I’ve now ordered the 2024 ND3 RS I’ll have to wait 5 months give or take to arrive in Sydney Australia but at least I have an awesome car in the meantime to wait. Porsche's Boxster was the "affordable" Porsche when it was introduced. Porsche couldn't resist making just a slightly cheaper 911. $162,000 is way out of my budget.

$162k is top if the line, Boxster start at around $80k. I had a 05 Boxster S for 15 years, gave it to a friend and I got a 16 981 Spyder. 10k miles $89.5k. Buy whatever you can afford.
Don't be fooled by this electric car fad. Never will be enough electricity to power every car on the road. ICE engines that can be personally modified to the real car enthusiasts taste will always prevail. Won't be that long down the line when auto manufacturers and buyers of electric cars realize that they were played for as fools. That being said, if a person wants to deal with the issues that go along with electric cars then buy one. I for one as a 'car guy' will stay with the ICE engine.

I take mine for a spin just for FUN, playing with the gear stick and listening to the engine in any curvy road, at really low speeds indeed - whilst it can really be exciting if you decide to push it, even under legal speed limits. I look forward to see how Mazda engineers match this with the next electric generation, I doubt it can be matched in some essential aspects of mine though. It might be more modern, nicer, sharper, exciting…but still missing the “old-fashion” overall experience I am afraid. Let’s see…
Back in the 1990s, several major car magazines declared that the Mazda Miata was the best handling car in production, beating out ALL the BMWs and Porsches… I’m not sure that that is exactly true, but it must be close. You can’t buy a better handling car for 10X as much money!
The Mustang Convertible Turbo will work for me. I wish they would make it AWD. At one point Lincoln MKZ made a Convertible Concept Car. People went crazy over it. Of course the powers that be just ignored us. The power in my MKZ 2.0 AWD Pins me in my seat & it’s also AWD. It’s a Reserve model with all the bells & whistles. Convertibles don’t need to be on small nor expensive cars. The rest of us would like a convertible to that doesn’t have our butts dragging on the pavement. I’ve had a 2 Sebrings until the 200 ended it. My 2008 Sebring was a Steel Top. It wasn’t cheap but it was worth it. It was lousy in the snow but the 2004 is excellent in the snow.
I love my 2021 Porsche Carrera S cabriolet, with 7 speed manual. It’s a 10%-er car that is sublime for driving the back roads and by-ways at speed with comfort.

You can get an very good Austin HEALEY 100/6 for $25K-$30K. I don’t know about that $1M price tag for a vintage car. This new car is about 5X to 7X overpriced.

Hint: For the average consumer, a Mustang or Miata, or perhaps the MiniCooper, would be the ticket. In the Miata, opt for the manual transmission and take it to the twistiest road you know and have a blast. In the Mustang, don’t be fooled by all the ‘performance’ stuff. It’s not a track car (no convertible is), and while it handles well it’s not gonna hang with a real sports car on curves. So just get the Ecoboost version, and treat it is the awesome sporty cruiser that it is.
@@automotiveterritory my MX 5 is a 2003 and only has 22 k miles. It’s blue metallic, washed only 5 times never driven in the rain or snow. The only issue is a small rip in the drivers seat. It was a retirement present to myself after 46 years in business.

Mainstream north america car makers are pushing all SUV s . They are gross, expensive to repair. They are so out if style period. Now that electric cars look exciting we can build the bigger two doir coupes again. If i were a manufacturer ide be going ahead of the game. Only selling 4 doir version cars and SUVS is basically limiting buyers and thats not good. I dont see any new cars i want or would buy. I dont need an SUV in the city. I dont want an econo cross over either. Ill stick with my two door hatchback. I hate 4 door sedans. They arch the front doors and you end up hutting the tops of the doors with your head. Its painful and its something that always happens . At least with a two door the doors are bigger and you dont hit your head. Gms biggest mistake was and will be getting rid of camaro and killing pontiac was their biggest blunder of all time. Why does gm need two luxury brands no other car company has that. I have always contended that horsepower should be limited to 300 in an age when we realize that fossil fuels are pollutants and expensive. In the best of all possible worlds you should be able to buy a really nice car for less than $100K. $2.3M is a nasty joke for people who have way too much money and little common sense.
We live in times where these very limited cars keep on selling at such prices because they are mainly used as a collectible. It's not uncommon to see these rarely driven too.
