastic!
Can I just ask one further thing? Some feedback has been repeat uses in water have caused heating issues etc and not working properly etc. like after 2 swims. have you repeatedly tested these? Thoughts?
Thank you in advance
@@justinmather7055 I used the headphones for swimming a couple of times without issues. Not even sure how could the earbuds overheat in water to be honest.
Just wondering, bought the runner diver, 4 computers will not even recognise, cannot put any songs at all, tried emailing help no luck, would you have any suggestions? Cheers
Thanks, Andy.
How do these compare to SonyWs623?
Those are in-ear buds, they sound better but also block your ear canals
u know of a bone conduction set that works for swimming and can rewind and fast forward?
Not sure if that feature exists in offline mode
I love its soft lines, this design seems to have won the Red-dot Design Award in Germany, where they use the brand NANK, they may be from the same company😂😂
They must be the same and they indeed win a Red dot award
Can i use it in the ocean i'm a surfer and i was wondering if they can survive waves
That’s hard to tell without testing and unfortunately I cannot really do that myself…
Hi Andy, these have no shuffle function?
Not that I know of… 😳
is there a demo in this video?
What do you mean?
I bought a piece of Runner Diver and that device is dead 2 weeks after. It seems to the power button are clue with the body, and the device doesnt- turn on.
I had the same issue with 2 pairs of the runner diver. I really enjoyed them when they worked, the power button failed both times. Sigh.
Do not buy these. Mine stopped charging after 6 months and the company won't recognise the 12 month warranty because I bought them on Amazon
I liked very much your review. Gift me one.plz
