- Palworld is being called a Pokémon rip off time and time again, but a lot of the things people say about Palworld are just flat out not true. So I'd like to talk about what makes Palworld different and why it's not a Pokémon rip off at all

3:17 "You don't get attached to Pals in Palworld"
strangely this is what i felt with pokemon because mostly the only bonding time you could get was when you fight together.
Honestly fair, there is one Pal that I've been keeping on my team despite having better options and that's Quivern. I love that fluffy little dragon he comes in clutch so often
@@TheRogueRenegadeI was gonna say the same thing I feel a little more attached to my pals than my Pokemon. I can pet them and feed them and they make happy sounds and look so happy when they help finish a job. You don’t have to be cruel to your pals it’s just an option I like being more kind
I built emotional connections with my own Pokémon from Gen 3 and transferred them to each new generation. Gen 8 killed my tradition after Dexit and finding nothing worth in the games to continue. I got more disgusted with Gen 9 removing the ability for having movesets you worked on, plus removing event only moves. From that, I walked away, plus the Pokemon games keep lowering the quality of the games. It feels like Pokémon is anti-legacy regarding the transfers these days.
Thing is most of the pals look like shit
Plus your pals can actually do something if they aren't apart of you're A team
Instead of sitting in a box
"This thing is Piplup."
Yes, it's called a penguin.
Why did this make me laugh for 20 minutes straight
This is essentially how I feel after seeing literally any of the “copyrighted pals.” Like Lamball and Woolo, their just both sheep, they will look sort of similar. But if you actually look at the designs, and personality you see the many differences in them.
There’s a penguin in this game that’s napoleon Bonaparte, stop the BS
@@Chaos706it’s so obvious they took heavy inspiration though. The lamb elk comparison is not the only thing being mentioned here
@@Chaos706verdash,boltmane,azurobe there are so many pals you can mention here. Just because their are like two bad comparisons doesn’t automatically make it in valid
What the pokemon company can learn from palworld: stop rushing the devs and just let them work
Like seriously, just make some more charizard merch. You'll make your money anyway.
I doubt that will happen, the more games they release, the more money they earn, no matter how incomplete they are, after all, the numbers still continue to rise.
@@diostaku2 that's why I said to just make more charizard merch
@@_StarlightRose_ You don't understand, right? It has nothing to do with Charizard, but rather releasing new Pokémon, a new generation is simply a platform to have more options to sell more merchandise, which always sells well in addition to the sales of Pokémon things that already exist.
It's literally a cumulative thing, and in terms of marketing it makes sense, so the blame literally lies with the average Pokemon consumer.
@@diostaku2 the merchandise is what makes most of tpci's money, not the games
people will buy any merch they make, really
and charizard is unfortunately still the most popular pokemon out there
@@_StarlightRose_ You are not understanding, games have not been the central focus for a long time, but they are what is used as a promotional platform for new pokemon and therefore, new merchandise.
It is literally the same as when a manga or LN receives an animated adaptation to attract the attention of more people, simply the evolution of the classic promotional advertisements.
3:17 "You don't get attached to Pals in Palworld"
This keeps getting brought up by Pokephiles (Nathan S; Behaviour Interactive "DbD"). Being attached to a virtual creature is wholly up to the player. At the end of the day if you aren't attached that is on you. A skill issue if you will. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to take the first Lamball I caught, Ser Wiggletuff the Slacker, and steamroll a boss with Dragon Meteor.
Nice lamball name lol, mine is "Jigglypuff?"
I honestly find myself getting far more attached to my Pals than I do my starter in Pokemon games.
The fact I can use them outside of combat like tossing them out just to feed or pet them combined with there unique animations really make them feel more natural.
you can easily get attached to lovander, at least until the knot deflates.
@@DarthZ01 and i heard they're going to be working on a seggs update, so that knot of yours can rise up once more my friend
"You dont get attracted to pals in palworld"
But at the same time they feels something when see the 69th paldeck pals
people also believe that Pokemon created the monster taming/catching genre, when in fact it didn't, that honor goes to shin megami tensei series, so atlus started the genre, also, game freak doesn't want to hite more people because they don't want to lose their indie developer status, and yes, they are still an indie studio
But u don't understand ONLY POKEMON CAN BE THE ONLY MONSTER CATCHING GENRE WITH CUTE CREATURES.....NOTHING ELSE......NOBODY ELSE CAN..... CANCEL PALWORLD CANCEL THEM....THERE TAKING MONEY FROM ARE BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY
I say this every time
But hearing people call Shin Megami Tensei "edgy Pokemon" or Dragon Quest a "Pokémon ripoff" hurts me
@@TrueLadyEvilChan people say that?
