Card price are just insane cause of breakers they should be just making ones for breakers and one for people who can't afford 4,000 bucks there killing the hobby

Most breakers are losing money. This will catch up to the manufacturers eventually. They are going to be sitting on tons of inventory.
They just do kill the card collecting cause they overflood the market with good cards that should be higher in price
100% correct! Not only Bowman but all the “high end” products are crazy. Hundreds of dollars for 2 or 3 cards. Yeah they might be a numbered auto but not always a “big name”.
Everytime I buy those high end three card boxes, I get like 20 dollars in value back lol

Thank you for making this video. All valid points and I do agree with you about Bowman retail, it's still outrageously priced. Most places were between $35-40 a blaster when you can find them. Even if you bought a case last year, it was still close to $30 per blaster in the case. I'll be watching when you break Bowman but I'll just stick to Bowman spotlight set and maybe Rookie of the Year Favorites. Take care boss.

Because the US dollar is only worth 3 cents. The problem is that people aren't getting paid more. I was hoping to afford a jumbo box but ended up with a hobby box. I got priced out of most stuff I liked a while ago. And if you don't get the pre-order from topps, the resell price will be higher . I expect the hobby boxes to be around 320 on places like ebay

Randomly stumbled on this vid. Couldn’t agree more with all of it. I pulled an orange shimmer Juan Brito from a blaster. I’ve opened three blasters and got a decent return and I usually have zero luck with ripping.

i will say one thing i like about the breakers is for us people who can’t afford products like tribute so we do smaller buy ins and get some cool cards. But this is outrageous

I do great with Bowman. Last year I did the best ever. Every box seemed like it was gold. Blasters though. The hobby boxes got me everytime
Only year that was tough for blasters for me was 2021. The past few years have been rock solid in retail. Good luck this year!

Back 2017, Topps chrome jumbo with 5 autos were $200 a box. Now…hmmmm…

I pulled an Andrew painter superfractor out of 2022 bowman retail in a $7 hanger so retail can have bangers also got a lot of numbered cards and autos out of retail. Crazy how much money bowman is

The majority of people will say "yeah this is ridiculous, I'll never pay these prices!" (proceed to still pre-order no matter what the price).

I looked at her "Im not paying these prices" for 6 cards 😂...im from the era when I pulled my kobe rookies it was from $2pks from a toy store in bklyn, and $39 per box with 36 packs
I bought boxes of nba hoops, topps, upperdeck, ultra fleer, and I was guaranteed top rookies, now a Prizm hobby box is $1k and you might get a base wemby, yeah you may hit a big wemby but the breakers are getting to these cards before anybody...of course Ive thought about buyng high end boxes, but is it worth it, Megas and blasters is what Ive been doing since the i got back into the hobby...bless

This is WAAAY overpriced, I was eager to purchase in the pre-sale as well but then when I saw the prices, I had to do a double-take, thinking it might be Sapphire or something deluxe. Just looking at my orders from last year, I didn't buy Bowman base, but I did get Bowman Chrome, and the hobby box for that was $269. That's just $10 more than how much they're now charging for "regular" Bowman hobby. Crazy. I don't want to see how much this year's Chrome will cost. Maybe $400 for hobby and $600 for HTA?

It’s not only breakers but grading is also hurting collectors. The stupid high prices people are paying for 10 graded cards. Just because someone says it’s a 10 they want more money for a card. Wait for that day when you decide to let go of a card. Surprise!!

Well, I'm anxious for bowman cards. I buy a couple blasters and hangers here and there but i don't go crazy. You can speculate about up and coming stars all you want, but you're just speculating. I love baseball and cards are an added touch of fun. If you want to make $$$$$, invest in other things. But thanks for your efforts my man!

Bowman hobby box was $299.99 in 2022 from Topps so that one got cheaper . Blasters were 29.99 from Topps website in 2022 . one of the last times I ordered anything from them .

I got into the hobby again 16 months ago, spent $30,000, looked at the landscape and started to consolidate. Only buy boxes my 10 yo can open and $25,000 of that money is now in one Jordan, one Jackie Robinson, 5 Ken Griffey, one Shohei and a Mantle. That's how short of q time it took for me to say "TOPPS is nuts". We opened Big League last week. That was our huge box. 😂

@westernnycards I will look it up. I still buy Series 1, Stadium Club and Archives. I sell them on Ebay though, so make a large amount back. Give the rest to a lcs to give to kids.

My guess is that they weren't bought up. They were given to breakkers to promote the product with only a few actually sold to consumers.

We can thank the breakers for this price increase, it's absolutely disappointing for us who want to have the opportunity to open up these products. Singles is def a great idea, and I’ll def be doing some Vs content! Blasters vs Retail display for sure, and maybe 1 hobby vs 8-10 blasters if my friend decides to get one hobby. And yes they do call it value box as well, especially if you go to look up odds

This is because the MLB is involved. Having the team logos on the card kicked the price through the roof.
I still think the markup on cards is so massive relative to what it costs to produce them
Breakers buy up all the hobby on preorders which raises the price for collectors, then the breakers get praised for pulling good cards. Breakers absolutely ruin collecting for everyone wanting a good card. It's ridiculous and something needs to be done about it. They need to put a cap on how much hobby breakers can purchase for each release. It's completely unfair because they drive the market up and make it impossible for collectors to purchase AND/OR pull good cards for themselves. Even worse is that people buy into these breaks and say things like "I pulled this card" when they didn't - they overpaid someone else to pull it for them. Anything for the 'gram though, right?

You're right! It's the Breakers buying it up. The only way to afford this stuff is either retail or buy into breaks. I wish people would just boycott the product. That would force Topps to drop prices, but Breakers won't let that happen!

Everything is a Flipper Mentality now. Whether is breaking, grading, flipping singles. Everyone's looking at all of this as quick dollar signs. Hobbys are now over $330 on eBay and Jumbos are over $600. All of it is a joke.

Gambling has reached into all level of sports, including the hobby. Breakers and people who chase cards only to get an auto or colored refractor so they can flip it are nothing more than gamblers and we all pay for it. It's also insane that people have to take these card immediately to PSA (only PSA) and hope for a PSA 10. If you need a microscope to tell the difference between two cards, its really not worth the price difference. I would say to each their own, but we are all paying for this idiocy.

Flippers and breakers are destroying the card hobby. They don’t care about the hobby. They just care about making money. They don’t even look at the cards. They go straight to the hits and the rest are basically garbage to them. I am pretty sure that the are dumping tons of cards in the trash, because it’s gets expensive to ship all the products they go through.
