Super Mario Starshine is a modification of Super Mario Galaxy 2 that aims to mostly recreate Super Mario Sunshine in the Galaxy 2 engine. Today I am releasing a demo for this project which contains 20 Shine Sprites to collect! I hope you all enjoy it and I hope to see you all playing the full version when it's finished. Don't forget to have a good day/night and drink some water! :)

After watching this trailer, and playing the demo, I have come to the conclusion that Mario Starshine will be a video game

The perfect blend between mario sunshine and galaxy.
Yeah. Even if it's a recreation of Sunshine, it manages to feel distinct, and not just because it's made with the Galaxy engine. It recreates Sunshine missions along with adding new ones, plus other cool features like tweaks to the Isle Delfino hub world and such. I honestly can't wait to play it!!

Man this is gonna make the galaxy modding community expand, it was pretty small even new super mario bros wii has more modders as well as mario kart wii
Just played a bit of the demo and Mario Galaxy physics in a more open environment is something I didn't know I needed, this mod is brilliant. Looking forward to see where this goes!

This is so awesome! Super Mario Sunshine is my favorite game of all time and it works so well with the Galaxy 2 gameplay mechanics. The pipe levels are a bit too difficult though, but what you've done is so impressive. I wish you good luck and fun developing this project further. Can't wait to play more of it :)
Since Mario moves more slowly than in Sunshine, adding Launch Stars, Sling stars, or pipes as a method of fast travel would be convenient. You can use a scenario switch to make them unlock only after completing certain stars.

i really enjoyed playing the demo, i collected all 20 shine sprites and things i want to share are that:
i really liked how you came up with the idea of a clone daredevil comet, and within that comet i found out you can still go inside the hill secret
the silver shines in delfino plaza were really hard to find, so maybe in the final version you can make a little easier to find
the sunglasses actually make you lose the ability to star spin
and i'm surprised the test room is in the game, and good idea making a zero life area.
this was really fun and i look forward to the final product.
LATE EDIT: you saying the demo would come out soon was actually reasonable because it was actually soon and not 1 million eons from now.

From what I saw in Aurum's live, I think that the clone comet should be replaced since them and the windmill don't seem to mix all that well, and there is occasional lag but I don't know what it's due to. Other than that I wouldn't change a thing about this mod, it's a near perfect recreation of Sunshine with the Galaxy engine. By far the GOAT Galaxy mod along with Gravity.
Great! Thus mod is making Sunshine sooo much easier and enjoyable with new mechanics and less linear and frusratin g, Perhaps COOP too with ur Gecko codes!!

It would have been cool if changed the extra jumping when shaking the control by the flood mechanic
But anyways it was very good implemented the way you put the super powers that already exist to make it work like the sunshine

you need a physical copy of super mario galaxy 2, homebrew on your wii/wii u and Riivolution

Can you please share a bps or xdelta file the rar file you shared has no extractable or patchable files I have the original super Mario sunshine usa clean iso to patch with I also patched super Mario solarshine with it and it worked so if you'll share the patch file that would be great thanks

Not sure how legal doing that stuff is but you can mod your Wii/Wii U and play it on console that way via Homebrew and Riivolution.
