I met Kim Carnes after an intimate concert at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. She was so sweet and personable. Got her autograph and and picture taken with her and she invited me to her next show, which was in Atlanta. What a lovely lady!
Kim Carnes has a great career. She won 2 Grammy Awards (“Bette Davis Eyes” and “I’ll Be Here Where The Heart Is”) and 8 nominations. She penned songs to Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand (including the duet “Make No Mistake, He’s Mine”), Kenny Rogers (“Gideon” album feat. the hit duet “Don’t Fall In Love With A Dreamer”), Brenda Lee, Dottie West, Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, etc. ❤❤❤❤❤
I recently gained a new appreciation for her after watching the We are the world documentary on Netflix...she's such a down to earth person. Her music is so catchy, wish more people appreciated her and recognized her more than just her number 1 hit Bette Davis Eyes....so much to to her career than just that one song
Christopher Cross yes, but not Kim Carnes. She was an early and improbable MTV superstar. I think without the ‘80s, she wouldn’t have found the popularity she did.
“Deep Inside My Heart” with prominent backing vocal by Kim Carnes. It became a hit in the United States during the summer of 1980, reaching #22 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was a bigger hit in Canada, where it reached #12.
I find this so disrespectful. Kim Carnes made the Billboard Top 40 many times, and you’ve done great if you make the Top 40. When Aretha Franklin made the Billboard Hot 100 at number 77 it was made into a big deal! Kim Carnes was also superstar enough to be invited to participate in the “We Are The World” song for Africa famine relief, along with Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Bette Midler, Cyndi Lauper, Bruce Springsteen, and many other top artists.
Kim Carnes had several hits between 1976-1992 as “Don’t Fall In Love With A Dreamer” (#4), “More Love” (#10), “Voyeur” (#29), “What About Me” (AC#1), “Crazy In The Night” (#15), etc.
She penned songs to Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Andy Williams, Brenda Lee, Big Mama Thornton, Kenny Rogers (all tracks from “Gideon” album), Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, Tim McGraw, etc.
She has 25 hits on Billboard charts as performer and several as songwriter. She sung with several artists as Kenny Rogers, Gene Cotton, Smokey Robinson, Rod Stewart, Tina Turner, Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond, Usa For Africa (“We Are The World”), etc.
Bette Davis Eyes will always take me back to the summer of 1981. I was 14 and it was all over the radio!
I was 13 & couldn't get enough of it! It's on my Spotify playlists!😎👍
you missed kim's small part in "we are the world"

Good times!😀
Yes, she is down to Earth. Great artist. I attended her concerts in Argentina, Chile and USA.
One of the most underrated artists of the past 50 years.

She puts a lot of new singles on her Spotify account!!!
She sang on "We Are The World"
“When Weee… Stand together as oooone!” ❤
When the 80s found its identity, artists like Kim and Christopher Cross were tossed aside.

Unfortunately
1985 she sang with Jimmy Barnes on his hit song I'd die to be with you tonight. Great match as both have husky voices.
"Invitation To Dance" was wonderful Chic-y disco that should have been a big hit.
Cactus Jill and I were practicing a couple of duets today. Great songwriter, amazing vocals!
That is awesome!
What happened to Kim Wilde?
She was 45 when Betty Davis eyes came out? WOW! Damn sexy woman. 😻 I was a teenager!😮
No Randy Meisner mention?

Yes ! "She has Bette Davis Eyes" ! Have that album, in MFSL... great ! ( Was she not married to Kenny Rogers for awhile ???
Saw her open for David Cassidy in 1971.
She also wrote songs to David Cassidy.
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Molly Hatchet next?
They're all dead, end of story. Don't be fooled by the cover band currently touring under the MH name.
Interesting video!
Glad you think so!
Probably a botched tonsillectomy.
I think her cold must have cleared up or something.

This is hot❤❤❤❤
In my eyes she was a one hit wonder with a song I can’t stand
And how successful have YOU been ?
One hit wonder, which I like. 😎
you seem bitter Debbie. if you watched it then you'd see she has had a pretty good career in the music business.
25 hits as performer and several as songwriter.
“Folk” is pronounced FOWK. There is no “L” pronunciation. Similar to “walk”.
Sorry, the L isn't silent in walk or folk unless you were raised in the woods.
@@daves4645 lol
Bathically a one hit wonder.

@@guilhermecorrea527 Are you sure?
