So y’all entertainment is not a bad thing. Church people are so afraid of things not remaining serious, but this is how some people understand the gospel. We personally don’t need this entertainment, but others do to keep them engaged and so they can understand it. So don’t make the alarm go off in your mind that the second you see entertainment means it’s a false message. That’s not true. However, It it gets to a certain level where it’s not good anymore, example: pouring syrup on the Word of God.
Millions of Christians martyred around the world, where having a Bible is illegal, and this man desecrates the word of God! This isn’t a biblical pastor.

When I was new into my surrendering to my faith I listened to Mike. Now that I’ve been reading my Bible and really getting to get to know the Lord, I can’t get down with him anymore. He is more about theatrics and not just speaking the truth of the gospel
Same here. I was an atheist for many years, but when I was early on my journey back to faith I would watch Mike Todd on TBN, I found his energy and demeanor attractive. But I feel like he’s gone off the rails and I’ve become more serious in my faith as well. Wishing you the best!

I watched a documentary on Mike Todd that made it all make sense for me. For anyone who doesn’t know: his parents were in ministry when he was growing up. He wasn’t sure he wanted to go into ministry and got pushed and pressured into it from a young age. I wanna say he was early 20’s when he first became the lead pastor of his church at the time. So now we see what happens when a spiritual infant is put it into leadership. And then gets a taste of fame and fortune. Recipe for disaster.

I’m not even a Christian. Which I say with respect, because I don’t understand the resurrection, which is required in order to be one. I do believe in God. And I do respect Christian’s very much. Most of what he does, I just consider, that perhaps God called him to such antics in order to reach an audience that I simply don’t relate with or understand. But the syrup on the Bible. That sent chills up my spine. I had to rebuke it immediately.

When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child, of the Holy Ghost. Jesus had a ministry on Earth and He came, and was sent, to die for our sins. Ya know.. the bad stuff you and I do. The Jewish people handed Jesus over to Pilate, a Roman, to be crucified. I think it's symbolic of both Jewish people and Gentiles crucified Jesus. Jesus was whipped and then put onto the cross where He died. He descended and set prisoners free and then the Father rose Jesus on the third day. When we die, OUR spirits go some place. If you are a believer, you go be with Jesus. If not.. wellll... there's only one other place. We believers get incorruptible bodies. This is in its simplest form.
What about it specifically confuses you? The sacrifice was required because of God’s law and the need for justice. Jesus attained forgiveness for everyone who is willing to believe by sacrificing Himself. This satisfied God’s justice. The resurrection is to show that He overcame the grave because He had no flaw. The wages of sin is death, and because Jesus had never sinned, the grave could not hold Him. This is my unpolished answer, so I apologize if it was confusing
We are all descendants of Adam and Eve. Man sinned against God, and the the wages of sin was death. After the flood God created a covenant with the Hebrew Abraham, the father of all the nations and the Jews. The entire old testament is about the law and the coming Messiah, and how He redeems the world. JESUS is the Word of God in the flesh. Also known as the second Adam. He humbled Himself and became subservient to death. He put on the corrupt flesh that man sinned in, lived a perfect life and was crucified in the flesh. He took all the punishment and all the sin of the world and nailed it to the cross. He died so we could live, those who put their faith into Him shall have everlasting life. The resurrection is JESUS conquering the grave. Death is now subservient to Him, and now we live in the age of grace, where all you need to do is have faith in the God who loved you so much He humbled himself and did what had to be done for humanity because He knew sin would consume us otherwise. The Holy Spirit is God's guarantee to us that we are saved, and that we will be guarded until the end. The crucifixion represents our old self dying, our sinful ways, and being born again in the spirit, the resurrection, it is no longer us who lives, but Christ Jesus who lives in us. Galatians 2:20
God doesn't call anyone to antics. "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." 2 Tim. 3: 16-17 His Word is sufficient. All of this isn't needed. And if you need it, you're not there for God. You're there to be entertained and feel like you've done your good deed for the week.

