The long-awaited clash is obviously going to be Chopper vs Brannew, when the good doctor finally gets his revenge for being lowballed on his bounty for all these years.

Oda feels like a dungeon master to the story more then a standard of author
I feel like Luffy vs Shanks would be a thing, but not as dangerous as Luffy vs Kaido. It would be more of a 'show me how strong you got' from Shanks. It's like the Toriel fight from Undertale where the fight only happened because Toriel, or in this case Shanks, felt the need to see how Luffy was capable on taking on everyone left.
I don't think it'll be about seeing Luffy's strength. I think Shanks will give it his all to ensure that Luffy has the strength necessary to live up to whatever the One Piece is (a device or something that'll probably help him beat the WG)
I hope whatever Shanks see, he will decide to go along with the dawn instead of against it
Shanks v Luffy would be awesome to see. But Blackbeard, being the series "main antagonist" has to take something from Luffy to fuel that fight. In other words, I don't think Luffy will end up getting a chance to return the strawhat or have his victory lap or test of will/strength with Shanks after taking out the remaining Yonko like he plans. Seems too much like the good or expected ending to me. Hopefully I'm wrong, because like I said, I'd absolutely love to see Luffy v Shanks and both go all out.

Shanks dont know where the island is located, Kidd pirates gave him their poneglyphs, so Shanks needs them.
Shanks may know and just be acting as a gatekeeper of sorts. Kidd needs the poneglyphs, yes, but Shanks has connections and an uncanny ability to move unnoticed (pulling up at the war of the best very suddenly, meeting with the gorosei unnoticed by anyone else during the revelry, maybe other times...) it's possible he either knows the location of laugh tale or has the poneglyph etchings to get to laugh tale (though, even if he does, he's never demonstrated the voice of all things, nor does he have a three eyed tribe member and Robin is the only remaining person capable of flat out reading a poneglyph). I doubt Shanks personally has the one piece or anything but I wouldn't put it past him knowing the location or at least having all the pieces.
The latest anime episode showed blackbeard tanking an attack that cut a mountain basically in half. Also hes more agile than i originally thought. Blackbeard is gonna be more of a menace than we ever thought possible and i cant wait
All we know about Blackbeard has to be slightly off in order for it to make sense that he was able to scar a careful Shanks. Blackbeard scarred shanks without a devil fruit, and now he has two, which means that he has to have some tremendous Haki/skill which isn't at all displayed in the series at a high level.
Where can I look to know Teech scarred Shanks before the Yami Yami no Mi?

That or Blackbeard is somehow Shanks' proverbial Kryptonite, leveraging something that Shanks just can't properly answer, at least not at the time. Which gets me thinking, I recall that Shanks has a pretty unusual ability to cancel out Haki, but what if that was a thing he developed in response to BB who has a similar ability. Probably not, but maybe. BB pulling something like that out on Shanks who was relying heavily on Haki at the time could well be that Kryptonite moment.

Shanks and Luffy's unexpected result might be how he would return the hat or keep it.
From a story perspective, letting your characters decide/choose what to do is a good story element. They decide the pacing, destination, etc. instead of some magic force (aka the writer) deciding it. It becomes much more logical and grounded.
As for the big clash/conflict that will happen: There are questions that need to be answered in order to figure out who will be fighting who. Like when will it occur, where and who could potentially fight one another logically? Like where is Teach, his ship was spotted near Egghead, will the clash happen there with Luffy vs Blackbeard? Or will it happen on Elbaf? Will Luffy go onto the island first and fight Shanks? Will Teach decide the time is right and fight Shanks? Lots of theory crafting that will be interesting to look back on.

The logic behind it. Like the way to Alabasta and the adventures there made sense because the crew met Vivi. She told them whats going on and the crew choose to help her. Skypiea for example would have been magic, if the knock up stream shot them simply up there by accident so the crew could have the adventure. @@necrolol1

The battle between those two could also potentially be Luffy vs Sakazuki. He just emerged from the desk, Luffy has beaten (probably) the strongest current admiral and depending on the outcome of Egghead the Marines might be ordered to chase Luffy to Elbaf. Imagine if the Red Dog himself shows up to fight Luffy there. This would also give Usopp a good chance to have a battle of tricksters against Loki while Luffy still maintains the standard of facing off against the strongest foe on the island.

@@MrBruhMan1746 Yes. He was the prince who was in love with Lola and refused to marry Chiffon in her place. That's pretty much all we know about him at this point. He may not be a villain but given how Loki in mythology is, I remember a common theory at the time was he was going to try and seize power of the king of Elbaf and Usopp would open the giant's eyes to his trickery and live up to his own dreams in the process.

