    MY STORY:
I am the CEO of Scooter's Lawn Care, Inc.: an award-winning lawn care, landscaping, and home service company with locations in central Illinois and southwest Florida.
I help others scale their lives, relationships & businesses on CZcams, on the GROW by Design podcast, in 1:1 coaching calls, and in my coaching group GROW Comm.
I first started my lawn care business part-time in 2014, while working full-time in the autobody industry. In 2015, I quit my job (with a pregnant fiancee) and risked everything to go full-time.
By 2019, Scooter's Lawn Care, Inc. was an award-winning, seven-figure company in Springfield, Illinois.
In 2021, I once again started from the ground up with a second location expansion in Cape Coral, Florida. By month three, my team was hitting $50,000/mo in revenue - climbing up on $100,000/mo before the first year's end. In under two years, my second location was selling over $200,000 in lawn care & landscaping services each month.
I share the wins and losses in our business journey - along with proven strategies to scale - on CZcams to help others grow.
I coach others during 1:1 calls (bit.ly/3sczUgN) and in my private coaching group, GROW Comm.
GROW Comm is a one-of-a-kind, value-packed business growth training center, and networking community designed to scale service companies to seven-figures and create success & abundance in all areas of life.
Registration opens for a few days a few times each year.

    Great knowledge! I agree!
We also charge by total lot size but our reason is it’s basically the same. Times 70-90 different homes. Averaged out the time for lot size ranges.
And that accounts for the variables. Most homes in the area average to this so we can standardize. And I tell them say a .25 is basically similar most homes have similar sizes etc.
    Great info overall

Those who say your wrong i have to say is like you said what works for you doesnt always work for another. Not every company can work off the same ways. but most can. Pricing your getting there doesnt mean you will always get it over here. Like always great content. Waiting for growcom to open

Anyone know where I can find these terms and conditions for the estimate?

Bottom line. In 2024, you can not run a viable, reliable small company in any industry for leass than $125 a man hour. If your materials + labor - taxes and overhead do not amount to $125 an hour, you and your business will be wore out. Unless you are the labor, which will wear you out.

That was a lot of talking, and absolutely nothing informative. Starting and operating a lawn care company is probably the easiest start up to man kind. I mowed my first paid lawn at 12 years old for gods sake. We cut freaking grass. It’s not that complicated

For sure. Everything is easy to start. Just like everything is hard to scale, remain profitable, build teams, office staff and continue to invest in growth.

@@JacobGodar I’m not sure if bigger really gets that much more profitable . If you keep it down to two trucks and trailers. Have the ability to keep everything at your personal property. Avoid workers comp, expensive insurance. Rent etc. keep your overhead to a minimum. And still generate a net profit of over 200k annually. That’s kind of the right formula. And run like a tree removal/ forestry mulching/ earth mowing set up on the side . You can pretty easily make 300k. And all this with only 4 employees. And great customer service. Keep it simple stupid is the rule I live by. We usually have almost every account on every street we service. And I have never advertised. And the customers love to give us cookies and cold ice tea. Customers love the personal service, and the same guys at there house every time. And be on a first name basis with everyone.
