I really love Kim’s approach to gaming. She takes her time, savors every moment, and plays with such passion. In our rush to keep up with the latest game news and hype, always eager to finish one game just to start the next, we often lose this kind of passion. @@stannisthemannis5535 Appreciate the journey, not the destination. Savor each moment you have and learn to appreciate the little things. When gaming, try not to let yourself get side tracked too much. Try to focus at playing one game at the time or at least pick games that don't overlap in genre or complexity. This is trainable behavior. Trust me on this: as a general rule in life when trying to do/enjoy everything at the same time, you'll also feel less enjoyment. Don't be a butterfly, make conscious choices and invest.

NNK2 is SUPER ADDICTIVE soooooo good. The first one was ok but the battle system wasn't my favorite but I also haven't finished it.
The music too. The soundtrack is phenomenal. I hate that it's not on spotify
I loved it too but some reason after the 60h mark I stopped and never came back to it :(

My favorite RPGS are Final Fantasy 7, Super Mario RPG, Lufia and the fortress of doom, Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, The “Tales of” series, the Trails of Cold Steel series, Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest series, legend of legaia, legaia2: duel saga, & shining resonance refrain. Most of the games on my list I played with my grandmother so playing them now is a wonderful way to honor her memory and remembering the time we helped each other when we were stuck battling a boss or had trouble solving a puzzle in a certain dungeon.
I’d be very interested in hearing why Lufia is so dear to you. I love it (2 anyhow) but for me it’s kind of “the best of the rest” after the Square and Enix stuff
@@JazGalaxy both lufia games are dear to me because I played it with my grandmother who also played video games and she helped me when I was struggling with a boss fight or a puzzle in a tower or dungeon in the game. Sadly she passed away in 2014 so if it comes to the switch it would be a wonderful way to relive those memories

Okay now I've got to play the Xenoblade Chronicles 2. You've convinced me. Great list Kim! And the guy who was co-hosting with you today seemed like he might give it a shot too!
Seeing someone like Kim who plays every game to death and loves every moment is a treat because so many people nowadays rush through games to get to the next one. I was stuck in that rut too and realized my hobby had become a chore. I was playing just to get through my backlog. I recently changed my way of thinking and have been loving gaming again. I don’t care how long it takes me to get through my backlog, I am going to enjoy every game to the fullest and if I don’t like a game I won’t force myself to play through it. Just beat Judgement which took me 51 hours. Apparently it’s a 25 hour game so I was proud that I had put so much time into it, doing side quests and taking in the world. Now I’m 8 hours into final fantasy 16 and loving every minute. Keep gaming Kim! Never grow up!

So wholesome to see you together every time. Kim and I share pretty much all of those favorites, too. Fantasy Life was so under loved, IMO. Level 5 made some of the most wonderful games. I miss the Layton series so much.

I love the same games that Kim likes. I played Fantasy Life more than any other on 3DS. Final Fantasy 9 and Dragon Quest 8 are my two favorites in those franchises. I just started Hogworts Legacy because I'm a Nintendo person and I am enjoying it. Thanks for this video.

It's so nice to see Kim's increasing love to video games over the years also as as she grew more comfortable being on camare. As she's a reader too, I would recommend Kim to read The Witcher book series and then play Witcher 3 to give wester rpgs some love!

Hey guys ! Great list , Kim. That few seconds of Kim’s choosing dilemma in the beginning was a masterstroke to include. We all know how hard it is to make a list , hahaha. My personal , all time favourite is the 1993 ”Perihelion” for the old Amiga500. Post-apocalyptic , cyberpunk and with a mood that’s hard to match. The intro is astonishing. It’s NOT only nostalgia talking. I play through it every other year , and it still captivates me.
This is my first time seeing Kim, and what I've noticed right away is the amazing chemistry you two have! It is surprisingly uncommon in today's world!
Historically, I’m more of an adventure (Zelda) and survivor horror (Resident Evil, The Last of Us) fan, but I recently played and finished the incredible Final Fantasy XVI and fell in love with it. So I’ve now gone straight to FF7 Remake, which I’m really enjoying, and I’ve also picked up Persona 5 Royal (PS5) to play once I’m done with that. I think I’ve been bitten by the RPG bug and I’m thrilled to finally dive into a genre that has eluded me for so many years.
I turned 50yrs old this past year, but it’s never too late, right? Who knows, maybe I’ll even get to finally play the likes of Dragon Quest XI and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and 3, which have been sitting in my Switch backlog for forever! Between PS5 (including PS4 backwards compatibility) and Switch, there’s a wealth of RPG riches I hope to try in the future.
Fantasy Life is still one of my favorite games ever played. I just loved it sm, so glad you did too! I can’t wait for the new one to release!!