I do find that hilarious considering Dragon Quest and Megami Tensei came out in the late 1980s whereas Pokemon came out in the mid to late 1990s. But again, considering Dragon Quest and Megami Tensei were only available in Japan, is the reason why no ones heard of those franchise prior to 1995. Which is quite sad considering if they were introduced around the time the NES came out, people would have known about these franchise prior to them. Even I didn't know Megami Tensei was the one that started the monster taming idea long before Pokemon did. But I sure knew Dragon Quest was the one that allowed Monsters to be allies with you. But I do think the difference is that you buy ball shaped devices to capture the monsters and use them on your team or in the box. That I would say is the only difference between Pokemon and Megami Tensei, but everything else is the same or similar and such.
I thought it was dragon quest honesly😅
I think you can get more attached to pals than Pokémon IMO, simply from the fact that you have more than just your party in palworld. In pokemon, you're really only getting attached to like 6 pokemon at a time and past the 6th catch, someone's going in the box and chances are they're not coming back out. Palworld has your party of 5 plus 1-3 bases with like 15 pals each. In palworld, if i want to just chill and spend time with my creatures, I'll just walk around my bases where theres 15 of them hanging out and living their lives and doing different things. What's the equivalent in pokemon, looking through the static sprites in the pc? Taking 6 pokemon out at a time for a picnic and letting them roam in a circle with a 15 foot radius? What Palworld does right is it lets you actually care for the pals. You can work towards nicer beds, food, build them houses and they take part in that process with you. We don't even get wallpapers for the pc boxes that look like environments anymore, so the pc just becomes limbo for pokemon. It was nice being able to organize them by the scenery they'd be found in and pretend the pc was a nice simulated environment.

#takenotesgamefreak
Pal feel so much more lively than pokemon just at the start of the game and saw lamball running away with scare expression is already way better than pokemon wich literally just have lifeless eye stuck on their face and they only run into you
Spot on
Exactly. Take Depresso. No one cared about him starting out, but because he was useful for early bases people got attached to him as they saw all his weird little animations. So by the time you find a better pal, you feel like you owe him more than life in limbo and so you set up a little viewing box for him so you can see him any time you return to base.
Not just that, but every Pal has unique and personal animations for everything they can do.
The first thing Pokemon can learn is how to realse a non-buggy game.
Literally all it takes is tpci not forcing the devs into strict deadlines
But the main promblem is a buggy game can be buggy even if they play tested it. Like i know people hate BDSP but can we blame them? Bugs are always reported but it's not our fault cause when a game realese 1 bug can sneak in even if play tested it.
Bug reporter: I'm i a joke to you?
Crazy talk right there.
I say this because that will never happen.
@@Wynautcuteer BDSP wasn't normally buggy like other games, it was literally broken, as if it was practically untested.
Finally someone said something about the insanity of blaming companies for promoting animal abuse ....AND NOT ACTUALLY DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT THEMSELVES!!!
By the way, the thing you said about evolutions, uh, I feel like Palworld does not need evolutions, it actually makes each individual Pal feel more special, plus even the weaker Pals can still do really well in late game compared to certain Pokémon in Pokémon that are non-evolving ones. It actually plays out well in terms of balancing, in the end.
So you're saying I can breed traits & IVs onto a Pengullet or Foxsparks and the results would be Pals that can actually do well end-game? I assumed they'd be awful just cuz I've played alot of Pokémon lmao
@lookatmyzombies9377 In my experience; Yes, especially because combat is not turn based at all and you can play around with the environment to make your Pals do better during a fight, but even without those two facts, they still 100% can put up a fight better overall. I imagine if you breed them for better stats they would do a lot better compared to the Pokémon counterparts.
palworld does have evolution but they didn't show that like you can see melpaca and kingpaca.
@@ShadowMonarch390 No, I have played the game and Melpaca does not evolve into Kingpaca, and Pengullet does not evolve into Penking either for instance. They are related, but they do not evolve from one another...
@@ShadowMonarch390 Its kinda like monster hunter in that aspect. Kingpaca and Penking are not evos of melpaca/pengulett, they are just the leaders of those species.
Pokemon is the best example in the industry of the law of least effort, there is literally no other franchise that can get away with such low product quality, and that is the problem here. The games will never improve because sales continue to increase no matter what, it's literally the consumer's fault, it's that simple.
It truly just is are faults.......cause this company can release sh,t after shi,t after sh,t and people will still buy it
Totally agree man, which is why I stopped buying Pokemon games after Gen 5 and My Pokemon Ranch. But sadly it goes to show just how popular the franchise is to this very day, and it won't be slowing down anytime soon.
20:36 Fun fact Witches are associated with foxes in Japan like how we in the West associate Witches with cats which is why their both fox witches
And Wixen's design, at least in my opinion, is super cool. If you've ever used one to cook food, it's actually using a fire spell to cook it. It's a small difference, but to me it really sells the witch design and it feels different compared to the average pal opening their mouth and shooting flames that way.
one of the first palworld videos ive seen that isnt atrociously biased lol
Adding insult to injury, the Pocketpair developers came out in an interview and said that they created Palworld with little-to-no coding and game design experience lol
the weekly bucket of flash drives
I'm a huge fan of both Palworld and Pokemon and I agree with this video so much! It's just sad to see both fandoms going at each other's throats: Pokemon fans dissing on Palworld for having similar inspiration for their Pals and Palworld fans immediately thinking that you're one of those Pokemon fans just because you mentioned that you love Pokemon. I still play the Pokemon games, but I have to agree that Pokemon really has to step up their game. Pokemon is fun, but Palworld just feels like a breath of fresh air as compared to a game with the same fighting mechanic but just different story plot. Oh, and Palworld despite its success still having a very responsive player support while Pokemon takes like 2 weeks to respond to any bugs (if at all) just shows how much Palworld cares about its fans. Pokemon, what are you doing? It's such a shame that an indie game developer is able to show more love and response to their player base than a millionaire company.
