So I got it it is awesome. A true one tool option if needed and the sheath is great too . i put leather honey on all my sheaths and plan on using snow seal on top of that. I will also use a smaller knife in my kit too. Trying to make up my mind which one maybe a Bark river Bravo in M4 . Great Job designing this one Chris.
Great video! I see Mike Stewart recommending the JX5 on Facebook often. I use mine every chance I get, great balance. Its the only knife I need in the woods!

Bark River makes amazing knives and I love love love love this design, I would literally buy it tomorrow....except the sheath. You HAVE to upgrade the sheath, which adds another $200 to the price.
Atlus does good sheaths that aren't terribly expensive.

I know the Jessica line is over, but I keep thinking about the Bushbat. We need a Streetbat, and an Everydaybat lol. What I'm talking about is the angled handle, with the UltiClip. It doesn't even have to be a Karambit style handle, or have a ring. It would work with something like the Random Knife Company ####23, with that 45 degree angle. I don't know what you have planned, but there's just so much potential with that UltiClip, and carrying a fixed blade in the "folder" spot. Love your stuff Chris!

Bark River. I have long lusted after a Bark River. Unfortunately whenever I have the USD for a Bark River and go to order one from anywhere...they are always sold out. Bark River tools are just THAT GOOD! BR cannot seem to make them fast enough there seems to be so much demand...

Have you seen the Bark River Ultra Lite Hunter 2. I got one coming in the mail and it seems like a pretty good all around knife, possible edc.
Hey Chris just got the knife I love it it's going to take awhile to get used to the leather sheath can you send me some info on where I can get a good quality Kydex sheath with attachments such as fire Steel and maybe adding a smaller knife to the same sheth

Maybe when my Jess-X (second run) breaks, which it never will. The only reason I'm sticking to that is because I spent almost $200 on the custom sheath. No matter what anyone says about it now, its still a beast and I beat the shit out of it. I would trade the Jess-X w/C2GFAB sheath for the JX5 if anyone is interested though.

I have been really considering this knife. I have talked to pink G10 about his bigger bark river knives and this one seems to chop better than most of the other bigger BRKs. Though pink and I felt like the ones that do out chop it are not as versatile.

While I am awaiting and watching a ton of JX-5 videos (few times each) some questions pop out.
As I am living in Europe, I will not be able to get advantage from the great lifetime warranty BRK are providing so I wanted to ask you for advise. What kind of sharpening should I use in future when I need my knife sharpened without damaging the awesome edge from the factory.
I am using edge pro for my folders and shorter knives but for this one I don't think this will be suitable having in mind the convex edge of the JX-5!

Chris, watch all your videos, buy some stuff you recommended. sucking over. We cannot predict how or for what purpose we will use our knives. Knife guards were invented for a reason, to stop our hand from slipping onto the blade. All my big knives have guards. My folders have grooved handles to stop hand slippage. good luck with your knife, miss the lawn .... chook
