    Anyone who's seen Kristen's work in films like Personal Shopper, Clouds of Sils Maria, Certain Women, Camp X-Ray, Speak to name a few would know how nuanced and mesmerizing her performances are. She's way overdue in my opinion.

    People were so negative when they found out Kristen was going to portray Diana and I'm glad she has proven them wrong. I can't wait to see this movie! I am totally rooting for her to win the Oscar. It's gonna be interesting to see a race between her, Chastain and Hudson. and perhaps McDormand too.

    • @K0m30ng
      @K0m30ng Před 2 lety +2

      Kristen was the most unexpected choice to play Diana and I think her performance actually worked because of the filmmakers behind the camera who made this movie. Pablo Larrain is an excellent director, Pablo directed her performance in Spencer, he knows what he's doing to Kristen and he absolutely knows how to get the actors to give an great performance. It has proven that in Jackie where Natalie Portman earned an Oscar nomination for her role. With a great director behind the camera, comes great performance

      @@vironworks5952 it's crazy to me that people think Kristen isn't gonna nailed this but don't know who actually directed her performance. Yeah at first I was concern about Kristen being Diana but after the announcement that Pablo Larrain would be directing, there's actually hope and i was right, the man did it again!!! He's responsible for Kristen's performance and he did a fantastic job. The writer of the movie also wrote Peaky Blinders so he definitely did enough research considering how important Diana is to his country, he doesn't wanna ruined it's story

    • @vironworks5952
      @vironworks5952 Před 2 lety +3

      @@K0m30ng I would assume these "people" are just the general public who made their judgement based on the casting choice without considering the ability of the director and the writer. They probably never even heard of Pablo Larrain. The public simply couldn't picture Kristen as Diana without the makeup, the wig and the costume, and nobody knew how she was going to approach the accent. I had doubts too at first.

    • @K0m30ng
      @K0m30ng Před 2 lety

      @@vironworks5952 yeah true, at first I couldn't even picture Kristen as Spencer, I liked her a lot as an actress but playing Diana? That's a stretch, thank goodness she can nailed the role with Larrain directing it. Even in the trailer's tagline "From The Director Of Jackie" that should already tell you that you are ready for a great movie with a great performance. And for her accent, it's not just accent coach, there's also the supporting cast like Sally Hawkins and Timothy Spall who both are natural British and they both probably help Kristen with her accent too

    A Tribute to Lady Diana Spencer - well said, sir🎆 Very important to realize that she was not more than a child (16) when PC first laid eyes on her...and still only in her teens as a mother amidst the most powerful - and arguably most sinister - families in the world. Kristin Stewart took on an historic role, directed phenomenally well.❤.
    The Spencers are of ancient British aristocracy - unlike the German family that occupies the British Throne. Naturally, an unspoken civil war emerged, almost from the onset. Whether the current Royals can & do retain their grip on England remains to be seen...there is a rumbling afoot. 🤷‍♀Stay tuned+ 🙏🏼

    I didn’t really know much about the Story of Princess Diana coming into this movie, but after watching this I really connected with her. You could tell Kristen Stewart was extremely connected to her in this role her acting was flawless. I loved the color pallet they used for this film and the hazy, grainy filter which made you think it was filmed in the 80s. Also the way and was shot and the score at some points really did a good job of making you uncomfortable which is exactly what Diana was feeling in that given moment. As I said earlier I didn’t really know Diana’s story coming into this so towards the end when it’s revealed that she was bi/bi-curious with Maggie I was rolling with it. But then I got home and did some research and there’s not really a shred of evidence that that is true. I guess it kind of pushes the story along and makes it work, but it seems like agenda projection onto Diana know that I know that she was never so much as rumored to be bi/bi-curious.

      @K0m30ng Před 2 lety +2

      It's just a movie god dammit, she doesn't have to look exactly 100% like Diana. There have been many actors who played real life people but the actors themselves look nothing like the real life people. Take an example of Natalie Portman as Jackie Kennedy, she looks absolutely nothing like Kennedy but she managed to give an excellent performance and nailed the personality of Kennedy. Same goes to Kristen, as long as she can give a excellent performance and nailed the personality of Diana, it should be fine for her

      @@K0m30ng Ups... but Natalie Portman did a great job, Stewart didn't, the movie looks old and it is really boring, almost depresing... and Stewart almost looked like a crazy teenager... while Diana never talked like a psycho and there is even prvate videos of her with her kids, also Stewart speach was bad and the script is terrible.

