- Black Pit is a romhack for Paper Mario N64.
I know this was supposed to be released half a year ago, it took a lot longer but I think was worth it.
I have been making this mod for more than 2 years, I put a lot of care and passion into it, so I really hope all those Paper Mario fans out there like it.

If you're playing on emulator remember to set the RAM to 8MB, for PJ64 remember to disable Register Caching too

Damn Paper mario 64 rom hacks are pretty rare I'm glad to find this in my recommended, this looks epic.
There's discord server with dedicated channels to follow the development of various Paper Mario ROM hacks (or mods if you prefer) in the works
I don’t think they are exactly rare just that the tools haven’t been out very long and in the discord there’s about 8 in development

Man, this is an incredible amount of work. You made a new HUD, a new options menu, skins for Mario, achievements, furniture, the Pit itself, battle shortcuts, and (craziest to me) Stylish moves. I haven't had time to play it, but watching Fatguys playthrough I haven't seen bugs yet. You're an incredible programmer. I was tempted to say "romhacker", but that's an understatement of the work that went into this.
I just realized that the logo at 0:00 has the main collectible from the first 5 paper mario games around it, kinda neat. Also amazing work on this, very cool stuff. I hope people enjoy this.

This is so badass. I remember playing TTYD with my friend back in 2004 and thinking how cool it would be if the pit of 100 trials was in 64. Now I can experience that. Great job man, you made one of my childhood dreams come true.
I've been waiting for this for a year and a half, been following the development for a while, and now we finally get to enjoy the outcome of all that waiting. This looks absolutely wonderful. Was this made in decomp or assembly? If it was ASM that must've been batshit insane of a task to do, but even with decomp it still seems like a huge amount of work. Good job on this! Will for sure be enjoying this mod.

I actually downloaded the latest patch it solved the problem i was talking about! Awesome job on this rom hack man! Its been giving me something to do with my vacation time off work! Paper Mario 64 is my most favorite game. I love every type of challenge or mod that people put out for it. There needs to be more. This will be my first time playing black pit (just downloaded right now), but I'm very excited.

I just found out this was made. I'm really stoked to give this a whirl, not only because Paper Mario is one of my favorite games I've ever played, but because this is (to my knowledge) the first actual Paper Mario hack ever released!
The first actually finished hack was probably pro mode (aka hard mode), followed by master quest (aka hell mode) and there is a paper Mario 64 randomizer, so it's definitely not the first, but it's one of the best.

Happy to share how I did it as it was all free and I am LOVING every minute of playing this mod, Black Pit. EXTREMELY well done elDexter! I cannot stop playing! :D

@@danyattallah5334 Hello! I am so sorry for my late response, I have been busy with work. I am new to these emulators and mods and patches, but here is how I managed to successfully did it. I am in no way advertising or endorsing anything, and it is all free, so here I share how I got it to work on my Apple Mac:
First, before downloading choose a directory to download all files in to work it out of (I simply used my Desktop on my MacBook Pro because I am lazy and it is all there, front and center). OpenEmu is free and allows you to play several video games (for when you download them) once you import it into its libraries (we will discuss more of that later).
So, I started off by downloading OpenEmu here:
openemu.org/
Then, you need to download the BASE GAME (the one we know and love for almost 2 decades), Paper Mario for Nintendo 64.
I did so here at this website Emulator Games (link is just below); I hit the "Save Game" button (I think) and it downloaded:
www.emulatorgames.net/roms/nintendo-64/paper-mario/
Next, you will need to download the LEGENDARY "Black Pit" provided by the Legend himself, elDexter, in this video's description :)
(download the patch in the description of this very exact video).
Now, we are almost there. Now, we have to "patch" what you downloaded from elDexter with the *original* Paper Mario that you downloaded after downloading OpenEmu. Patching is creating a new game from using a base game (Paper Mario for Nintendo 64) and patching it with the code that you downloaded from elDexter, to create what is now playable as Paper Mario Black Pit.
I used MultiPatch to patch the game together and downloaded this as well:

(Remember, you need to download MultiPatch as well to your computer)
Now, since it is all in the same directory (or Desktop if you were like me) and open MultiPatch.
For "Location of Patch File" I selected Paper Mario
The next one is "Location of File to Patch" I selected Black Pit (the file you downloaded from elDexter)
Then, in the last empty box name it what you want (Paper Mario Black Pit, Black Pit, PMBP, whatever you want really), and voila!
Now, open OpenEmu and import the newly patched game into there. And begin playing!
If you are playing on your computer without an external controller (like me), go to OpenEmu's menu selection "Preferences" and Nintendo 64 controller will be able to be found. Go ahead and enter your shortcuts for your convenience and have fun!

Ok this is kinda cool, the first 3 paper mario fame had the pit of 100 trials as a main staple side quest, but his rom Hack makes it the main focus of this game
Won't spoil it but the end is worth all the crazy grinding you have to do in this game.
I, personally, found this mod just before December, and subsequently sunk over 40 hours into beating it. It is SO GOOD, I love it, thank you so much for it! All I have to do now is gear myself up to beating the classic and roguelike pits on Very Hard! How hard can it be?
Wow, a paper mario game where coins are the main drop from battles... and it actually manages to give the player incentive to battle?! This is what modern paper mario games should be if they refuse to have an exp system. Fantastic!
