  • Welcome to Javea, also known as Xabia in Valencian, one of the most sought-after coastal towns along the northern Costa Blanca, Spain. Situated at the most easterly point of the country, approximately 100 kilometers from Valencia and 90 kilometers from Alicante, Javea offers a captivating blend of scenic beauty and vibrant coastal charm.
With a population of about 33,000, Javea is divided into three distinct areas: the old town, located 2 kilometers from the sea, Javea port, and the bustling Arenal Beach, which serves as the main beach and tourist hub. Arenal Beach, or Playa de Arenal, stretches across 500 meters and boasts the prestigious Blue Flag Award for its cleanliness and pristine waters. The beach area offers an array of shopping, bars, and restaurants, making it a lively center of activity.
Javea is an alluring destination that caters to the interests of both young and old alike. Its inviting beaches provide ample opportunities for water sports enthusiasts, including swimming, jet skiing, diving, and paragliding. The town enjoys mild winters, with temperatures rarely falling below 12 degrees Celsius, while the summers see temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees Celsius. The months of June and September offer ideal weather conditions, with average temperatures around 26 degrees Celsius.

2023 has proved to be one of the busiest years for property investment in Javea, it being one of the most desireable places to visit/live on the Costa Blanca. Prices have gone up, but there are still some great value properties available when you consider the quality of life that Javea provides for its residents and visitors.

I would say it is pretty empty in the winter, if to compare, for example with Benidorm

And are most restaurants / shops closed in winter? When do they open up again and season starts?

Everything is open all year around

Most businesses, bars, restaurants are open in the winter which makes Javea a great place to visit or live all year round. Winter days are also typically sunny!

I don’t know when this was filmed but it’s like that in winter. From June to September you can easily multiply the number of people by 50 (at least).
