He earned the right to wear that uniform and the corps tell's him where to not wear and wear his uniform. No mention if the ignorant bride ask any women who were prettier or who could dance better was asked to leave. Here's a thought!,,,, maybe the groom was rhe one with the issue and she asked because he didn't have the guts. In that case she is going to have to have his trousers altered
If he didn't get a wedding invitation, why was he there? As long as I've known, invitations are sent out to attend weddings.
A vet should never have to be treated this way...........
Civilians realize that we go to balls every year, right? The "squared away" military ball, is more formal than most people experience in life. You look and have to look like a million dollars, or you get rolled up by higher ups.
Then you factor in the Marines, and the standards go even higher than the Army with dress standards.....after all....Marines are known for two things.
Being the prettiest person in the room
And eating crayons
Hooah? ;)
@@rachmae4180 let's flip it. Just like how you were appalled at how some people came dressed informally the bride was appalled he came dressed in full uniform. No context. No preamble. Just full uniforms with medals etc at a wedding. That's inappropriate...and she didn't want it in her event. An event she and the groom worked hard to prepare and pay for. Rude for her to embarrass him like that but rude of him to come dressed like that.
*more formal than most people in the last 30 years experience
What Marine says Hooah? I damn sure don't. OOH RAH maybe.
@@jeremymartin9241 >.> When's the last time you heard a Marine calling other Marines crayon eaters? Army tanker here, through and throughout. Silly Marine...
@@Splexsychiick What if he couldn't afford to rent a suit? Or if the wedding was last second and no stores near him had suits to rent within that time frame 🤷♀️. I can see where the SGT was saying that, if it's not a military event and he didn't get permission from the couple. But I feel like there were a lot of factors involved in this story that we don't get to hear, as we only get to hear it from the brides POV. It is her big day and she should be happy, but I also feel like if people adored her from the beginning, she wouldn't have had to worry about a marine stealing the spot light. And she drew more attention to the marine after she kicked him out. They probably weren't even paying a lick of attention honestly. Looking at a uniform gets boring after a while, NGL
When I got married two years ago, one of my buddies he is a 🇺🇸 US Marine, I invited him and I told him to wear his service dress at our wedding. My bride who is my wife now, she didn’t mind for the contrary she feel honored as well as me. As part of the ceremony he escorted my bride to my father in law and then to the altar it was a beautiful and memorable wedding. He even stay afterwards at the reception. Everybody was impressed with him as well. But regardless nobody was bother or offended. They were honored to have somebody like him around us. I take the side of the this US Marine soldier and thank you for your service. Semper Fi. God Bless.
PS: For that wedding I feel sorry for the groom and for the guests there were there attending there. As for the bride, learn about the culture of the US Marines Corps and US Armed forces so you can learn and understand what everybody goes through and what they have to do to achieve even their Service Dress Uniform. Education is the key of success. God bless.
You said it well, I served in the Air Force securing nuclear weapons, the investigation the FBI does on you to even think of making such a position is so deep, Anyone thinking being in a military uniform is easy should go ahead and enlist and complete basic military training, then come talk about it!!!! I would be honored to have a Marine in my wedding!!!!
They are just so jealous, cause his Marine uniform is very attractive, and it can beat any civilian outfit out there, OORAH Devil Dog, Semper Fi!!
Why are you surprised the "internet is divided"? Lots of Pajama Boys on the Web....and Karens.
An entire generation of American veterans from Vietnam could not wear a uniform in civilian society without being derided.
Husband should have left her at the alter
Well he should be allowed to wear dress blues there because he earned the title of a Marine. The bride wants to put others down because he attracted more attention? No, so if Lady GaGa or a famous celebrity comes to her wedding, the bride kicks them out? Doesn’t make any sense, if anything and you want attention to all be on you, it’s like inviting only homeless people so no one’s attention is on them and it’s all on you.
At the funeral of my beloved wife, our grandson wore his Marine Blues uniform. He wore it, not to gain attention, but to honor his grandmother. It added dignity to a very sad event.
Everyone should have left the wedding.
Military wear their formal uniform to black tie events. That’s how it is. Few bad for whoever married this woman
It's not just some black tie event. It's a wedding. You don't wear *full* uniform at someone's wedding just because you feel like it. Its rude and disrespectful. You wear it if they ask you to or if they tell you it's ok. Even if the bride or grooms is a former soldier it would still be weird because they chose not to wear their uniform for their ceremony. Don't take someone's special day to show off all your shiney medals. It's a prick move. Etiquette dictate that you do not try to upstage the bride and groom.
Don’t be a fucking boot. It’s not a military event. Time and place matters.
You never show up the bride. That's been a rule for centuries.
She could have gotten medals too if she would have signed up for the military 😎
I have 6 of them from the Air Force and you can bet I earned them, she would have been washed out the first day of Basic Training because the Drill Instructors do get ALL of the attention!!!!
My father is a Marine he’s a Corporal. This is unacceptable.
Ladies love a man in uniform
What is she 6 years old needing all that attention?
For most soldiers, the class A uniform is the first and only suit they own. Maybe rent a suit for an event like this.
Narcissist bride. Red flag for the groom.
It's their wedding and the day is THEIRS
The bottom line is it was immature of her to ask him to leave.
“You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”
If I was the husband I would have yelled "I DON'T!"