I’ve also seen people dissing on people who say that they are feeling like palworld has been doing better than Pokémon recently, without actually ARE likely displeased Pokémon fans
Funny thing is PalWorld fan are Pokemon fans.
No bro, I actually do want a Pokemon game that isn't turn based, and allows me to build my own farm and house.
We've seen so many moments of that occurring in the Pokemon anime for decades, seeing electric Pokemon aiding with power companies, seeing rock type Pokemon aiding in building construction and so on. I really would like to play a Pokemon game where I actually get to help build a community. Think of it like Pokemon x Animal Crossing, only it's us and our Pokemon helping to build towns/villages and watching them grow, watching Pokemon grow alongside their trainers and being able to interact with both.
All Pokemon can do in it's current trajectory is simply add more Pokemon, slightly spruce up the graphics and introduce yet another gimmick or two that'll be forgotten by the next gen (oh and the game will still feature turn based combat). I'm not asking for Pokemon with guns, but I am asking for a game where we get to actually build a bond and do more than just battling/beauty pageants.

Palworld not having evolutions is an improvement. Evos suck as a concept if you enjoy the designs of the base forms.
Like instead of Pengullet becoming Penking, If I like Pengullet then I can max it out and make it just as potent if not moreso than Penking.
What people don't realize is that digimon is older than Pokemon 👀
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought digimon tamagochis came out in 1997 while the first pokemon games came out in 1996 and were conceptualized a year earlier
well that's just factually false.
37 likes ,yikes lol nobody does research anymore
@@GreatRaijin When is "anymore" referring to? 🤔
Not true, even is predecessor, tamagotchi come out a few months after Pokémon. But there is some elements like hatching out off eggs that Digimon did first.
Palworld was in development twice as long as the typical pokemon game, actually used their budget, is made on unreal engine, and is on devices a lot more powerful than the switch
If tpci allowed gamefreak enough time to make the games, people wouldn't complain, but they are forced to divide into making 2 teams to make 2 games in 3 years(like Legends and ScarVi)
ITs not gamefreak's fault, it's the greedy higher ups who only care about money
The Pokemon Company is made up of people from the 3 companies that own the brand, so the current state of the franchise is literally the fault of all 3 of them equally.
@@diostaku2 it is still also its own independent entity
not entirely sure how that works, but that is how it is
it is still not the devs' fault that they are rushed
@@_StarlightRose_ Of course the devs are not guilty duh, if your boss wants you to release 2 games a year you have no choice if you want to keep your job, but obviously that does not change the fact that it is the fault of executives of the 3 companies who decide that together.
And no, they are not "independent"; the entire marketing monster that is Pokémon is a single entity, which is why all products have to be aligned in a certain way to maximize sales.
Dude, I don’t want my Pokémon games to become GTA development
It would be useful but god! It would be horrible
@@Aquax_the_3rd they dont need a decade of time to work
They just need more than 3 years, or 3 years under a single team instead of being divided into 2
Like anywhere from half a year to an extra year to polish them could work
@3:33, little correction there in case nobody else mentions this: Alpha pals are the world bosses, like Kingpaca, Luckies are the shiny equivalents who are boss sized and have a shimmering effect before capture, usually coming with an off-type move that's really strong and having the Lucky trait. Alpha pals also have the red boss symbol once captured, Luckies don't
the lucky trait can be past down through breeding as well.
If they make a pal world artbook i would buy it
I hope they later make an animation movie or series in the future.
Pokémon could implement a having base where Pokémon do tasks and it could be a passive way to ev train and build friendship. They don’t need to go full on survival but I just want more ways to interact with my Pokémon that’s not battling. Palworld is closer to the Pokémon anime in terms of interaction with your creature than Pokémon does which is sad.
You mean like a hybrid poke pelago and secret base? That would be awesome.
Basically. I just some slice of life in the games that is not just a silly picnic feature.
They could actually do that if they brought back the secret base feature from RS/ORAS and innovated on it. Then, just have it so you can use your Pokemon to develop it/have various interactions for the secret base and there you go. I'm surprised they didn't bring back the feature in S/V because it would've helped in making the open world more meaningful to explore and less empty.
@@patrickguerro9979 I keep seeing people wanting this vibe and I'm here for it. Especially with the animation "Pokemon Concierge" out recently. Make that concept into a game (I hope something like that is in development; hopium) and it'd sell so well.