Pastor Todd teaches the word with Demonstrations to make it simple and plain!!!! We all have a unique purpose and ministry. And this happens to be his unique ministry, he has scriptures to back up what he’s saying. Some people need to SEE instead of just hearing. Listen to the actual message and not just certain clips.
Well on the trampoline part, he was seemingly humble in the message, and I got it on what was being said. On the syrup part I wondered who was going to clean all that up after everyone is gone home.

Mike Todd preaches to grab the attention of a specific group. To tell you the truth I am always looking forward to his sermons. He is very good. Our young people are so easily distracted they need entertainment to grad their attention. Mike Todd has a word with every illustration. This helps people to remember the word and put it into practice. He is good. Good channel Nick.

And pouring syrup onto the Bible is a serious act of disrespect. No one should think that this is acceptable to God. We are to worship in spirit and in truth. We are to teach God's Word in it's simplicity. It distracts people from hearing and learning when secular attempts are used.

Then to end it with "defend your pastor😂😂 I do love the fact that you said you understood what he was trying to illustrate in the second video. I feel like too often important messages are lost because theres no room to hear them through preconceived notions. Honestly, in my opinion. There is a place for Mike Todd in building the Kingdom HEAR ME OUT! When I was a new Christian i gravitated towards the Mike Todds and they did their part for that season in my journey. Im a firm believer that if your open to it, God will deliver a word to you in any sermon as long as theres scrioture involved. When you grow in your faith you do come to realize you need more...substance than what is offered in a lot of mega churches. If your following up sermons by intentionally reading the Bible and praying and taking in worship music you naturally start to want less "antics" (as a lot of people perceive them to be) from your pastor and you just want church to be about getting straight to the point and seeking God. I dont think the Mike Todds are the problem. Passive Christianity is the problem. Hearing a sermon and leaving it at Sunday service is the problem. Being passive about your journey is the problem. I appreciate churches like Transformation. They drew me in, they delivered faith in the bite sized portions that I could sustain at the time. Eventually the Holy Spirit took over and I hungered for more and more. To me, based on my experiences, some of these churches (some) that we feel are being extra, are valid members of the Body of Christ and they serve a legitimate function. Is it possible that maybe as we mature in faith, we genuinely forget that back then, we were only willing to take in certain levels because we couldnt fathom the rest of it?
You can’t defend that. You said his “church is big”. Then why are there so few believers living their faith? Mega church businesses are part of the problem. IMO. Their drive to entertain with props, lights and crazy antics are playing Holy Spirit to get people saved. I’m old. My observation is that when I try to assist the Holy Spirit I only get in the way. Give me THE WORD. The rest will come.

I used to watch clips of Michael Todd doing strange things and think he was a heretic or at least crazy. I told my niece to stay away from him and felt sincere outrage at some of his antics. THEN the Lord put me in my place about criticizing people that I hadn't listened to in their entirety. Now I can say that I saw the FULL sermon that he preached that included this demonstration of messing up a Bible (you should have seen the stage) and it was EXCELLENT. The Bible can be wiped off. He made an excellent point about how we treat our temple in which the Holy Spirit resides and if a Bible had to get dirty to really bring that point home, it was very worth it. I'm sure the Holy Spirit would prefer a "clean" temple to reside in, than a dirty temple that carries around a "clean" Bible. I'm just saying that we should be careful about hanging each other out to dry so quickly. I was right there with you last year, but I see now that the true, unadulterated Word of God CAN be delivered in some strange ways. Sometimes, God himself has instructed how the demonstration should be done and we His people get upset. Year three of college, we had one lecturer who used to talk bad about us students. You know what? I don't think I ever missed his class, though it was a difficult course, due to one reason. His comments had me cracking up throughout the lesson 😅. (Side note I didn't get a grade A, but I didn't get a D either 😅) All I am trying to say is that people go to places for different reasons. And church is no exception. Nowadays, people are starting churches or ministries for different reasons too.
I have a few thoughts running through my mind. 1. If your message requires you to desecrate God's Word, then pick another message. The Holy Spirit is not the Author of confusion. He will NOT lead anyone into error. 2. Mike Todd is more entertainer and motivational speaker than pastor. He cares more about filling seats than saving souls. He cares more for making sure his congregants are having a good time than making sure they're efficient edified. 3. Souls are in peril, following him. He could easily lead others astray, if he hasn't already. It's a daunting prospect, but true. People have to be in the Word for themselves, know what the expectations are and do their best to meet them. Will we stumble? Sure. But that's where God's Grace, Mercy, Love and Forgiveness come in . I just pray that Mike gets it together sooner rather than later. In the meantime, I hope that people have some discernment to see that he is a false teacher.

