- This movie is my absolute favourite in terms of action fight between huge things. The amount of details, the effort, the CGI, the horeography... Simply brilliant. I love this movie! Which is why I collected the scenes I like the most to show you guys.

The way they delivered: "Category 5. The first one ever." really sets the huge tension of power scale. Uprising just ditched it entirely with no tension at all.
It was the first and the last. Slattern is the only known Category 5 Kaiju.

I think its bc there is no sense of danger and the fact that the characters are damn childeren. I mean, they destroy more of the city than the kajiu ffs
@@sebastiaankrul2403 couldn't have put it better myself. It didn't feel like they were fighting for their life or the fate of humanity. The kids were laughing amongst themselves and flipping the middle finger to the Kaijus, literally. And now apparently pretty much anyone can drift with anyone.
On the other hand, in the original movie, Mako, a trained Jaegar pilot who aced the training program, couldn't handle the pressure of the drift the first time around.
When Stryker and Gypsy release you get a real feeling like this is it, all or nothing.
The last two Jaegers in the world, the last hope for Earth’s survival.
And the fact their pilots are fully aware of the fact they're likely not coming back alive.

Irl building a Jaeger is impossible for instance but in the og movie, they made them so that it's realistically slow with striker being slightly faster due to superior tech. But even so, the movie makers didn't go overboard with striker's speed.
1628 tons. Far lighter than anything we have seen before. It makes sense why it will move this fast. Better reaction control+more powerful motivators pistons and rotors+sleek frame and light Weight. Is mk Vll jaeger makes sense. The others on the other hand... Bracer is fucking heavy are you serious? Striker weighs 1850 tons. Still kinda a big difference.

The way Gipsy Danger kills both lesser kaiju with one arm reminds me of Optimus Prime's final stand against Sentinel and Megatron. Giant robot with one arm and a melee weapon never fails.

3:24-3:26, if you look closely at the hand that's holding the sword, you can see that it slightly opens from the sheer amount of power it's taking too hold up that one arm so it would go through the Kaiju. Almost like on monkey bars when you're about to lose your grip so you hold on stronger. Really great detail.

I love the detail when Gipsy and Striker get released from the helicopters; Striker immediately starts walking without any sign of unstableness, due to Striker being a mark 5. While Gipsy, she stumbles a little and has to take a moment just before she gets stable, due to her being a mark 3. And them walking through the water, Striker was much faster on the surface and on the floor. Just a very slight yet amazing detail that makes the movie perfect.
I love how Striker and Gypsy march side by side into the abyss like an almighty tag team. They're the last Jaegers remaining, the fasted and most advanced Jaeger and the most well equipped Jaeger walking straight into the mouth of hell.

I love how the Kaijus are actually pretty intelegent creatures, Scunner and Raiju stopped because they knew if Striker jumps the mission fails, but then when Striker stopped and Slattern comes out they attack immedietly.
They also pulled off a pretty decent coordinated ambush. Using Slattern as a distraction Scunner pulls the exact move Gypsy is describing on Gypsy. Then just as Gypsy is recovering Raiju strikes in and rips off its arm.
Also they're designed to counter the Jaegers. Scunner has a thick skull to tank Gipsy's headshots and Raiju is faster than Striker.

This was the single most impractical and utterly badass scene in the movie, possibly only second to Gipsy Danger clubbing a Kaiju with an ocean freighter in the middle of a major city.
The best description I’ve ever heard for this movie is “a bunch of gruff dudes with nothing to lose jump inside of massive robots and throw down with alien giants inside a gigantic fireworks warehouse.”
The fact that you can see Striker Eureka moving its right arm and Gipsy is like 3 seconds behind really shows Striker is the most advanced jaeger ever

This movie was so good I remember walking out of the cinema walking like jaeger, it made me feel like I was in that universe, one of the best memories from my childhood for sure.
Seeing both Stryker and Gypsy walking to the drop. Is like starting the Boss battle without even fighting wave 1

Yeah. 2nd movie looks like complete trash compared to this. The new Jaegers move so fast and look so lightweight that it doesn't feel like they're fighting against impossible odds now.
Xecnalxes After seeing the movie with this being my biggest complaint, I can confirm that the trailers HAVE been sped up. The Jaeger’s move about as fast as Striker Eureka, if a little smoother.
Xecnalxes The first is....better. If you *liked* the first movie you’ll probably not like the second as much. I still liked it but it definitely has a different feel. Now if you didn’t like the first you might end up loving the second as a lot of my friends who didn’t like the first, liked the second. I’d recommend going to see it with the same attitude you saw the first one: Not expecting some mind blowing inception level story, just there to see robots fight. Don’t nitpick it or you WILL be disappointed. But I did like the new future looking tech they showed in the movie, not just for the Jaegers.

This was one of the most enjoyable movies I have ever seen in theatres. No need for a complex plot - the sheer magnitude of the camera work coupled with piles of "Oh, HELL yeah" moments made it memorable enough to see it twice.

God I loves the scenes of the two Jaegers walking together. On one hand you have Gypsy, an old tried and true beast of a unit that has kicked as and taken names but on the other hand there is Stryker, a new less proven but silent and efficient killer in a new age. It's like 1970s technology and modern technology. The old models look clunky, primitive, and prototype compared to the new, slick, perfect, and flawless designs when they share a lot in common and can challenge each other.

This movie is still EPIC and one of my all-time favorites as well. The sequel was such a letdown. What I really wanted to see was a prequel but that never happened :(

@@joegrcz7151 Yeah Scunner (that's its name) is designed to be a tank, to absorb and occupy the jaegers attention and attacks whilst Raiju (the speed boi) snipes their limbs off. Their job was to take out Gypsy whilst Slattern (the cat 5) deals with Striker.
The original made more sense then Uprising anyone who agrees