Pokémon is my favorite franchise ever. So when seeing this tiny little monster catching indie game show up out of nowhere and outsell most Pokémon games, it made me kind of mad. On top of that it also "stole" from Ark (another one of my favorite games). For a while I was just d riding Pokémon but, this video actually makes me want to try out Palworld. Seeing I can set my biases aside for other monster catchers, maybe I can give this one a chance. (PLUS IT LOOKS SO FUN LMAO)

@@TheRogueRenegade Thanks a lot, I think I just might!
@ace8165 did you even read what i had to say? i tried palworld and it was super fun. I would even consider it to be one of my favorite games
What I thing palworld does better is pal behavior, I just want a pokemon to act like it's self aware. In palworld if you treat pal badly it could get depress and I think it's neat that I actually have to take care of my pal.
It really brings me back to the Tamagotchi (yes, old very old) and how one would need to take care of its needs though in Palworld the babysitting is not so strenuous and like you say just enough to be endearing.
Almost entirely agreed. The reaction of the vocal Pokemon fans who are defensive against Palworld is ridiculous. We're not shareholders in Nintendo, Gamefreak, or the Pokemon Company so we don't have reason to get very defensive over it. If a lawsuit does happen, go ahead and form opinions, I guess, but if this indie developer took some creature design cues from the biggest fish out there, I don't particularly care. It doesn't harm me to have more choices of games or game types to play within the creature collecting "genre". Pokemon has so many designs, you could hardly create a creature catching game without having some that look similar at least coincidentally anyway.
The one point I think was under-emphasized (but you do hit on it) is how well-integrated Palworld's gameplay loop is compared to Pokemon. Pokemon has a tendency to introduce features that actually just grind your quest to a halt while you focus on something else. Contests and hidden bases in the Hoenn games; the underground in Sinnoh; and camping in Galar spring to mind. Some of the later ones make them an alternate way of building experience, but those features don't tend to have end goals and really just makes the main quest easier rather than making you actually build progress towards what you're trying to do. Pokemon has only ever managed to use the reward of an easier game to build progress, which makes its standard JRPG gameplay feel all the more tedious. RPG battles becoming easier don't, in my experience, tend to make them more fun. It's usually the other way around. Meanwhile, in Palworld, everything is progress or player expression. Goals are more open-ended and fluid. It's not like you're shifting between doing the main quest and side content, everything is a facet of building progress to whatever you're trying to do.
I disagree. Most of those features you mentioned were completely optional. As for secret bases,i actually think had they brought that feature back in S/V and innovated on it,they could've done something similar to Palworld in having the mons be involved in developing it with unique interactions/animations,which would've went a long way toward making the open world feel less empty and incentivizing exploration.
I have even more respect for you. Realizing the differences between the game and seeing its not all that comparable while being a Pokemon CZcamsr is admirable. It's like people unironically calling Terraria "2D Minecraft".
I play and enjoy both Pokemon and Palworld. They're both good games.
Also, after hearing that last guy, I got a question for the community: Lovander or Salazzle?
Tbh i watched thie and u were very mature about this topic........its good to know that ur a normal person that has "Common sense" that alot of the world seems to lack nowadays
Aka twitter💀
Houndoom I believe debuted in 1999, not 2002
Yeah oops you're right I thought it was generation 3
Be quiet geek
I think the emptiness could be fixed with more NPCs in the settlements and maybe minor terraforming.
I get that it needs to be open and vast to feel like the pals run the place, humans are the invasive species and give possibilities for you to put your base anywhere (you can put it anywhere, just that some spots are better than others). Maybe the empty buildings will have different types of NPCs like medics to heal us and our pals or something. It doesn't need to be as precise of terraforming as minecraft, but maybe something more like Dragon Quest Builders 1 and 2 where it's unlocked at a certain level and requires certain things to do certain terraforming and only certain parts of the map can be terraformed. That way, you don't get distracted trying to make it into Minecraft or have people trying to break the game by destroying settlements, but also give it a challenge to have to level up or get the right tools and pals to make minor changes to the landscape to make a good base location even better. I'd love to dig into the hills and make my base in tunnels or turn one of the big rocks in the desert into the main house or something.
2:28
Yeah about that breeding mechanic. Turns out that almost any male pal can breed with almost any female pal, and such cross breeding usually yields a new pal outright, rather than the same pal but a different type. There are some absolutely bonker combinations people found out to transfer certain traits all the way down to their favorites, kind of like SMT
27:04 "Then hire more people"
No, you don't understand, that means they have to spend more money, giving people jobs so they can get paid and live. That's not what big companies want, that's awful.
Palworld seems like a really good game that needs to change up a few designs to make them more original
Grass-type Cinderace I'm looking at you.
Yeah, most of the designs are original ENOUGH, but Verdash is WAY too similar to Cinderace.
The designs are original enough.........like Verdasco is he only one that is blatant copy.....and what else

I actually like that the pals don't "evolve", it gives them individuality. I can't tell you how many pokemon I like that get overshadowed by their relatives
It seem that every time someone brings up the which Pokémon that some pals are based on it is either close like yeah I for sure see the resemblance or it is stretching so hard to even try and find a match or something that is so mundane anyone could make the same thing based on the animal they are based on in the first place.
that last guy in the end is the one that made me laugh my ass off lol.
