As James Vasanthan said ARR will never talk about money matters. He is a quiet man of few words! On the other hand, IR loves to openly talk about all sorts of things including this matter, and finally unnecessarily he gets into controversies. He could have easily avoided this topic. I also feel South Indian Cine Music Union is not a professional organization to collect royalties from commercial users. IR may be disappointed again after 6 months! Wait & watch!!
Got clarity about Copyrights and Royalty !! Initially have some feelings about Raja sir without having this royalty knowledge and now got a clear picture.But people's who scolded the Raja sir should get their words back with an apology!! He done music for more than 1000 movies , if really he was an money minded definitely unable reach this target!!Hats off Raja sir!! Thank you James vasath sir to clarify this!!

After digital tech in recording, most of the musicians lost emoyment. Many have gone for playing in troupes. As vasantha n says even 1% is big amount, then 20% is a huge income for musicians association
If heciscreally mo ney minded, raja would not have come across iprs. He believesvhis own association. So now the greatest responsibility on shoulders of musician union!

A.R.Rahman doing all in proper and right way. He is the one who started giving regaganize to all singers & instrument players. Before Rahman no one did this. Rahman gives identity to everyone which is more than all. And he never claimed that he is the one for all. He is earning and giving also. More than all you also a composer and you know very well who is helping more to music industry. When you canvey something do it properly ( like ARR )

First of all, Ilaiyaraja composed more than 7000 songs in films, seperate divine albums, symphony, world fusion almums, oratorio like many. So it's very difficult to maintain by IPRS. As said by James vasanthan he is very comfortable with IPRS because he has composed tiny bits of the songs when compared to Ilaiyaraja. Not only James vasanthan, even ARR also very comfort with IPRS, because ARR also composed less number of songs which includes his Hollywood packages. Ilayaraja unable to get his copyright amount property from IPRS due to very huge pack of songs, he is unhappy and come out from IPRS, and is able to collect amount through Cine musicians union. For this help he is paying 20 % from his royalty amount for the members, who are under poverty. One drop from the Ilayaraja's copy right amount can save many families at a time. Here also he can make a record. Understand his part
