It's cute that they call it a hike like it's a strenuous task....we just call it an afternoon walk haaha
lol, yeah
There is now a RÄhui placed on the Mermaid Pools, this means no further access to the pools in an attempt restore to their environment, cultural and spiritual wellbeing. If you go to Matapouri please observe this!
Till they build a Donald Trump wall around it and tax people $50 each to use the pools.
I was very pleased to see this comment right at the top of the list and someone had mentioned it. Thank you.
@@Dannyvirk Till Hillary Clinton gets into power and bombs Russia.
Frances Long i luckily got to go there before it was closed such a beautiful place sad to see this happen :(
Your openness and willingness to appreciate the new and different things that you are experiencing is refreshing and indicates a communion with the rest of the world. American people who have a loving and open heart like you guys are welcomed and a blessing to humanity. Lots of love
I'm from NZ so I eat pies very often, but for any Americans who can't come this far, the Polynesian Cultural Center in Haiwaii has a Maori food stand that features a 'savoury' pie. They don't have the massive range of flavours you get at a NZ bakery, but the flight to Hawaii is a lot shorter! :D Some people complain that pies aren't 'proper' Maori food, and while that's true in that they're not 'traditional', _many_ Maori tradesmen live on pies for lunch (or fish and chips).
Great video Ash and Josh! So neat seeing you both in NZ. Itâs great seeing home through someone elseâs eyes. Loved it!
This was a very well done vlog. I loved the cinematography and the music. Kudos! âïžâïžâïžâïžâïž
Luv ur positive vibe on exploring n enjoying parts of Aotearoa/New Zealand, sharing ur journey thru out the globe. Thnx you Ash n Josh
Woah, these videos make me homesick. I come from Auckland and have spent so much time in tutukaka but I live in Perth. This video was so so well filmed. I could follow your journey and knew where you were the whole way. Well done. :)
That editing was amazing. The music when you saw the dolphins was like watching a movie. Great Great job.
Found you guys through the endless adventureâs channel and you guys did not disappoint. Love the videos!
so weird seeing places that i drive EVERY day and you seeing it as an adventure. Glad to see you liked it. â€ïž
I live in Whangarei so it's really weird to see it in a video like this XD It is definitely considered a city, not a small town tho
Haha yea it's the biggest city in Northland hahaha
Same here Im from Te kuiti Hardy anyone knows about it but these guys are so cringe
@@mariamcewan-jones3525 then don't watch it lol you sound like a typical small minded person that you get from people that live in small towns đ€Łđ€Ł
Epic dolphin sequence. Felt like a movie. Music spot on. Cue the goosebumps. And omg the glow worm footage looked like stars in the sky! So cool!!
I have spent two years in New Zealand. Now your video gives me so much nostalgia!
What a beautiful video, NZ is absolutely gorgeous and when the dolphins swam by being a little silly and hamming it up for the camera, it was so cool!
Cinematography and music on point, as usual! đ NZ looks so serene. I can't wait to visit!
Here I am, watching all the ads, lovin' your vids as usual.
I got a little choked up watching you swim with the dolphins!! So special.
Whangarei is my hometown, I live in Brisbane Australia now though. I miss nz pies so much.

Amazing experience with the Dolphins , wow. Thanks for sharing again :)

Thank you Znerea! Hope you get to visit!
The swimming with dolphins music was a beautiful choice! Loving seeing NZ guys. Can't believe savory pies are not a thing in America!
Love those pics of the glow worms đ oh my gosh I was nervous when you were walking across that branch! I am with you on that road trip pie life, we recently did a South Island road trip and I made it my mission to try every vegan pie available in our gas stations (a few times each, they were so good đł) as a breakfast on driving days. You guys are finding some great spots I still havenât been to yet.
Amazing videos. Thanks for visiting our homeland
born and raised in bay of islands