27:34 😅🤭. Yeah Pokémon doesn’t really need to be hyper realistic😅 but it wouldn’t hurt they talk about they can’t give us that type of game but in reality, they just don’t want to win they have games that are close to what we want in a Pokémon game Mario, Zelda, dragon, quest, monster, hunter, and many more
19:19
22:11
I appreciate this video so much because these points are exactly what I have been saying.
A funny thing about the Spiked Hare and Nidoran thing is that they both share similar gameplay of being early game monsters that can boost their damage output.
Quite frankly these games are so different I'm surprised people think they're actually in competition with eachother.
One thing I do somewhat hope Nintendo and the Pokemon Company learn from the success of Palworld is that I do hope we get more non-Free to Play Pokemon Spinoffs the covers different genres like CRPGs, Real Time Strategy, Turn Based Strategy (similar to Xcom or Marvels Midnight Suns), either a Roguelike (like Dead Cells) or a Time Loop game (like Deathloop or Majora's Mask). Obviously we wouldn't want these spinoffs being constantly released out like Call of Duty, Assassins Creed or Sports games but some variety would be nice.
Pokémon’s marketing is about being friends with Pokemon, yet the game marketed as putting your pals into sweatshops makes me feel more attached. Clearly something is wrong
All these debates are constantly going left & right to no fucking end. I'm just gonna sit back and watch the fire spread.
7:25 regarding 5 pals, you are the 6th. Also, this is no turn based battle, so you can fight and dodge along with your Pal or use them as a mount so you have full control of their abilities plus more.
Both Alpha pals and Lucky pals are variations on a Shiny variant. They are both bigger than ordinary pals of their species, as well as have higher stat growth potential. The main difference being that Alpha pals usually are bosses, and Lucky pals are naturally spawned pals with Lucky trait. Their offspring don't inherit their special status (sadly), though Lucky pals can give Lucky trait to theirs (new pals would be ordinary, but with Lucky trait).
Also, Alpha cannot be Lucky and vice versa.
That said, I love my Alpha Fenglope, despite me being able to breed better fenglopes trait-wise. It comes from appearance side, however. See, usual fenglopes are not big enough for character to ride on their back, and character ends up to ride on top of their plot (hindquarters area). With Alpha Fenglope, however, character is properly sitting on the back of the pal.
What I hate is that Gamefreak has proven themselves capable with legends Arceus but decide not to make a good game with S/V
I'd say we need Pokemon to expand on how many times a pokemon can evolve, how many moves a pokemon can have and
Pokemon should ALSO Cross bred and have fusions.
Pokemon has always been one of my favorite game series however I got to admit that palworld is great as well. It shows off a lot of what pokemon has been lacking and I am hoping that they are taking notes. The problem with pokemon is that is has become lazy due to a lack of actual competition and this might be what it takes for them to stop sitting around laughing at fans request and turning around and looking at set request seriously.
3:20 you say shiny pals are just astetic... ignoring the fact that when you catch them they dont retain that shune y sparkily effect, and more importantly unlike pokemon, they arint just reskins, they have abilities the none shuny pals dont, you show this with B roll photage of a shiny chikipi shooting a giant lazer at you... something only possible with shiny versions or with skill fruit.
also personal slow clap and thanks for including the sonic spin ball music, that will deeply touch me in my gamer soul, its one of three of the first games i ever played back in 1996, its actualy the music of my childhood, the whole sonic and sega genisus lybrary is.
I want PalWorld to add more digimon inspired pals. Also evolutions
But this game also has a lot of potential for crossovers
They should do some with monster hunter, digimon, monster ranch, digimon, etc
My counter argument when it comes to that gripe about the moves for Pals, Pokémon is also guilty of reskinning moves including signature moves, for why they only get 3 moves its because you can apply any move to any Pal if you got skill fruits so it would make something so overpowered if you just loaded them with 4 or more heavy hitting moves plus you get to swap them out at any time if you menu nav fast enough, and for why only 5 party members I think its to balance out that you are the 6th member technically since you are able to be an active battler in the fights instead of on the sidelines.
"Something I find really strange about Palworld is that it has no evolutions for any of the pals" Well they did it so that it won't be copyright
but digimon has evolution and nintendo didnt go after them. at least i think.
other monster taming/catching games have evolution in them.
Nintendo/pokemon company does not, and cannot, own the simple idea of a creature metaphorically getting older/maturing and changing shape
Palworld does have evolution but they didn't show that like you can see melpaca and king paca😅
@@ShadowMonarch390no
Palworld arguably has their own spin on evolutions in the Pal Condenser machine, which not only upgrades your Pal of choice's stats, but also encourages you to catch dupes of the same Pal to feed to the machine, although the requirements are rather steep given the Palbox capacity you're given and number of Pals in the Paldeck.