All the "death flags" for Shanks is precisely why I don't believe he will die. When has Oda ever used obvious tropes for his main arc climaxes other than the protagonists winning?
Honestly I think the surprise is going to be Shanks and BB clash but Shanks doesn't want to fight and either helps BB or gives him what he wants and we will think he's a villain but it's the final test for Luffy to prove he is ready to change the world.
I don't think it makes much sense for their crews to fight. Shanks needs to be alive in the end for Luffy to give back the hat, Usopp needs to meet Yasopp and Shanks has ties to the WG we don't know yet. It makes more sense that Shanks goes all out against Luffy after Luffy beats BB, and loses and celebrates with Luffy as he is crowned PK.
Oda doesn't kill characters and he sure isn't killing the man who just gave him such a big hit in Japan with film Red. Besides, fans need to pick a lane, Oda isn't killing Ace, Shanks, Garp and Dragon and being like every other piece of fiction where all the protag family has to bite the dust.
I think you have a point with it being unlikely that Shanks is going to die.
I do want to point out, however, that losing doesn’t mean he has to die. He could just end up being defeated and escape with his life.

Luffy vs. Blackbeard is probably going to involve multiple events. It would be weird for Blackbeard to just be a one time villain. I bet he’ll get in the Straw Hats’ way a few more times before Luffy finally officially defeats him. Also, I would love to see Luffy give Shanks the old Roger vs Whitebeard greeting… aka spitting the heavens, fighting all day, and then partying all night :)
It's funny, but the first "long awaited" fight I instantly thought of (and honestly the only one that I could think of before you pointed out so many others lol) was actually Luffy vs Shanks! Which personally, I've always felt their fight was set up right from the beginning, when Luffy declared he would get a better crew than Shanks' and become a greater pirate than him. I've always felt that means they'd have to fight it out at some point, even if they're not like serious enemies of course. For whatever reason, Blackbeard never even crossed my mind! Lol

From where my brain is I'm hoping for a davy back fight in elbaf, most likely the strawhats are going to win. We may hope to see the strawhat grand fleet because most likely bartolomeo and the giant pirates who are in the grand fleey are there so he might call everyone else there for the davy back fight with the red hair pirates I'm thinking shanks's fleet would also be there. And maybe just maybe after the davy back fight has ended they stay for a few to get some rest after that and akainu may come there so another fight which is one we have been expecting since marineford. So, luffy vs akainu is also a possibility.
I hope we get to see the end of Kuma's flashback arc and return to Egghead Island where it left off with Jaygarcia Saturn holding Jewelry Bonney in captivity at the cliffhanger.

When Oda said do you think they will go to “that island” next? I thought of a route around it: I believe he’s talking about Luffy finding out Garp is captured and going to Pirate island to save him. Not Elbaf. I believe Elbaf is to important to not go to.

I wouldn't disparage Oda's dream for an Emmy just based on S1 of the live action. As long as there are new seasons there will be new Emmy opportunities, it could (in theory) get good enough to win one.
While Oda could’ve definitely been talking about Garp for that “I hope nobody dies” quote I feel like he also could’ve been talking about Kidd and possibly even Law cause his fate was up in the air for a solid amount of chapter after we saw him get beat by Blackbeard. But mainly Kidd who’s fate is just as questionable if not more than Garps

I was thinking it might be ussop since his dream is to become a brave warrior, and theyre heading to elbaf the land of the giants who he has a connection with. Maybe he might bravely sacrifice himself to save the crew from blackbeard.

Luffy losing to Blackbeard would hardly be an "unexpected outcome". It's like you yourself said, Luffy always loses to the main antagonists at first. But how about this:
They set the fight aside and team up against a common enemy. Such as the World Government. The remaining Admirals, maybe, or even the Elders.
The marines rebelling against the wg i think is guaranteed to happen. Its been hinted at from very early on with smoker or koby or even the revolutionaries. My theory is they will form the New Marines or something like it to truly protect people and not act is servants to the world government. If i had to guess dragon would create the New Marines after the final war arc which would be the Marines vs the straw hats and the revolutionaries combined with revolting marines, and the 3 admirals would be koby, sabo, and maybe aokiji or fujitora.

I think that the reason that led to the fight beyween Shanks and Blackbeard is that Shanks was the first one that knew the truth about Teach ( that he's not just a normal one person and he's not just a follower to Whitebeard ) and he faced him with it which brought the fight and the scars and my proof is from Oden flashbacks young Buggy talked to young Shanks about him which spark the curiosity in Shanks to know his truth.
so, it was already stated that straw hats will go to elbaf but the "stopping luffy from going" phrase made me directly think of Hachinosu... Luffy hears his grand dad is captured and does like he did with Ace, rushing to save them..... this could be "that guy and that guy".....
IMO Shanks is clearly stronger and Will be beating Blackbeard. At the end Blackbeard will kill him through trickery like holding hostages or trying to murder the weaker people in his crew. Shanks will probably sacrifice himself to save him

I didn't know the voice actors of One Piece were so old. I can't imagine another voice actor for Shanks. I hope they make it to the end of One piece or at least voice record their voices with AI.