Dragon Quest IX was my first Dragon Quest 'and' my first JRPG too because of you and your channel, Johnny. I really think it's cool to learn that Kim had a similar experience thanks to your passion--it's clearly contagious as I've always said!

Torna the Golden Country is amazing I agree it’s one of my favorites. I don’t think XBC2 characters should be replaced but would be cool having more with Lora. I also like combat more in Torna

They’re mostly slice of life JRPGs with amazing craft systems and cute, lovable characters.
Although games are usually arranged in trilogies/duologies, each game is its own adventure, so it doesn’t matter too much where you start.
I’d personally recommend the Atelier Ryza trilogy or Atelier Sophie 2, since they’re the latest games in the series and the gameplay mechanics have become so refined and so fun they’re a real joy to play through! ^^

Awesome list, Kim! There are certainly greats in your favorites and I agree they are all excellent! Some of my favorites that were not mentioned are: Resonance of Fate (a truly awesome battle engine and I enjoyed the grid map system), Tokyo Mirage Sessions (A SMT at heart, but with a much lighter tone, been getting into this one lately), and Dragon Age Origins (So excellent, with so much free choice that impacts the story, I'll never forget the characters!).

Wasn't expecting Harry Potter on the list because of all the previous entries(I was blindsided in a good way. I LOVE Harry Potter and haven't been able to play this game because I only own a Switch. They recently release this game on Switch and I know 100% after your endorsement that I'll be losing myself at Hogwarts just like you.

Best part of DQXI was realizing that it was a prequel to III. That hit my childhood in the heart so hard I still don't have words to describe it. Nice list!

@@TheDumontShowthey are remaking 3 in the HD2D style they have been using. Announced it awhile ago so hopefully it releases first half of next year. I’m shocked it’s not out already honestly.
@@TheDumontShow it's worth it. when the 2D/3D remake finally releases, just embrace that and go. DQ3 is weird. It has this almost perfect balance of progression and exploration.There was something about that game. I used to rent it from a video store here and it was the funniest thing; nobody ever touched anyone elses's save file. There and when they finally did it was like someone new got into the game and the respect carried forward. We only ever did what we wanted to do in one file and we CHECKED just to make sure.
Yeah most of that was just grinding levels and stuff but we had so much fun seeing how fast we could take out Zoma by the end.
I seriously miss this era of gaming and the lengths we went to to respect other gamers.

Golden Sun, FF7, Bravely Default 2, Octopath Traveler 2 just to name a couple. Most of Kim's favorites are my own especially Xenoblade Chronicles

Good list Kim! I love all of the Atlus/Sega and DQ games as well. Give the remaster of SMT III: Nocturne a try as well since you liked SMT V, it’s a fantastic and VERY dark game. Soul Hackers 2 on PS5 is also worth a try…many people slept on this game but I loved it.

Since Kim loves the Dragon Quests series, I wonder if she'll be picking up and playing "Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince" that's coming out on December 1? I played the demo and it's quite nice.

Great list! We have similar tastes. I loved Hogwarts Legacy too - one of the few games I replayed immediately after finishing. But I also need to add my personal nostalgic fav: FF8!!

You know, I had my doubts about Kim when you first started featuring her, but this list proves she has good taste. It would be nice if it contained more retro titles, but I can understand if she didn't grow up playing SNES, Genesis, and PS1.
Really expected the whole Xenoblade series in the top 10.
Sadly haven't played most of these games. I have Persona 4, Final Fantasy 9, Persona 5 and Dragon Quest 11 in my collection waiting though.
Most hyped about Shin Megami Tensei V, bougt it on release after waiting 5 years for it, but stil haven't played it mostly because of health reasons and wanting to being able to fully enjoy it.
These videos are always interesting. I love seeing other people's favorite lists of games either by genre or in general. For me, I think Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger and Baldur's Gate 2 would be on the top 3 for me 😊
