Thanks for the tips. I'm just a beginner doing xc for fun.
Same

Great content, thank you. I like how you skipped the elementary issues and addressed what the more experienced racer might need to work on.
Thanks Tom, some useful tips there. Glad you've started to post up vids again. Keep up the good work.
Excellent tips! I had never thought about some of these details before. Thank you!
Great info thanks. Also make sure you’re in the right gear on the start line.

Great tips. I'm going to use them for my race coming up this next weekend.
Agree with aero. Only in the past few years do you see downhill riders starting to tuck instead of mashing the pedals. 2 chainless wins so far.
FANTASTIC video! Thanks for the useful tips and good luck in Andorra!
Darn that real world!
Well, here's to crushing it in Les Gets!
Awesome tips, I will watch this video as a reminder before races from now on.

Tip 12 I have been racing cross country for 4 years now and I have never pressed lap I am going to try to do that this Saturday
Most computers do it automatically
I'm knew but I like the channel
What tyre are using in the back, especially when you know that the track has long rock gardens. Thanks
Thanks for the info, how do you train for a 40k mtb marathon race ? Whit 1000m of elevation?
tip number 8, I have a question. If any snack between the 3 hours pre meal and racing, should it be low caloric and glycemic index?
Great vid, very thorough. Got my first XC race this Saturday. I usually wear knee pads when I mtb ride, but I’m constantly seeing vids of XC races where no one is wearing pads, so I’m wondering if I should skip the pads that day. Thoughts?
Typically pads aren’t needed for XC riding and you will really never see anyone wearing them.
How did your race go?
Can you give some mtb tips for training with a powermeter
Any tips on first lap pacing?
If it's xco you don't pace at all. Too short of a race. All out.
You dont need to push (for xc ) and have a good pace in the race
Great tips Tom! I have a race tomorrow, what pressure should I setup my tyres, maxxis Aspen's? Thank you
The track is mainly through the forest, small part asphalt on the finish/start?
@@tombellHNP Thank you very much, btw I am about 58kg :)
I am doing xc racing and can I know what bike you use
all round solid, only one issue: why choose an inefficient pedalling form while trying to smooth power output? I get it for surges.
Additionally you'd need to lock your suspensions to not lose too much energy as a not locked out rear will usually not have enough anti-squat to counter a rider jumping up and down on the bike, else it's a trash system anyway.
I like to save the lock-out levers and stay seated and have excellent traction buuuut well, since I got that bike I've yet to do XC races (haven't done any in 2 years, but want to in a month).
Thanks Tom,but how to manage hard breathing during the race
Practice nose breathing
W video
While racing xc should your turn your suspension on
What’s a better bike for XC racing , hard tail or full suspension?
If you can afford a full suspension bike, definitely buy it but if you can't hardtail is not a bad choice !! I bought a hardtail cube aim race 2020 29" and its cheap (around 540€ ... I know it doesnt sound cheap but for the value of this bike its unbelievable) hope you keep doing this sport and peace ! From Greece
Orestis Moschos I have a full suspension stump jumper , but wanna do a few XC races so I was looking @ the Santa Cruz Highball ...
Peace from the states -California 🤙🏻
doin my first race in 2 weeks
My first xc race since the start of covid tomorrow, I’m 40 watts down, 6 kilograms up..... any tips for that? 🤣😂🤦🏻♂️
Hmm, hope for the best? 😄 In all seriousness, you might have a higher sprint power you can deploy! Other than that, try not to blow up on the first lap by going out too hard (really easy to do) and capitalise on others not pacing their effort well. Best of luck!
After about 3 years the last Keurig stopped working czcams.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf initially was able to unblock, however eventually we couldn't fix. That one was a replacement unit sent by the manufacturer after we had problems with our very first Keurig. This works fine (lol, at least for now) however I didn't realize the water reservoir was so much smaller than our prior unit. With 2 people having one or two cups of coffee each morning, it seems like I'm refilling it daily. Otherwise just happy to have the convenience of pod coffee vs. making a morning pot.
Is it okay to play xc but my crank is 3by
I was searching for lap to lap time
Are clipless pedals really necessary?
For competitive XC racing, they definitely are. For general MTB riding, not so much 👍
This is a list of WHAT to do, not really HOW.
Would it be a good idea to take a gel every lap of a xc race?
I wouldn't do that, however, it depends on the lap length. Two gels should be enough for 4 laps.
Your giving tips or giving chances to defeat you ?
Oh boy. You should NEVER leave your bike laying down in the middle of the trail
