  • As you get older, your brain health may decline due to factors such as shrinking brain volume, reduced blood flow, and inflammation. This can affect your memory, cognition, and mood, and increase your risk of developing neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and dementia. Fortunately, you can support your brain health by eating a balanced diet that includes foods rich in antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B6, and other nutrients that protect and nourish your brain cells. In this article, we will introduce you to 10 of the best foods for brain health after 50, and explain how they can benefit your brain function and overall well-being.

A lot of YT videos recommending ppl eat dark chocolate need to be updated with this rather not new news:
Consumer Reports issued a story on the dangers of heavy metals found in all brands of dark chocolate. Anybody can Google it.
Apparently in the manufacturing process is where both Lead and Cadmium are added to the chocolate we all eat. Doesn't matter if it's organic, exotic brands other than Hershey's--any and all brands of the 28 tested had some level of one or both heavy metals. There is no known safe level of either element humans can ingest.
More recently, this study has been undated and reports that 40 brands of milk chocolate products like hot cocoa mixes also have detected Lead & Cadmium in them.
For years, I had 70+% dark chocolate I would eat with my morning coffee. I now have neurological pain in my left leg. This doesn't run in my family.
There is no known way to rid the body of these heavy metals, either.
This is a warning! I would stay away from anything that has cocoa or chocolate in it, especially if your pregnant, or have any chronic illness.

Blueberries; impossible to find on a tiny hot island in the Philippines. Fatty fish and walnuts I can get and do so, mainly Sardines. It is worth noting that you don't mean Hershey's dark chocolate, which is full of sugar? Coffee keeps me up at night, so I get less sleep. Even one cup in the day does it.

I’m bound to skip the salmon as most is farmed with frequent antibiotics and who knows what else.
