  • This video will walk you through the Lippert Ground Control operation for the System used with Fifth wheels. This is a great feature to simplify your RVing life with your FW. This system also has an auto hitch feature which raises the FW to the height you decoupled from your truck so there is no guessing or manually trying to figure out the height before you back up to hitch on.
    Watch for our future video, our unit is equipped with this feature.

    The one thing that is missing from the video is your RV has to be somewhat level to begin with ! Lots of trial and error on my part to find this out . Most new RV owners are never told this when they purchase an RV . I was told the Lippert ground control took care of everything when in actuality it is just a fine tuning device to get your RV level ! Glad you made this video anyway , helped me have a better understanding of the Lippert system .

      The somewhat level is not totally correct, as I mention the system will lift tires off the ground (which you do not want) as you will have to use level block to support the lift. If you are way off level then it will not level as the leveling legs only have so much stroke(lift) that they can provide. Great comment and Thanks for watching.

    I have a FR Flagstaff Superlite and saw you did the leveling with the slides in on the Microlite. Do you need to relevel after the slides are out? Once I extend the slides it always seems to drop the driver's side another 1/4". Any recommendations?

    • @RVing_TV
      @RVing_TV  Před 6 měsíci +2

      You should always level with slides in as not to damage your trailer. When the unit is level and you extend slides it should remain level. Both this demo and my personal unit are on Fifth Wheel Trailers and I never have to relevel even with large slide. If you are getting movement make sure the ground below the pads is solid if not use blocks or pads to widen and stabilize the area beneath the jacks. Here is a live demo of the system also. czcams.com/video/OXTkvkPOZWY/video.html Hope this helps. If an issue continues call Lippert support. Thanks

    I have the mini outside touchpad (without the lcd screen). Is it possible to upgrade this to the lcd screen version so I can clear errors from outside instead of going inside to the lcd screen to clear the error?

    Of course, if you have hydraulic LCI jacks like we do, there is no manual option. IF there is, LCI never bothered to list that in any manual.

    I noticed when raising the front and disconnecting from the truck that my rear and left buttons were flashing green. The digital display didn't show any errors, but those two buttons were flashing green. Can you tell me what that means? Is there something we need to fix or do?

      I have the 3.0 system and lights are red when the system is not leveled. These lights show which side is out of level. check with your manual it will describe their function or contact lippert support.
      Check here for manuals if you do not have one support.lci1.com/electric-leveling

      Ok, you are talking about the travel trailer system, likely your level sensor is having an issue or system needs to be reset. Check Lippert troubleshooting online.

    I worry about the fifth wheel tipping over if all the jacks are refracted. Is this a valid concern?

    • @RVing_TV
      @RVing_TV  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I do not think this should be anymore of a concern than normal. The rear axles should always be making contact with the ground. So if the leveling system raises the axles off the ground then you should retract them, move the trailer onto blocks so axles are supported. Also, a good set of wheel chocks are a must so the unit does not move forward or backwards. Hope this helps with your understanding of the leveling. Check out this live demo I filmed. czcams.com/video/OXTkvkPOZWY/video.html

    My very first time out my RR jack ran out of stroke and I had to watch about 10 videos on how to manually operate the jacks. The salesman did a horrible job explaining how to use the system. He basically told me to read the instructions on the door. Anyways, my current problem still exsists, I cannot get the system to stop giving me the error message something generic like "RR jack error". How do I clear this so I can use the auto feature again? I appreciate any help you can provide.

      To erase code error. Extend front for 10 seconds, middle for ten seconds, and then extend rear for 10 seconds hit, then hold retract.

    Why does it bring the coach wheels off the ground?

    • @RVing_TV
      @RVing_TV  Před 3 měsíci

      If the wheels are lifting on one side that side may be too low so it lifts and if that is the case you need to block the wheels so they are supported. You can use 2x6's or I prefer Lynx levelers

    You show the features but you don't show "how". Exp: How to lower kingpin onto jack.

    • @RVing_TV
      @RVing_TV  Před rokem

      To lower kinpin you use the retract feature and then the front jack buttons. I will see about doing a future video.