      @@blakegt.7326 Lmao, "looks boring" you haven't watch the movie how can you judge a movie without even seeing it yet. No matter what people say about the story, many can agree than Kristen did a great job playing Diana. She was great as Diana, she deserved an Oscar nomination. Even Diana's former bodyguard and the same chef that was portrayed by Sean Harris in this movie praised her performance with her former bodyguard calling it "the closest portrayal of Diana in the past 10 year" and what do you mean it will be fanbase related? Since when winning an Oscar is fanbase related? Makes yourself look stupid. Winning an Oscar is if the performance is worthy enough and Kristen's performance is worthy enough for an Oscar nomination. You're just dissappointed that the reviews for the movie didn't sucked and Kristen's performance was wildly praised, talk about instant karma for the haters. It looks old because it looks like it was made in the 90s because of the movie's setting god dammit just like David Fincher's Mank that took place in the 40s and he made the movie like it was made in the 40s. What's wrong with a movie that looks old? Ridiculous argument lol. Also a psycho? They didn't portrayed Diana like a serial killer anyways, that's stupid and disrespectful. And Wdym private videos of her with her kids? They literally didn't use any footage from Diana's real life. And Diana's life isn't always a happy life, she suffered mental health and eating disorders, of course it sounds depressing

      @@K0m30ng I already watched the film... and it is even worst than the trailer.... acting is horrific the film is boring as hell, it looks old and color grading is ugly, the script is as bad as it can possibly be and everything is terrible.

    • @K0m30ng
      @K0m30ng Před 2 lety +1

      @@blakegt.7326 Yeah I know this movie ain't gonna be for everyone anyways. Kristen got a standing ovation at Venice Film Festival and the reviews for her movie is great, so there's a possible Oscar nomination chance for her. And the fact that you say "it looks old" what the fuck, it's so ridiculous. What's wrong with a movie that looks so old. This movie takes place in the 90s so it make sense why they made the movie like it was in the 90s with this color grading. It's a beautiful looking movie anyways. There are aspect of the script that quite nail about Diana anyways, even again, her former bodyguard praised Kristen's performance and the movie itself which means he knows the script of the movie is good. Again, look at David Fincher's Mank, it looks old but it's intended to look old because of the movie's setting. Complaining a movie that "looks old" is the dumbest issue I've ever seen. Many old movies aged so well and people still watch it till this day. And meh Kristen was great as Diana, just wait till she gets lots of award nomination for her performance in which she truly deserved it. It has nothing to do with fanbase (since when Oscars win has anything to do with fanbase) it's about the quality of her performance

  • @noellet62able

    This movie was so incredibly depressing and painted Diana as this frail weak boring woman . When in reality she had her own affairs & was fun & had so many celebrity friends. She was sassy and enjoyed her later life before her death . This movie was rubbish but yes Kristen can act.I think this movie is incredibly insensitive to her children. It must so hard for them to see these scenes of their mother self harming and going through an eating disorder but to then make her suicidal.. the whole movie was absolutely tonedeaf. Diana was not a weak Boring woman this director portrayed her to be.

    I doubt she will win an Oscar for this. You need two out of three factors to win. Either a critic's score above 90 and an audience rating above 80, or great reviews and good box office. If you have two of the three, you win, if you have great reviews but lousy audience ratings and no box office, then you only have 1 of the 3, and you can't win. ,
    No one is saying Spencer needs to make a fortune but the fact is, it's being rejected by moviegoers, both at the box office and in their ratings. The audience score on RT is only 50.
    The Academy does NOT reward movies or performances like that.
    At this point, she will be lucky to get a nomination. The box office went down 28% in its second weekend, there is no way it can make a profit, and Neon has already announced the dvd release will be on Jan. 9th.
