He should have been ashamed to tout the ambush "hunters" of submerged murder of commercial / passenger ships HAVING NO WAR RELEVANCE .... as well as guessing right on some occasions - how does an honorable man live with that ! Sorry ... not buying the story.
You have no idea how happy it makes me to see these pop up in my Notifications. Thank you for your efforts; great job! 👍🏼
@rickj.9202 Sir thank you so much for your kind words and generous appreciation ,it matters the world to us ,Kind Regards 🙏
Any fucking civilian transport was carrying troops in wss@@jeffreyjacobs390

Book by Herbert Werner, after the war he moved to the US, became a citizen in 1957 where he wrote "iron coffins" he died in 2013 aged 92.
I love these videos! Free books are always awesome. His first mission getting stuck on the ocean floor and having one comrade die made my heart race, I can only imagine how much worse others first time out was
Being a U-boat captain is probably the most extreme game of nerves; you hear the sonar while destroyers top side are dropping depth charges on you trying to make the ocean enter your sub and the pressure of the water is actively trying to do the same you submerge to far you get crushed and if you do get to surface the giant guns of our destroyers and cruisers are aiming at you!
I remember reading this book 20 years ago. This is from Iron Coffins and the words are by Herbert Werner.
A fantastic read.
Truth
Thank you! I was looking for the name of the book, it really should be listed in the video description.
Once again, this is good stuff - well done!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent content , many thanks for posting 🙏
love these WWII tales from the german perspective. I just wish there was a good way to find these in the order they were put out. At the end of many of these they just stop mid sentence and then you can't find the next video to continue where the previous one left off.
Watch them through the channels playlists
Looking forward to part two . Thank you
Whenever you fire a torpedo the game is on .Sooo scary
Also. The author mentions he had a cabin? Maybe he is referring to the compartment? And he refers to the torpedoes as fish, not eels. Couple other things like calling the deck a "floor". Just wondering why.
I read his book its very good
Very interesting. I stumbled upon this.
46:00 Kretschmer, highest scoring U boat commander in WW2 has a memoir, The golden horseshoe, by Terence Robertson, you would do well to get your AI bot to read it for us, fantastic book.
I would have stolen a bicycle and gone to Spain and got a job as a hairdresser or wash dishes.
Couldn't get me to be a twin dolfin man !
It's called the Horst Wessel ! Get it !?
Edit: I'm sure the Na$is were aware of this pun and considered it a dad joke of sehr schön quality.
I wish the AI had a German accent
Shit man. Surviving that long in a u boat is no mean feat. More like borderline impossible. How could they maintain bubble with balls that big on board?
in 1945 , U-boat losses were 95% , they almost could go out anymore .
Mathew McConahay a U-boat Captain😮?
"makee learnee" on both sides; the Allies 'learneed' best. We'll wait for later posts to respond.
Not many can be submariners.
But many were sardines in a can.
I would never make it on a submarine .I have so much respect for submariners.I would be seasick and claustrophobic
Interesting fate for U-557. It was rammed by an Italian Regia Marina PT boat, intentionally but mistakenly. Nice little read on Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_submarine_U-557. I'm assuming the diarist was not on U-557 at the time as it sank with all hands. Safe assumption, I think.