My childhood friend and his bride INSISTED I show up to their wedding in my Class A's. I was going to wear just slacks and a sports coat which I changed into before I went to the reception. When I arrived at the church people in the parking lot thought I was in a foreign military because they had never seen a standard paratrooper Class A setup. Realizing I may be a distraction I sat in the back away from everyone. When I arrived at the reception I was surprised at how many people were disappointed that I wasn't wearing the uniform.
That woman was the definition of "Bridezilla/Narcissist". My sympathies to her husband.....
I am an Army Vet. That is total BS.
I understand this women's point, as he didn't inform the bride. Although not asked to leave a wedding in my Army ASU (Blues), it irked my cousin's wedding.
I can see both sides of the argument
How?
Lol what!? How do you see both sides? How was the Marine being "immature." Lol. Sounds like the bride is immature and needs to come down to reality. That's insane. There is no "seeing both sides" to this... in my opinion.
Well I see it this way, I can choose to put the effort to put on my dress blues and risk getting attention or allow the bride to have the 100 percent attention by not putting on my uniform. I wouldn't put my uniform on for anybodys wedding. Its her day, let it be, who gives a f*ck. But yes it was a little immature she kinda shined a bad light on herself.
@@silence227B why should you be worried about drawing any attention to yourself? That's the point I'm trying to make....well that and how could a person be so petty/self-conscious/attention seeking to think that a person in their dress uniform takes the spotlight away from them? Lol. If I were the groom, I would've ran for the hills after witnessing that.
@@rodneygreenway982 lol ur right about that, it raises alot of red flags. I would say its more like if I knew the person was petty I would do what I can as to not step on her toes. But at the same time I wouldn't accociate with someone so thin skinned, but now a days it seems its unavoidable so I've some what accepted that I will need to cater to their "needs".
With everything that devil dog has went through for our country, and she has the audacity to kick him out. So disrespectful. She should be honored to have a United States Marine attend her wedding, let alone where his snazzy well-earned dress blues.
So disrespectful. I’m 15 and I want to join the army/marines or the AF when I’m 17
Im not American and Im nauseous from level of disrespect toward US military service members
The bride was wrong for kicking the Marine out of the wedding
Would've left her at the Alter. If I was the Groom.
THIS IS STILL AMERICA!!! I'LL WEAR WHAT I WANT!!! HOPE HE TOOK BACK HIS GIFT.
The bride was/is the immature person in this situation.
I agree that the marine had a right to be in uniform. Would this bridezilla have felt differently if it was a woman in military uniform?
He had no right to be dressed like that. It was a private none military event. A wedding. There was no reason for him to come dressed like that. If the bride wanted him in full uniform they would have said so. I've seen weddings with military friends and family dressed in full uniform. He should have asked if it would have been ok (he didnt). Since it's a private event...a wedding they had every right to kick him out of it for what ever reason they felt was just. Its rude to upstage the bride and groom on their wedding day.
@@Splexsychiick he did have a right to be dressed like that. Sure they also have a right to kick him out but the way I see they're just jealous
@@augustuslunasol10thapostle I feel like people like you don't often get invited to these sort of social events. I guess it would be the bride and groom fault as well if someone showed up in a bird suit. It's not like they told guest _not_ to wear a bird suit. It's common sense. Social norms, etiquette and all that jazz. Common sense ain't always common I suppose. Not like he was the only marine or military man at the event...yet he was the only one decked out. Yet it doesn't ring off to you that he was the problem. He had no good reason to come dressed like that. None what's so ever. Not having anything else to wear isn't even a good excuse.
@@ProGamerKid2000 you say jealous as if that's a bad thing. Do you even know what it means?
@@Splexsychiick ok macho internet tough guy I bet you get invited to this stuff all the time dont ya? You must be a really fun person to be around.
A simple solution that completely avoids the "wear/don't wear" debate, just ASK the couple. It's THEIR wedding after all. Nothing wrong with appreciating military service, but that's not what the event is about, just ask and avoid the entire debate in the first place, why is something as simple as TALKING so hard for people? Geez...
It’s probably the only formal dress he owns! Why bother buying a suit when you have one of those?
Black tie optional means Formal strongly encouraged.
Everything a good citizen should do.Thank them and take pictures.
Fuck off you bootlicker piece of shit!
Is there a gofundme page for the groom's divorce lawyer fees?
As a decorated combat Marine , I can say that bridezilla was mad because she looked at that Marine and saw everything her new husband wasn't.
Yes sir! Thats for sure!!
@@cleosoratorio9848Absolutely correct! Much love from Europe ❤️
She was wrong! That uniform is formal dress. Grow up!
Marine wrong for showing up like that.
Bride wrong for kicking him out.
But bride’s perogative.
Exactly
Upstaging the bride on her wedding day is VERY uncool! She is right. Says a vet!
If I was at a wedding and I would see them ask him to leave I would leave.......and she could enjoy her day that he and others like him protected......
Go figure a woman upset a man taking her spot light. The husband should of walked out
Nope! She needs to get over herself!
Full Dress is for military functions. I was taught that Mess Dress is for social occasions. Mind you, USMC Mess Dress has more bling than she could possibly handle.
She is the only one that is insecure and completely selfish! Any vet that agrees with that bride is no vet at all!!
Just returning from Vietnam in 1970, as the groom I was married IN MY USAF DRESS UNIFORM. My new wife like it.
