Trout Bonanza in LEAVITT Meadow on the West Walker |

I continued my 5 day trip in the Eastern Sierras with a 6 mile hike starting at the LEAVITT Meadow Trailhead, turning around at Roosevelt Lake and ending back at the LEAVITT Meadow Trailhead. All of the hike was in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, but I did cross into the Hoover Wilderness for a short bit. The views were remarkable and the hike was steep in a few areas, but not quite advanced.
The Wild Trout fishing was incredible. They weren’t big, but made up for their size being very aggressive, often engulfing dry flies as soon as they plopped on the water. So many Rainbow Trout were caught and even a couple Brook Trout.