I just watched the latest one piece anime episode....and as hyped up as I am for all that is to follow....I couldn't help but notice that the voice actors for Shanks and Dragon are sounding noticeably very old......as inconceivable as it is...the new anime is almost certainly gunna have to be an all new cast.......and Daaaymn they will have some monstrously big shoes to fill

I have two theories about what the long awaited fight is. I believe it is either a flashback of shanks vs mihawk or an all out sniper battle between ussopp, van auger, and yassopp. Then again it could be the giants of elbaf vs San Juan wolf.
To be honest i think Shanks saw how dangerous black beard was after he got hos scar. The he approached Garling to train him to use Haki.
Have you seen Sekai No Owari's live action music video for "The Peak" (The new opening for the anime)? It's an elaborately choreographed allusion to the Baratie (dancing chefs in sailors' uniforms in a fancy restaurant). So that might be a clue that the upcoming fight is between Mihawk and Zorro... Or we might see Sanji finding the All Blue at the end of the final saga as Luffy finds the One Piece.

It’s interesting that you touched on all these fights, and none against the world government. Luffy vs akainu seems like a real shot, especially with him already fighting kizaru, and maybe he runs in aokiji as well and just takes down all 3 of the original admirals.
With the voice actors... I mean, I think in Japan it depends if they still WANT to voice the characters cos they have a very strong work ethic culture. I'm sure the main cast will go until the end of the main anime series, they'll probably ask how long the new series is intended to last and they'll probably replace those who either won't last that long or just don't want to do it anymore.
They may want to keep as much of the original cast as possible so that fans don't feel whiplash when watching the new adaptation.

I read this from someone and I feel like it's possible. Luffy will fight BB, lose, and BB takes his DF as his 3rd and Zoan DF. Thus, completing the 3 DF theory. This will happen because, from Roger's journey, it looks like DF users get sick when they try to go to Laughtale. If this is true, then Luffy will need to lose his DF somehow. This definitely stack up to a surprising ending.
If that's the case, then half of our crew won't be able to go to Laugh Tale. Robin, Brook, Luffy, and Chopper all have Devil Fruits. I don't see Oda making it so a good chunk of the crew can't go to the final island, especially knowing what sort of history remains there that Robin would want to get her hands on.
What about a clash between the revolutionary army vs Imu and the Gorosei. Oda has been writing alot about the Revery (apologize for my misspellings) but you can't say it is kinda hype that we may finally get to find out the abilities of the infamous Monkey D. Dragon

What if Oda is referring to Hachinosu instead of Elbaf when talking about "THAT island"? In theory, after leaving Egghead, they would see that Garp was captured at Hachinosu in the News. Knowing Luffy, he would probably head straight over to Hachinosu in order to save Garp. Another theory is that Gecko Moria and Perona are on the Blackbeard ship approaching Egghead after having escaped Hachinosu and the Straw Hats learn about the situation from those two.

I think Shanks is after Blackbeard but once Luffy hears about Garp, Luffy is pulling up to Hachinosu. There’s no way he sees that and says, “I’m gunna get the one piece instead”

What if the long anticipated fight is the Shanks vs Luffy but its the modern day version of when the Whitebeard Pirates fought with Roger pirates in the Oden backstory. They fight at Elbaf but its more for fun and to see how strong each other is.
I think a Davey Back Fight between luffy and Shanks on Elbaf could be a great way to bring Long Ring Long Land into more light, considering that was the only place we’ve seen a davey back fight before
My alternate location idea instead of Elbaf: I think it’d be POSSIBLE for Luffy to stop in on Pirate Island, start tearing it apart when Black Beard shows up and they fight. The unexpected outcome? Stalemate where they decide the now redirected navy fleet that was at egghead is on the way. It would also add to the Mugiwara Luffy Gauntlet, as we’ve been apt to reference the parallels to (impel, marineford, sabaody, Florian triangle)
I guess I never really thought of it but Blackbeard injured shanks before he had either of those busted devil fruits. We haven't seen any displaying of conquerors from Blackbeard yet and he still managed a feat that even Mihawk wasn't able to 😬
What if Shanks got his scar protecting buggy? Like Shanks, Buggy hasn't been in the same areas or has had screen time with Blackbeard. Plus Buggys backstory as to how he ended up in Rogers crew is very curious
my guess is shanks vs blackbeard flashback to when shanks gets the eye scar for that character vs that character.....for that thing, my guess was for the road poneglyph with the burn scar