So y’all entertainment is not a bad thing. Church people are so afraid of things not remaining serious, but this is how some people understand the gospel. We personally don’t need this entertainment, but others do to keep them engaged and so they can understand it. So don’t make the alarm go off in your mind that the second you see entertainment means it’s a false message. That’s not true. However, It it gets to a certain level where it’s not good anymore, example: pouring syrup on the Word of God.

I watched a documentary on Mike Todd that made it all make sense for me. For anyone who doesn’t know: his parents were in ministry when he was growing up. He wasn’t sure he wanted to go into ministry and got pushed and pressured into it from a young age. I wanna say he was early 20’s when he first became the lead pastor of his church at the time. So now we see what happens when a spiritual infant is put it into leadership. And then gets a taste of fame and fortune. Recipe for disaster.

I’m not even a Christian. Which I say with respect, because I don’t understand the resurrection, which is required in order to be one. I do believe in God. And I do respect Christian’s very much. Jesus had a ministry on Earth and He came, and was sent, to die for our sins. Ya know.. the bad stuff you and I do. The Jewish people handed Jesus over to Pilate, a Roman, to be crucified. I think it's symbolic of both Jewish people and Gentiles crucified Jesus. Jesus was whipped and then put onto the cross where He died. He descended and set prisoners free and then the Father rose Jesus on the third day. When we die, OUR spirits go some place. If you are a believer, you go be with Jesus. If not.. wellll... there's only one other place. We believers get incorruptible bodies.

What about it specifically confuses you? The sacrifice was required because of God’s law and the need for justice. Jesus attained forgiveness for everyone who is willing to believe by sacrificing Himself. This satisfied God’s justice. The resurrection is to show that He overcame the grave because He had no flaw. The wages of sin is death, and because Jesus had never sinned, the grave could not hold Him.

We are all descendants of Adam and Eve. Man sinned against God, and the the wages of sin was death. After the flood God created a covenant with the Hebrew Abraham, the father of all the nations and the Jews. The entire old testament is about the law and the coming Messiah, and how He redeems the world.
JESUS is the Word of God in the flesh. Also known as the second Adam. He humbled Himself and became subservient to death. He put on the corrupt flesh that man sinned in, lived a perfect life and was crucified in the flesh. He took all the punishment and all the sin of the world and nailed it to the cross. He died so we could live, those who put their faith into Him shall have everlasting life.
The resurrection is JESUS conquering the grave. Death is now subservient to Him, and now we live in the age of grace, where all you need to do is have faith in the God who loved you so much He humbled himself and did what had to be done for humanity because He knew sin would consume us otherwise. The Holy Spirit is God's guarantee to us that we are saved, and that we will be guarded until the end.
The crucifixion represents our old self dying, our sinful ways, and being born again in the spirit, the resurrection, it is no longer us who lives, but Christ Jesus who lives in us. Galatians 2:20
God doesn't call anyone to antics. "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." 2 Tim. 3: 16-17 His Word is sufficient. All of this isn't needed. And if you need it, you're not there for God. You're there to be entertained and feel like you've done your good deed for the week.
We Christians love you man. We may not know each other personally but deep in our hearts we really want everyone to know our Lord Jesus Christ and be saved from eternal damnation in hell..✌️❤️

I’ve been watching him before he blew up and he’s always demonstrated his sermons to the message across. His messages are good, watching small clips won’t help. Mike Todd preaches to grab the attention of a specific group. To tell you the truth I am always looking forward to his sermons. He is very good. Our young people are so easily distracted they need entertainment to grad their attention. Mike Todd has a word with every illustration. This helps people to remember the word and put it into practice. He is good. Good channel Nick.

