      @omarc6233 Personally, I recommend preparing each section of the section separately, one at a time. Most, but not all, candidates prefer this method due to the large amount of diverse topics on the syllabus

    I passed the 1101 with a 733. I had some overlap questions of core 2 material on the core 1 exam. (ie drive format questions: FAT32, xFat, NTSF ect...) and had I studied all of the material at least somewhat prior. I feel like I would have potentially passed with a higher score.
    Not to scare anyone, but don't take this test for granted. The material is pretty basic, but CompTIA writes these questions to really throw you. The practice questions are deceptively easier than the actual exam questions.

    I wish the PBQs could be an actual hands-on assessment, because the amount of time I waste trying to figure out wth I'm supposed to do functionally for any one PBQ is not economic.

    Even with the new 1101 [as of 2023], there's still a lot of printer questions. Printing should be prioritized just as much as hardware or networking when you're studying, make sure you know what a fuser is, what a thermal fuse is, platen rollers, what's included in a laser printer cartridge- at the very least, be able to identify what each printer type uses, like how impact uses ribbons and inkjet uses nozzles and piezoelectric crystals

    hardware questions. I did not get any question identifying computer parts.

Set admin password and passphrase. Second pbq is you putting the connectors on different cables. Coaxial, rj45, rj11. Then putting which tools you would use on them. Then the next is setting up a modem, telephone, computer with a network. Putting rj45 from modem to router and coaxial from modem to wall. Rj11 from telephone to modem. Rj45 into computer.

    I took and passed 1002 (BARELY, 708) today. It’s not an easy exam. It’s not a “choose the correct definition of a term” exam. The vast majority of questions involve hypothetical situations. In some instances, I chose the best of the worst answer. In others, I used process of elimination. And a few times, I made educated guesses.
    As far as the PBQ, there’s was one about disk partitioning and RAID arrays. Conceptually, I knew how to do it. However, for some reason, the computer wouldn’t let me type at the correct spot. I was pissed off. There was another one about being at a help desk. You had two tickets. You had to troubleshoot each problem. There was a third one about fixing someone’s wireless phone (ie incorrect settings).
    There are no practice questions that are the same level of difficulty as the actual exam. The closest is Jason Dion’s Udemy course. Do every question there is. Professor Messer’s questions are good as a warm up, but deceptively easy.

    • @xxFormula1989xx
      @xxFormula1989xx Před rokem +6

      I have to agree with the deceptively easy practice questions. They are almost a disservice to anyone taking the test by giving a false sense of preparedness. And thank you for the PBQ information.

I will without a doubt be watching more of this channel's content related to CompTIA Certs. (Shout out to Professor Messer as well)
    I would say I had at least 10 printer related questions, (I only had an 80 question exam). Just study the fine details of 802.11 Standards, Printers, CompTIA's Troubleshooting Model, Network Devices and Network Standards/Protocols and their Port Numbers.