Oh my gosh Josh made my heart jump into my throat when he was crossing that log!!! Ashley, like myself has mastered the art of Dr Dolittle's communication with wildlife đ€Ł I love animals!!! In the UK, we love our savoury pies with mashed potatoes and liqeur (parsley sauce). You need to go to the east end of London and get a proper pie đđđ lol to Allison's posing !! What a beautiful experience with the dolphins đ
Cool , i didn't watch your channel in a while , nice videos đ
Lovely & chilled video... :)
I like that the little info cards (helpful) don't distract from the scenery...
As an Aussie, I love me some meat pies...
As a South Aussie, we have "Pie Floater"...
A pie floating on a bed of mushy peas, covered in sauce...
That sounds really good; I will have to check that out!
What a great experience swimming with the dolphins. Loved the song too! Off to watch Tidbit Tuesday! :o)
I really enjoyed your video I wish you success my friend God bless you.
I live in nz so know exactly what theyâre doing but itâs so cool to see people do things that arenât normal tasks in America like eating a pie
Makatu pies are the best I love watching your experiences I'm my home country heaps of love from Rotorua
If you ever get back to New Zealand ,visit the Hot Pools.Love your adventures.
Loving these vlogs with the endless adventure nice your spending alot of time with them and not a flying visit . Your vlogs blend so well great not watching the same thing twice haha. Xxx
P.s can't wait for the camper vlogs woop woop.x
Beautiful video. The glow worm cave photo was so pretty! Glad you didn't even die once on that log, Josh! Seems appropriate with Ashley's love of water to end up in a mermaid pool. And, I know she was in heaven swimming with the dolphins.
You know us so well đđđđ Ash
Omygoodness so beautiful. Hope you 4 had a wonderful time!
Josh's knee's though. ;-D
was amazing vlog
Iâve done the exact route ...god I love NZ
I have a meat pie every Friday. The bakery on the corner of Leonard and Panorama in Mt Wellington has about 20 varieties of pies.
Here in the UK we love our pies, both savoury and sweet. Your chicken and mushroom pie was wrapped in Filo pastry and looked yummy. I've only ever had Filo pastry wrapped around Baklava in Greece and Strudel in Austria/Germany,both sweet so my taste buds have something to look forward to with it being wrapped around meat......The bird with the yellow beak is a common Myna, famous for mimicking human speach.
Omg that bird was amazing
Come on come on come on đđđ
I want to live in New Zealand đ i have been in Sweden but i think next is already in my mind
Love indian curry pie, and steak and mushroom! đđŠđș
wowwww.... thts so cool..
The uk are big on savoury pies chicken ,beef ,steak n kidney we love pie and mash
Savoury pies are both a NZ and Aussie thing. However buying savoury pies in a supermarket are not the best, always buy from a proper bakery outlet.
Karen Burden true, true, true. Stay away from the supermarket pies, not the real thing
i like this channel
but did anyone else cringe from the way they said Whangarei?
Yes, but it's kinda cute.
think she pronounced it pretty good
at least she tried pronouncing it correctly lol coz most ppl don't, so yeah. chur
he tried too, not quite as good as she said it lol
@@Vulcan. yeah
Oh my Gosh guys! That bird and wildlife amazing!!! Lol and so funny!! Loved that pie and yes - had amazing pies of all kinds in the US and UK :D So beautiful there especially the highlight of swimming with the dolphins! Always inspired by you all :D
Weâre so glad you enjoyed it! We really tried to capture the magic we experienced while traveling there.
@@WAYAWAYWithAsh awww absolutely! I love all of your videos and always enjoy them. Especially how informative you are about prices and are very honest about whether something is truly bad or good. I think regardless of the opinions out there that honesty is what matters most :) I also enjoy what a cute couple you guys are and especially the cuteness of Ashley lol She always makes me laugh. You both remind me a lot of my husband and I when we travel too :)
We have savoury pies in South Africa too :)
Savoury pies are more common than sweet pies here in Scotland :)
Nice Video
Welcome to New Zealand I hope you enjoy our little piece of Heaven.
Yes, a pot pie! đđ„§, Jean from Arizona đŠđđŠđŽđ”âïž
Hey Guys, you got some awesome footage of the dolphins!!!! Looks like you got to swim with Luna (the dolphin swimming upside down @ 12:07) - awesome stuff, think i will be watching your channel from now on, Marty (your Skipper on D3)
Marty!!! Thanks for watching! Thats so cool that you recognize the dolphins! Thanks for a great time out!
Spent 3 weeks in NZ in 2001. Honeymoon in a campervan :D
One difference, people get up early! Arrive in a new (rural) town after 7 or 8 pm, and the only place open for food was a "pie wagon" parked near a pub. Everyone would be up and away in their campervans at 6am, we would be getting up at 9am to find an empty campsite!
Haha thereâs so much to see and so little time. :) we for sure had some early mornings. -Ash
Thats a Indian Minor bird in SA ow yes and there is a hamburger pie in SA ....soooooo good.Keep up the good work love your videos.
Whanga -ray is how you pronounce it. Try a Steak Bacon and Cheese pie, really good.
I used live in whangaeri I love it up there & now I live in Christchurch all so a great City
so weird to see you going past my little town - cool though
Nice
I use real glow worms to catch eels biggest I've caught was nearly a metre long. Found beneath tee tree groves.
At 1:02 the jeep in front of you is my grandparentâs!
What an adventure how beautiful by the way this chicken pot pie count eight that when I was little
Orale que chido video amigos especial mente del pajarito que abla jajajaja que chido saludos
@2:34sec this shot is unbelievable !!!
Omg it's been YEARS since I've seen glow worms in person.
Did you pay a visit to Kawhia?
I live in NZ. Pies have been a staple in my diet for my whole life. My earliest memory of eating was mince and cheese pies. I can;t get enough of them, however its not the healthiest food, so eat in moderation. P.S. Mince/steak and cheese is the best by at least double. Chicken pies are just not the same.
Hey first comment x
'have you ever had a savory pie.' I live on them. :)
okay, a while ago I heard from another CZcams that if you skip the ad that they wouldn't get paid for that. is that true?
Just amazing....lol
Omg i live in mangonui and i am so sad that I didnât see you
Spotted you guys at the Packhouse Market Kerikeri.
You did!!! Ahh so sad we missed out meeting you! -Ash
Great editing , almost like watching a movie. đđ»
How was the water temp there?
Just a point to know, the Mermaid Pools have been closed to public access due to tourist pollution by the local Maori Iwi (Tribe) who owns the land the Mermaid Pools are located in.
love savoury pies being a kiwi
I'm from NZ,sooooo yeah I've had a savory pie or 2 XD
It's so bizarre seeing you at waipu caves, it's somewhere I go all the time, and seeing it on youtube is weird. Not bad weird, just weird.
I live in the Bay of Islands and am lucky enough to have kiwi nesting in my yard just had a survey done and have five nests three have eggs. I lie in bed at night and listen to them 5 metres from my window.
itâs weird seeing them drive down roads that i have driven down and stuff like that
Bad life for the glow worm .How it know if he should mate with it or eat it?
This video deserves an award. If you could see me now I am giving you a standing ovation. :)
I just realised I went to this place about a year ago the place I stayed is right next to Matapouri bay
Did you enjoy it?