And pouring syrup onto the Bible is a serious act of disrespect. No one should think that this is acceptable to God. We are to worship in spirit and in truth. We are to teach God's Word in it's simplicity. It distracts people from hearing and learning when secular attempts are used.

Does whatever context may be there justify everything and anything? Do the ends justify the means? Is this really good to be approaching sermons with this mindset? Can one choose to curse on the pulpit and then at the end say that it’s okay because [insert justification here]?

When I was a new Christian i gravitated towards the Mike Todds and they did their part for that season in my journey. Im a firm believer that if your open to it, God will deliver a word to you in any sermon as long as theres scrioture involved. When you grow in your faith you do come to realize you need more...substance than what is offered in a lot of mega churches. If your following up sermons by intentionally reading the Bible and praying and taking in worship music you naturally start to want less "antics" (as a lot of people perceive them to be) from your pastor and you just want church to be about getting straight to the point and seeking God.
I dont think the Mike Todds are the problem. Passive Christianity is the problem. Hearing a sermon and leaving it at Sunday service is the problem. Being passive about your journey is the problem.
I appreciate churches like Transformation. They drew me in, they delivered faith in the bite sized portions that I could sustain at the time. Eventually the Holy Spirit took over and I hungered for more and more.
To me, based on my experiences, some of these churches (some) that we feel are being extra, are valid members of the Body of Christ and they serve a legitimate function. Is it possible that maybe as we mature in faith, we genuinely forget that back then, we were only willing to take in certain levels because we couldnt fathom the rest of it?

I used to watch clips of Michael Todd doing strange things and think he was a heretic or at least crazy. I told my niece to stay away from him and felt sincere outrage at some of his antics. THEN the Lord put me in my place about criticizing people that I hadn't listened to in their entirety. Now I can say that I saw the FULL sermon that he preached that included this demonstration of messing up a Bible (you should have seen the stage) and it was EXCELLENT. The Bible can be wiped off. He made an excellent point about how we treat our temple in which the Holy Spirit resides and if a Bible had to get dirty to really bring that point home, it was very worth it. I'm sure the Holy Spirit would prefer a "clean" temple to reside in, than a dirty temple that carries around a "clean" Bible. I'm just saying that we should be careful about hanging each other out to dry so quickly. I was right there with you last year, but I see now that the true, unadulterated Word of God CAN be delivered in some strange ways. Sometimes, God himself has instructed how the demonstration should be done and we His people get upset. Let's hold off a second, listen to the entire sermon and then decide if Mike Todd is truly crszy. I think not.

Year three of college, we had one lecturer who used to talk bad about us students. You know what? I don't think I ever missed his class, though it was a difficult course, due to one reason. His comments had me cracking up throughout the lesson 😅. (Side note I didn't get a grade A, but I didn't get a D either 😅)
All I am trying to say is that people go to places for different reasons. And church is no exception. Nowadays, people are starting churches or ministries for different reasons too.

I have a few thoughts running through my mind.
1. If your message requires you to desecrate God's Word, then pick another message. The Holy Spirit is not the Author of confusion. He will NOT lead anyone into error.
2. Mike Todd is more entertainer and motivational speaker than pastor. He cares more about filling seats than saving souls. He cares more for making sure his congregants are having a good time than making sure they're efficient edified.
3. Souls are in peril, following him. He could easily lead others astray, if he hasn't already. It's a daunting prospect, but true.
People have to be in the Word for themselves, know what the expectations are and do their best to meet them. Will we stumble? Sure. But that's where God's Grace, Mercy, Love and Forgiveness come in . I just pray that Mike gets it together sooner rather than later. In the meantime, I hope that people have some discernment to see that he is a false teacher.
