  • Bees and butterflies are important pollinators for flowers and food. We can attract them to our gardens by growing native flowers, and protect them by gardening without pesticides. Adding bee blocks to your garden will provide a home for many gentle native bees, like Mason bees. It is important every year to clean the bee blocks and bee cocoons in the bee blocks, to prevent bacteria and mite infestations that can harm the bees. This video provides step by step instructions for cleaning the bee cocoons in the fall.
