Unconscionable. Nothing against Sherri personally but how is the public supposed to feel about this? We are the people partly responsible for the success of the Wendy show! I too lost everything due to Grief / Loss of my family, so I totally understand what Wendy is going through, it does not erase her work, but the workforce will give you some time to heal, but eventually they will move on.... When Wendy gets better and I'm praying she will, The Universe will Make Room For Her.

Well, when Oprah Winfrey first started her show they said she would never make it over Donahue Show but look what happen she succeeded..I do think people are tirer of hearing about the WW drama is can be very depressing so, I think WW season has ran out..I'm praying for Sherri that she succeed.

Sherri will do great! Keep in mind that Sherri is, “not new to this, she’s true to this”. With her extensive history in the entertainment business, Sherri is an OG in the industry. She will bring to the table her own massive circle of influence and support.
I am part of the general audience and I will support Sherri just as vigorously as I continue to support Wendy. And, I already see the shows as two separate entities. I pray for continued blessings, great health, and success for both Wendy and Sherri.

I have been a fan of Wendy's since her radio days so I do love watching and listening to her, but for now the show has to end if she can't return and that's ok. It would have been nice to have a celebratory farewell but it doesn't look like that will happen. I think a podcast is a great next chapter for her.
As for Sherri Shepherd.......I look forward to her new show and will be tuning in to watch everyday.
I hate that with Black entertainers we have to do this substitution/retraction. They both should have been elevated at the same time like Claudia said. Sherry could’ve already had a show. We need more black stars to exist on the same stages shoulder to shoulder with everyone else. Not replacing each other. We do not need to try to pit these women against each other. Why you think Jerry Springer and the Maury show has outlasted many of these talk shows.. Wendy's show is just more vocal. She says what many people are thinking about celebrities. She's been through a lot and I think the loss of her mother only added to her health issues and ex husband drama. Sometimes we can be too strong for too long and our bodies and minds will force us to slow down. Been there with much less responsibility than her and nowhere near the publicity level. Perimenopause on top of her lymphedema and Graves. She should have been taken a real time out.

Congrats to Sherri. I think she'll do well. I've tuned in a few times and I love her personality. She's absolutely nothing like Wendy. She comes to the show prepared, she actually watches the TV shows/movies/broadway plays that the celebs that are on the show come there to promote. Sherri doesn't spread rumors and has positive energy and will have a better guest list than Wendy.
Wendy never had any real A-listers on the show because of her bad reputation. Ellen was ran off her talk show and is her last year, so there is a spot for Sherri to succeed.

Wendy is very intelligent and probably playing the media like she played Kevin going to rehab as she was planning her divorce and his demise. With her health issues what better way to transition to a pod cast where she can sit home and do what's he does best. Granted she actually has health issues. Who's to say she is not playing sick to get out of her contract and to get off of t v esp with what She has had to face up with the loss of her mom and divorce . Only time will tell.

Pretty much the replacements we have been exposed to, we're trying to emuluate Wendy's show, the segments, etc. America didn't want Sherri, she isn't and wasn't a personality we asked to do her own show. Unfortunately, illness made it necessary but let's be honest folks were looking to be the next one to get a shot. Sorry but not getting behind this, it's wrong. She has to pay her dues like everyone else! anyone can come along and take someone's position but it'll NEVER be the same!
The ONLY reason folks have watched Sherri is because she's been sitting in for Wendy. I don't think folks will watch her own show, unfortunately. Now, if she had come out on her own and not as a sub for Wendy, then maybe, but didn't Sherri have a show years ago and it only got through one season? Exactly! The ratings didn’t go down because Sherri was entertaining and FILLING IN for her and the show didn’t stop because we all were hoping Wendy returned! It’s messed up they gave Sherri her job and staff! Sad!
The ratings were higher with Sherri than they were with Wendy. Wendy has been MIA for 7 months, and this hasn't been the first time she's been absent. Wendy is unreliable and time is money. I wish her well. Sherri will do just fine. She was on the View for several seasons. She's had a sitcom before but she's never had her own talk show. She's apparently very likeable. Unlike Wendy, she has very positive energy, doesn't spread rumors and is prepared when guests are on the show. I normally tune in when Sherri is guest hosting. She'll lose hardcore Wendy fans but will gain her own.
I expect that there won't be any real similarities between the two shows. No purple, no chair, no lipstick on her teeth, etc. Wendy has not been at work for the better part of a year and it was time to end it.
Wendy has plotted a plan. She is doing this to get off the hook for spousal support. Wendy never fell out of love with radio. Wendy will be back on a podcast or the radio. I think she will like Howard Stern.

