- I visit White House Subs in Atlantic City for National Cheesesteak Day… but I try both their amazing Cheesesteak Sub and their Classic Italian Sub. And I meet some friends along the way.

I grew up on the South Jersey Shore
Atlantic City & Margate City to be exact.
You Don't know what you are missing!
The White House Italian bread is delicious!
So many wonderful family memories of the shore!

I came to the shop probably in between 1968 or the 1970 my dad worked at the race track...one day he came home saying he had found a great sub place...and took us the next week to try it....amazing and we would go or he brought a big sub home.....i am from Montreal Canada and i never forgot how good it was...!
My bday is March 23 and glad to know the 24th is National Cheesesteak Day!! I’ll be at Hard Rock that weekend!! Nice
Been all over the country. Nothing comes close! The bread cannot be replicated and is the key. #1 sandwich in the country and it’s not close.
World's Best Cheesesteaks. Death to "wiz". We'd go to WH for lunch takeout like 4 days a week (1984-87). After casino morning shift, around 1 pm. The daily fresh bread is from bakery across the street since the '50s. Water for the dough comes from under the south Jersey Pine Barrens. My perfect WH classic cheesesteak: grilled onions & green peppers, shredded lettuce, salt/pepper, provolone, & beef steak. On hot grilled roll. Back then, I got the mayo on the bread. Today, I bring my own creamy horseradish sauce. The horseradish kick goes straight thru your sinuses... out the top of your head. I think we paid like $6.25 back then (full). Nostalgia...

I spent years travelling this country and by far the best subs anywhere are from White House, hands down.

I've never been to White House Subs. We're heading to AC next month but we're skipping WH this go around and checking out Sugar Hill in Mays Landing per many suggestions on South Jersey Food Scene.
I saw that! Ranked in that NJ.com list. The big surprise for me was Brynn Brandly in Woodbury being ranked #2. I was just there 2 weeks ago for a post but I walked in at lunch and they were too busy... havent been back yet
Sugar Hill is good, but not as good as White House.
Which one did you like better the sub or cheesesteak, taking the trip in a few months

Get any of their cold cut subs! Fresh and phenomenal. It’s not to be missed!
I usually get half a cheesesteak to eat there and half a special to take home, both are really good.
Sugar Hill Sub & Deli is good too.

Exactly. Hoagie is an annoying, made up word, which originated in Phila. So annoying.
Yep, hat's why it's called a sub shop.
