I tried to be patient but I just had to try out my new RSeat Formula Monocoque seat. I have been planning a full update and rebuild of my current United Sim Co. motion simulator and last week I received the new RSeat A160 Formula chassis that I will be using. I won’t be performing the updated build for a few weeks and so I had planned to wait and not use the seat until I had the simulator fully updated with the new RSeat chassis. But after staring at the seat for days now, I just couldn’t wait any longer.
I removed the Sparco GP formula style monocoque seat I have been running for the past 1.5 years from my United Sim Co. motion simulator and bolted the Sparco brackets to the RSeat formula seat. WOW! Not only is the new seat probably half the weight of the Sparco GP, it’s much more comfortable due to its overall better design, form, and materials. I’ll save the rest of the details and review / comparison for a full story on UnitedSim.co in the coming months. In the meantime, here’s a hotlap in the amazing @VirtualRacingCars Formula Alpha 23 v1.4 mod for Assetto Corsa w/ Content Manager. The lap is at the Chinese GP Shanghai Circuit hosted on the @euroracers_net 2024 F1 Fast Lap Championship Server.
This lap was actually painful as I nearly bested my current PB (1:29.098) but lost it with a bad entry / exit in final the final corner. Oh well..
