The original strap on the veto MP2 kept coming undone so I modified the pouch with a hub from a toughbuilt clip tech pouch #veto, #vetomp2, #vetomp2modification #toughbuilt
I had the snap break on my veto and bought the same pouch you used as a donor(which i hate), then had the bright idea to do exactly this. Great minds think alike, thanks for posting the proof of concept
I am glad I could help. I have over 150 videos all about tools. A lot of toughbuilt and Veto tool pouches Please consider subscribing if you haven’t I appreciate the watch either way
@@THETIMINATORTHETOOLMAN I just recently purchased the ToughBuilt belt and pouches as well as the 16inch rolling box and saw this as a great addition. Subscribed!
@@THETIMINATORTHETOOLMAN got my pouch in yesterday. Planning on seeing how it works without the alteration of the clip if I don’t like it I’ll add it in there. Thanks again.
To keep the snap from unsnapping just apply epoxy snap together wait 24 hours and you re good to go. But I really like that mod going to do it for my EDC. I love your videos, really good unbiased reviews
The modification is respectable but it happens that both the hook paste and the pin that goes on the strap deteriorate as the days go by due to the weight of whatever the kangaroo is carrying and I say this because it has already happened to me on two occasions. For the rest, the video is respectable.
I’ve been thinking about doing this to some of my smaller pouches. I’m glad you did it, it looks good. What size drill bit did you use to drill out the rivets? Thanks
I believe it was an 1/8” bit. Hold the bit up to the rivet and see if it covers most of the center of the rivet. Drill them and they will pull right off. I used #6 screws, washers and nuts. But you can go back with rivets if you desire.
The green screwdrivers are commercial electric brand 1000v and I bought them from Home Depot . I have the entire set of lineman plyers, side cutters and needle nose plyers. Thanks for watching, commenting and possibly subscribing
The clip tech clip on that one eventually broke since I loaded the crap out of the pouch. That’s why I put it into the toughbuilt pouch and can move it from the pouch with no faster pockets to the pouch that has two fastener pockets
Those Toughbuilt utility pouches don't come with a hub anymore, they have a metal belt hook. I'll have to find another small pouch with a similar sized hub that I can butcher!
That’s correct- it hurts....... those are too expensive to do that. I still have not replaced them. Thanks for watching and commenting. If you subscribed to my channel, thank you fir that as well😀👍
Since I got it second hand and I don’t think the warranty ever got registered, I was having issues with the snap holding. I did that a couple years ago and it’s still going strong
I don’t understand why you wouldn’t just warranty the Veto pouch if there was a defect. Obviously wasn’t how they were all made, you just got unlucky. Seems better than making that abortion
Nah man if you look around the internet the rivet wearing is pretty inevitable, especially of you're stuffing your bag & using the snap all day. I'm lucky enough to have the tools to replace the snap when it inevitably happens, but they need a more durable snap or some other kind of mechanism to close it.

Thanks again !!
nuts&bolts work great on the bigger hubs, but I use rivets on the smaller ones. Toughbuilt should also sell the hub types separately.
Excellent tip. Thank you for sharing.
I've been doing similar stuff with my set up 🙋♂️ good job with yours 👏

@@THETIMINATORTHETOOLMAN already ticked all 3 👌

I did that with my tp4b but it was just too big. This is a perfect fit.👍

I like the 6-1 strippers but the 7-1 lineman strippers are absolutely ideal for electrical

For safety concerns, the clip is 👍🏽. If that happens to mine... I'm headed to a leather shop and replacing the buttons. I really like the button loop.

Good job I hope toughbuilt is watching!
And veto too
I did this whit the rack a tier pouch.

That’s weird because I just recently got a second pouch like the one I took the hub off of from Lowe’s
@@THETIMINATORTHETOOLMAN My bad, it's a new pouch. Lowes seem to be one of very few places that stock it.
Why not using rib bets
I didn’t have my rivet gun available and wanted to get it done on my lunch hour. It works either way.