I love Wendy. However she has gone through so much with her illness, struggle with substance abuse, awful ex-husband supporting the mistress with money Wendy earned, death of her mother, and on top of that a pandemic and isolation which leaves you alone with your thoughts, etc. The reported incident of her behaving inappropriately in front of several people is disturbing. Was she having a mental breakdown or was that a bad reaction to her meds or a result of alcohol or drugs? She really needs a strong support system right now. And though her son is an adult, he is still very young - it may be too much for him to handle alone. She really needs time to heal physically, spiritually and mentally, and I hope she gets there.
Meanwhile from what I read she is not returning phone calls, is not able to host at the moment yet does not approve of the lineup of guest hosts. Has she proposed hosts that she does approve of to hosts in her absence? And from what I understand her contract expires this year. The Wendy show is a business and lots of people rely on it for their livelihood.
Plans need to be made in the interim and long term.
As for Sherri, it’s one thing if Wendy is perfectly sound and healthy and just holding out for a better deal. But given the circumstances, if Wendy cannot do her show, something needs to be done. Sherri is not doing anything with ill-intent. If anything, I recall a Wendy episode where she was talking about Sherri at the time being considered for some show. Wendy had an unflattering picture of Sherri in the background and kept making the audience laugh by making fun of Sherri and saying basically that Sherri didn’t have the “look”. It seemed mean, but as the saying goes, “hurt people hurt people”.
Despite that, Sherri has been nothing but respectful. Plus Sherri is so deserving. She has been an actress, stand-up comic, panelist for The View, and a podcast host that just won an award. She has paid her dues.
Meanwhile, I do hope Wendy gets well and finds some peace and with it, happiness. If she is unable to return, it would be nice if they give her a proper send-off, perhaps a Farewell Episode. In addition, people have suggested that a podcast might be a great format for her next iteration. You don’t necessarily have to appear live during a podcast, just post a picture. She won’t have to worry about her appearance (for example be self-conscious of her swelling legs). She can focus on what she does best -TALK, like she did in her radio days. Either way, I really hope things start taking a turn for the better for her.🙏💕🕊

I don't believe that you guys understand that The Wendy Williams show failed because of the of the NON STOP challenges surrounding Wendy Williams.
Sherri Shepherd is exactly where she's supposed to be. I love Cher Shepherd and I would definitely be supporting her show and I believe ultimately Cher Shepherd it's funny enough, entertaining enough, and has a spiritual aura that invites good energy. And I believe those are key components to success in almost anything you do. Sheriff Shepherd sure will be successful.

I agree with Claudia and Q. They set Sherri up for failure. She is replacing Wendy and is Wendy fans aren’t tuning in for Sherri nor care for Sherri’s opinion. They should’ve created her own show and not on the back or as a replacement to Wendy’s.
Funky’s view is felt by many about Wendy building such a magnificent brand and not being done. And I agree w/him when he said he hopes Sherri’s show does well.
I don't know Dineva. People were also tuning out because of what Wendy Williams had to say. And because Sherri has had a long career in hollywood and a long stint as a host, in many mediums, and we haven't seen Wendy in almost a year, Over a year by the time Septemer comes around, I think Sherri will pretty much be established on her own right, and that correlation of well she's here because Wendy isn't won't be that strong.

Many of us like to listen to Sherri, so as for me I didn't have to tolerate her. I enjoy listening to her, purposefully! Hopefully, She will last way longer than what some people are claiming a short-lived show. She may not be salacious in gossiping about people, but the new fans may not care about all that gossiping.
Congratulations to Sherri,she has wanted a talk show since she was a child.I personally prefer Sherri, I like her positive vibes.She is not replacing Wendy.

I started watching The Wendy Williams show when Sherri guest hosted last year and she was really terrific. Since then I only tune in to see Sherri.
At some point Wendy will have an opportunity to get back what she has lost . The industry is big enough for the both of them.

I agree with Q! Nobody is sitting home wanting to know from Sherrie! Bless her heart, this isn't a good move for Sherrie. They see she is desperate to get a show, desperate to be famous, outside of D list famous & thirsty for a man. This isn't her lane. I don’t agree with Funky Diva about wanting another Wendy Williams! Actually people want to see something different especially after quarantine! People have reflected on their own lives and is ready for a new refreshing show with something new! Plus Wendy is an already neurotic person on her best days! The crazy has always been there it’s whether people wanted to acknowledge it! What I do agree is because she didn’t leave the way she wanted and she was embarrassed she is not ready to go! She wants to go when she wants and not before!

It’s topics that I hear in the news and I’m curious to hear”what Wendy has to say” both women are strong and I love them both as what they have to bring to the public. Congratulations to Sherri. Yes Sherri could never replace Wendy Williams but I don’t think she’s trying to. I hope when Sherri’s show starts in September, I hope it’s a whole new set up. The look and the feel of the show will be uniquely Sherri. I wish Wendy all the success in the world. I’m always rooting for the underdog. But I just want Wendy to take this time for Wendy to heal, rejuvenate and restore herself. Sometimes when you have a lot of people depending on you, sometimes a person loses themselves. God bless both of these phenomenal women!
I think people are smarter than you think, everyone knows the 2 shows are not the same. She's not REPLACING Wendy!! 2 separate shows. It's the public creating this disconnect. Sherri has already said she's not comfortable talking about people and doing all that gossip type genre.

Wendy said she never wanted her show to go beyond year 11 or 12. She has said this for years. Wendy said she wanted to transition out of the limelight and become a professor at NYU or another college teaching Media & Broadcasting. Also she said she wanted to go back to radio.
Yeah, I remember her saying those things. I hope she makes a big splashy comeback and shows everyone she’s still got it.

I don’t think Sherri is replacing Wendy. The show was declining way before Wendy disappeared. We haven't heard anything from her. I think someone from her team should have given us an update. Wendy left her fans hanging. If she was having issues with the executives, then speak up. The world invested 14 years in her show. I wish Wendy the best, but she needs to let everyone know what is going with her.
The Kelly Clarkson show replaced The Steve Harvey show; I didn't hear a lot of comparisons about that like I'm hearing about Wendy Williams vs. Sherri Shepherd. Wendy is letting her fans down by not being on TV with no explanation. Everybody is speculating about what's going on with her when she should speak out and let them know what's going on. I'm happy for Sherri, if it doesn't work out for her, she should just do it as long as she can while going to the bank.
