Landscape Photography in Karijini an Outback Adventure

Photographing gorges of Karijini with the oldest rock in the world can be challenging. After a 14 hour drive from Perth we arrived in the National Park for some landscape photography.

We decided to first visit Circular Pool in Dales Gorge where we looked for scenes with contrast, textures and small details. The challenge with the first location was that there was a huge difference in exposure between the highlights of the scene and the darker area. To address this, I took multiple exposures to ensure I had didn't blow the highlights and captured all the detail in the shadows.
The second location was further to the side facing a waterfall. I composed the image with the waterfall taking up the majority of the photo. When editing, I planned to crop the image with a 3x1 crop to accentuate the shape of the waterfall.
