    Amazing video!! One thing I want to add on about high efficiency vs most compatible is that if you switch platforms like I do (MacBook and Windows) with high efficiency you will run into file issues which can be solved by downloading a software for the iPhone photos to be read but to avoid downloading software switching to most compatible allows my Windows computer to read the photos.
    I like to backup my personal photos to an external drive which is why I use most compatible but it does eat up your phone storage 🥹🥲

    I think the whole multiple camera lens option thing is really underrated. Yes Apple did misrepresent what is actually happening but the feature is still impressive when understood. This was actually introduced last year on the iPhone 14pro the only difference is there was only one additional focal lengths.
    The cameras are not actually zooming in. When you zoom in the phones takes the original format and multiply them to magnify the image. this results in larger pixels that ruin the sharpness of the image. What Apple is doing here is instead packing the cameras with enough megapixels to that only showing some of the available pixels would still produce a sharp image.
    The quality of this on the telephoto and ultra wide will be ok but where this really shines would be with the main camera and its simulated options. On my 14pro the 2x (simulated) length is my favorite lens by far. I’m not getting the 48mp I would normally get but I’m still getting 24mp which for anything viewed on a mobile device or a book would be substantial. But now I’m getting the option for a smaller field of view however retaining the same aperture and dynamic range curtesy of the main camera module.
    I normally keep my phones for 2-3 years and will do the same this year but I must admit this feature got my attention

    • @HughCorner
      @HughCorner Před 7 měsíci

      You're making it sound like a lot more than it is. All the camera app is doing is cropping the image to a preset size. That's really not all that groundbreaking.

    • @Artytanium
      @Artytanium Před 6 měsíci +2

      @@HughCornerit’s not cropping. Cropping is something different, read the comment again.

    • @BDThai
      @BDThai Před 5 měsíci

      Interesting because when I see cropping, to me the distortion would be the same vs. different fov then when use a zoom lens the distortion would be reduced. I tried to find information on that as I look for a camera with a good lenses option, but all seems to focus on wide angle, I am more into 35-90mm range. Is there a big difference between the 14-15 pros models I would really appreciate an honest recommendation. If differences are minimal I might save money and for for the 14 pro. The only thing I don’t like is the fake bokeh on video I go a pretty bad example

I tend to use it for low angle macro more than anything else. I need to go back and review some iPhone 13 tutorials before heading to the Smokeys. Do you use 48 MP or do you just shoot on the 12 MP?
    To give some background of my question: I understand the camera does have 48 MP, but use a quad colour filter (ie, 4 pixels would be covered by one colour filter, as opposed to each have their own colour filter in a classic arrangement ). The de-mosaic algorithm doesn’t always produce a more detailed shots with this colour filter arrangement. Shooting at 48 MP also means you can’t use some of the main features of a quad-sensor, like HDR or noise reduction (the four pixels behind a colour filter are treated as the same pixel but could be fired simultaneously with different settings for HDR, or with the same settings to average out the noises).

      @Kerbacho Před 6 měsíci

      @@007SpencerForHire No, the noise reduction is always there. For a phone it's good though, but in low light it becomes too aggressive what makes the higher dynamic range of the Proraws pretty useless. The thing is. Raw editing and noise reduction algorithms improve over the years, but you never will be able to use these improvements on Proraw files since there already is Apples noise reduction baked in.

      As a 15 promax and GR3X user the answer is, not really. Especially in low light situations. The tiny sensor in the phone simply cannot compete with an APSC camera. That said, a lot of it really depends on what you shoot and what you want to do with the photos. As a previous commentor stated, the 15 pro/promax camera, sensors etc. are leagues above the 11. You may very well be satisfied with the shots from the phone.

      Iphone 15 has a different smaller 48mp sensor, 15 pro has the exact same sensors on all three lenses (which have a new coating) like last years 14 pro but smart hdr 5 and photonic engine always active only the 5x zoom on the Pro Max and the LiDAR sensors got upgraded (thou LiDAR is pretty much useless change my mind)

      Hmmm hasn’t happened to me but it could be a over heating reaction. That’s when my phone does that. Maybe it’s the file size or just apple being apple and slowing down an older phone

    • @ODHunte
      @ODHunte Před 8 měsíci

      Yes it dims when the phone over heats. It also dimms when charging on in a case so using light room while doing all of the above makes it dim significantly.

    what about the selfie camera? i heard that after taking a seflie iphone 15 series, seems to mess with the colors and aren't as vibrant and vivid and natural as seen in the prep of the photo before taking it. I guess people were so used to take selfies that smoothed their skin etc that now that the camera makes them more realistic they don’t like it 😂.
