Another great presentation, Crista! Thanks! I have used Meyers, but you talked about the abbreviations page, which is awesome and will be so helpful. Thanks!

What other records do you have that indicate when he was born? Having several sources would help you narrow down the correct birth year.

Does the customization of your ancestry homepage still work or not ?

Nope. The new logged in home page (sans customization) was introduced a few years ago now. However, if you watch my most recent video - What's New at Ancestry: July 2022 - you will see a sneak peek at what we are doing with home page personalization in the near future.

    Dear Christa,
My German great-great grandfather was also from northern Arkansas (Sebastian Co); I am trying to trace him back to Germany. You are not a Rudell are you? (In case, here is some date : Charles Edward Rudell, born June 06, 1815 (1830(?!)in Mittelstadt, GERMANY. I will be in Württemberg next week but have been told the records in Mittlestad were burned in a fire. I tried using the Gazetteer on Ancestry but got 0 results. (However other data indicates he immigrated from Penipia Prussia which I’m told is not Württemberg anyway!)
    Cheers, Cinda

I have run into so many blocks attempting to find the parentage of Friedrich Meyer born 1833 in Hannover Germany landed in Texas. His grave is at:the Lone Oak Cemetery in Seguin, Texas (Guadaupe County) at findagrave
where the birth year is listed incorrectly as 1888. Tips please?