People have also made mods for unique models and colors for Lucky Pals, so there's the likelihood that a mod that gives them unique models at every 2 Condenser ranks will eventually happen. Personally, I prefer this alternative method of evolution, because it's pretty much like how people change their appearance after their training arc.

All I have to say is, Rogue, I'm glad you are trying to get the point across since both games can co-exist and gamefreak can indeed learn from palworlds achievements here. Plus I agree palworld isn't a ripoff, they may have similar designs sometimes but if they take their own spin on a design it can make it different, and if they want to keep pal concepts and stuff secret they can, both games are super enjoyable and I wish people would stop trying to compare one game to another, especially when game devs take different approaches to making games.P.s. you content is amazing. And i tried to speak my mind here :| hopefully i dont sound rude at all.
What i think about palworld having played it, it feels way more free in the things u can do in and with the world. I think we should be able to build our own house in pokemon and ive been saying this for years. But however I think the palworld monster designs are really safe. They do not have any off putting or disturbing designs which u need time to get used to its like they put every populair pokemon design in a random generator and these are the ones that came out of it. I wonder if pokemon can do anything to make their games more interactive with the world like palworld does it will probably result in longer development time and we all know tpc does not like that word.
Really excited to play this game soon! I wanna get my pink alpaca!!!!!
Pals can only use 3 moves, they however can learn all the moves. You can swap their moveset at anytime.
Ah, yes. Nintendo now legally owns Lawnmowers, Tabby Cats, and every instance of fire.
I don't thing that message Pokemon made about Palworld was supposed to be a scare tactic. I can't think of any other time the Pokemon company make any sort of public message about any of their investigations which is why all those take downs of fan projects/mods seem to come out of nowhere (like that Pokemon Palworld mod). The way that statement started by saying something along the lines of we received a lot of inquires about Palworld makes it feel like it's a response to emails and such they've been receiving about the game.
This is a specific HEAD cannon and may be a little complex but here it's is: The reason why Bill made the Pokémon storage system is because when you deposit a Mon in his system he kinds of owns that pokemon and since ppl deposit shinies, legendaries and RARE Pokémon he gets bragging rights that he owned that Pokémon you deposited, and that's why people call bill "the guy with extremely rare Pokémon" AND THIS PROVES HE IS A FRAUD! k bye

Wish you could upgrade your Pals without the "Pal Blender" option. Maybe add an alternative (non-brutal) way, but make it more time consuming and tailored to upgrading just one Pal at a time for those that want a small, but powerful, team of Pals as there seems to be an underlying theme of treating your Pals properly, so adding a more humane way of upgrading Pals would fit with that story tone.
The difference with Lucky/Alpha Pals is that they actually do have better stats and they come with rarer moves than their basic version as well as are giant sized. Unlike Shiny Pokémon which are only a different color. There is a real incentive to get Lucky Pals because you want that Lucky trait and cool moves
It's about time a great video came out about Palworld. Awesome video.
Wait, how do you know each Pokemon Switch game is on a different engine?
You can change the Pal's moves with skill fruits, and you can make Pals stronger with the condenser.
Finally, thank you for a non biased fake. As a Pokémon fan, I agree with a lot of this. And thank you for informing me about palworld more.
Mascot Pikachu aren't Pretending as mice or mouse reminds me of Dumbo circus But unfortunately House mouse isn't the same as mice duh 🙄
The lack of iconic music track you mentioned clearly tells me you haven't fought your first legendary in Palworld, else you'd say otherwise. There's actually plenty of beautiful soundtracks in the game besides the Legendaries' background music. Even the tower boss theme was amazing, where it builds up so much tension, especially if you tried doing your first Tower Boss while being underleveled. If only you pay more attention to it. Even a music producer who reviewed it was actually surprised with the quality of the tracks. FYI the composer for Palworld's track was the composer for the Atelier series, Tatsuya Yano.
I'm more attached to my Chillet in palworld than I've been attached to a Pokemon in years. And I seriously couldn't tell you why. It's the same idea, that Chillet has been with me since the start, his traits suck, but he's gotten me through alot. It really could be the gameplay difference, instead of press A to win I'm alot more involved with my guys. HG/SS was the last game I really felt attached to my teammates and that could be the difference of no EXP share, or just that they followed me everywhere and were always a visual piece of my journey. I'd love to have my pokemon follow me all the time in say S/V, but most of the time I outrun them on foot, and it's more annoying to slow down than to just not use the feature
What Pokemon Can Learn from palworld
1. Taking longer time when making their game (just like gta 6) but the cost is people will believe they gonna pass away before it was released
2. Removing "E" Rate, allow them more freedom like torture and GUN and make them dies in realistic way, GTA SA remove their Hot coffee feature to stay "E"
If pokemon wants 1 game that has a ton AND still release generational content they can make a mega game. One where you can explore every region, and beat the gyms, but theres no story or a different story than the generational versions. That way they can release 1 game with the new generation and their storys, then about a year later add it to the mega game.
Weirdly, my only takeaway from this video is that Scarlet and Violet APPARENTLY has a bad frame rate…I’ve only played Violet and don’t really understand or care to understand why people care about frame rates, but I don’t really think the frame rate in Violet is that bad, at least I don’t remember having any problems with it
But that’s just me…someone says a game has a bad frame rate, or a movie has bad effects, and I just look at the media, look back at the person and ask “what are you TALKING about?”…not literally, but that’s pretty much what happens in my brain
How I think Pokemon can improve its gameplay loop is lean into its RPG. Have quests that requires you to catch and use different pokemon skills. A farmer wants his hens to to reproduce? Catch and give him a male chicken-like pokemon. Some kid lost his pet in a junkyard? Use a pokemon with detection skills. House on fire? Send out your water Pokemon. You can even provide multiple solutions to these quests like in Baldur's Gate 3 if you want. (No, HM path blocking is boring). Basically give the player a reason to be called a Pokemon master, not just Pokemon Battles master.
idk if it's the video or if YT is trolling me, but there was 2 ads every two minutes.
im not exagerating.
besides that it's good video
“What Pokémon can learn from Palworld”
ADD GUNS
And TORTURE TO DEATH
Everyone seems to have a different experience wirh pokemon and palworld.
Hell, I pretty much love all my pals and the ones I put in my bases. Even my beginner pals.
One thing I like to do is watch them work and sometimes go to take a bath or eat. It kind of inspires me to keep on getting food and making better homes for them. 😂❤
yeah, as several others said, in pokemon games, you have your small team - then you have everything else that sits un-used in a vault.
In palworld, I was sad when it was the right choice to move on from my flamethrower - But i could farm up a better one and keep using it even for end game if I really wanted to!
I grow to like the pals that work well in my farms, and get annoyed at those that keep shirking.
At least 1 digtoise will probably stay in my mining base - because I like it's animation and style. I have since TMNT2 and super mario brothers.
21:00 lily doing lumine pose
I would love Suzaku to have a baby pre-evo form it'd be so cute
I love monster catching genres ,fan created or company run, i love art books
Couldn't put it better myself. Literally the only thing I don't completely agree with is the face of the cats I'd go one step farther and say it is a generic look for cartoon cats. When I first saw Galarian Meowth, it reminded me of that Cat bus from one of the Ghibli movies, that admittedly I have only seen clips of, sorry.
Worth noting that when Grintale (the pal) goes into combat, it's eyes change and start glowing bright. like a real life cat when a light is shined on their eyes at the right angle.
I like watching other people on CZcams play Palworld, but so far, I don’t think it’s for me. That could all change sometime in the future depending on how things go however. Right now, Pokémon is the one of the two that appeals to me more, and I’d like to see them figure things out as well, and if it takes some stronger competition to make it happen then so be it.
Specifically, I don’t think that voice acting is as much of a necessity as people try to make it out to be, but I do think that actual dialogue choices that can affect gameplay or story could get many more people invested in it. I mean, so many people took a liking to characters like Arven because of his story, and that was without any voice acting. One aspect that I don’t really see changing though is the way battles take place, at least, not in its entirety. To me, it seems like keeping it simple is the plan. With the way things are, a four year old could pick up the game and not be overwhelmed by gameplay, and auto battling makes it even simpler. Regardless, things in Pokemon have always attempted to progress, but that takes time, the right tools, and the right people if we want anything drastic.
I'm kinda one of those people too. Palworld's not for me, along with Pokemon needing to take a step back and think about this.
Alpha pals are the bosses you find at fixed locations, where Lucky's are pals that sparkle and has unique audio and the lucky trait.
15:12 showcases a pal that was stolen, and then later it’s orange counterpart that it stole from at 15:38
30:03 I remember casually pointing this out on Reddit and mentioning that I just wished Verdash looked slightly different only to be met with a fellow Redditor who accused me of siding with the Pokemon fans despite me already mentioning that I play and love Palworld. What's worse was that person immediately said that Cinderace is ripping off Bugs Bunny and Inazuma Eleven for being a humanoid rabbit playing football. Had to calmly explain that Cinderace looks that way because Galar is based on the UK where football originated and that I just wished they did something different with Verdash. Thankfully, he understood and apologized for being ignorant of the Pokemon's design inspiration. I guess what I'm getting at here is that as a fan of both games, both fandoms just can't stand each other lol
Cinderace ripping off Bugs Bunny?! lolwut? So because Bugs Bunny exists, no one can make an anthro rabbit for their creature collector? Daft logic. Glad you were able to get through to them though.
@@dedsecturbotowns6069 yeah, when that person said that I had to point out how it's hypocritical of them to use that argument because it's just the same as the Pokemon fans. You can love something while being critical about it. You love Palworld, I get it but at the same time you have to acknowledge that Verdash is just too eerily similar to Cinderace. I love Palworld too but we must not allow ourselves to be blind to criticism and think that this game doesn't have its flaws. I just hope that despite the argument, that there's no bad blood between that person and me. Can't be sure, they haven't responded to my DM after apologising for not knowing about Cinderace's origins.
Both fanbases can get pretty defensive against each other which is very annoying, though the hostility is starting to subside now that commotion from the release is going down.
Also, I think Pocketpair probably regrets designs like Verdash which are more in the parody territory rather than just inspired, I mean the more popular Pals are ones like Chillet and Katress, which while clearly being inspired by Pokemon's art style are still a new different concept.
@@rrrr-im9oz My favorite is Flambelle. Which I can see someone comparing to Litwick(Despite Flambelle not even HAVING a candle motif).
Actually I have a theory on why pokemon took a nosedive in recent years: the death of Satoru Iwata. The last game he worked on was the RSE remakes. The first game where he didn't work on it was Sun and Moon.
It's known that the pokemon franchise was actually kind of fucked before he came on the team with Gold and Silver, and with his death the series began to sink in quality again. Iwata managed to optimize so much, and it's clear that the devs relied on him with how the games after his passing stink so hard by comparison.
I feel far more connected to my pals than I have ever in pokemon game. Seeing and being able to interact with them and them interact with things makes them feel more real.
Much as I love Palworld, its Pals (I’m actually mad that Game Freak didn’t come up with Chillet sooner; an ice-dragon ferret sounds as badass as it does adorable), and much as I don’t believe the models were directly ripped from Pokemon, I agree that some designs can do with a second pass-over to make them more distinct from actual Pokemon (Cremis and Verdash being the two most blatant examples). Hell, if anyone’s got good alternate designs for Cremis and Verdash for instance, I encourage them to share it with Pocketpair to calm the storm.
However, I think them not sharing concept art for the Pals when they already have for the humans isn’t going to do them any favors PR-wise, especially when it comes to allegations of them ripping models from Pokemon. Still allegations, sure, but seeing more art of my favorite Pals wouldn’t hurt either (Quivern’s great and so is Chillet, but I personally adore Elphidran, and it’s a crime that Elphidran doesn’t have as much art).
I wish the pals were more creative and had deeper lore that's my only criticism
I really want to play Palworld… but I have a 2012 MacBook Pro so I’m limited to a GT 650M which is nowhere near the min spec. I might still try later lmao
According to effectively Japanese Glassdoor employee reviews for GameFreak: "Don't have to work hard. It will sell, anyway."
THAT'S WHY POKÉMON DOESN'T GET BETTER!
Also, I have to disagree with one of your points. I got more attached to my Pals than I ever have with my Pokémon. The ways interact with you or the world is great. Compare that to Pokémon, where you only see them use a move and get stuffed back into a ball.
That's simply not true.
@@friendlyotaku9525Literally vague reply.
@@ShinAk1raSama in Pokemon games there's a lot of ways to interact with Pokemon.
@friendlyotaku9525 Which Gens? Which mainline story games actually allow you to have all your Pokémon be able to interact with the world? Which of them allow you to have all your Pokémon be useful for anything other than combatants or show pets? If the only interaction of meaning you have available is petting them on the DS, then it's just glorified NintenDogs that you need to perform to get Sylveon. Elaborate rather than make vague statements.
@@ShinAk1raSama Gens 8 and 9.
I'm a fan of pokemon and i really like PalWorld because it's really fun even though the survival genre isn't exactly my favorite I'm having a lot of fun. And one of my favorite pals is Depresso because it's kinda relatable. And honestly i think both pokemon and Palworld can co exist. And the people that say that this game supports animal cruelty need to go outside and touch some grass because it's just up to the player what they'll do with their pals. I'm one of those players that doesn't like seeing that one of the pals in my base is hurt or sick because whenever i see that it's sick i look in my chests for medicine or craft it to heal it up and after tough battles or whenever one of the pals do their job, i pet them and there's an item that you can unlock and craft to butcher pals ehich replaces the pet option with butcher but i promised myself to nevwr ublock it because i love all if my pals. Especially my demonic goat boy Incineram he's my second most powerful pal dince the beginning. And for those who don't know: If you catch a Lucky pal it'll also havethe "Lucky' passive skill which gives it +15% to attack and work speed. And it can be passed down to other paps through breeding. Same with Legendary Pals. They also have their unique passive skill called Legend. I don't know what kind of boosts it give but it can also be passed down through breeding and yes legendaries in palworld can breed to make them better for fighting or working.
I remember when yo kia watch was starting to get quite famous and i thought that it could be a big contender to pokemon then level 5 refused to translate anything :(
I feel like there are a few designs that are going to be changed soon, they are obviously too close. But that's the cool thing about early access games, and not having deadlines with your giant anime and merch departments just means they have the freedom to change it.
I wouldn't mind if they reintroduced secret bases again, that was one thing I thought was great from gen 3.
While the bugs mentioned are frustrating, I think a big thing to Palworld credit is this is the very bare bones early access, not the full game. Which only makes it more humiliating for game freak.
I actually love that Pals don't evolve, it makes all pals useful. Imagine a maxed out Lamball 🐑
Also any pal can learn any move thanks to skill fruits.
