    I bought the fly fisk from these guys this year. Along side a golden orca. I pretty much daily drive the fly fisk when riding at the ski area (wolf creek). Riding a gentem changed the way I think about snowboarding. My gentem stick taught me things.

    Flyfisk is Mayjah. Full send kine. Tress, not so nimble, not recommended. Your review is spot on. You didnt mention Taro’s accel camber tech which works with that taper to keep the nose up for straight speed runs on piste - makes the larger 164+ float like on water on groomers too.

    At 5’9 and 140lbs a rocket fish has been my daily driver for 9 years and it’s the best board I’ve ever owned by far. It eats deep pow and tight trees like no other and performs very well on the groomers. The tail is very easily damaged on the rocket fish however…resist the temptation to jam it into the show by the tail unless you have abundant pow. Once the seal on the tail gets cracked, water gets in and freezes and eventually the laminate starts to separate from the wood and the wood can be weaker and even break. I’ve seen it on two different boards but I ride almost every day in the woods so it’s definitely hard use. I’ve successfully repaired my first board by riveting metal triangles over the tail and still use it almost everyday! My wife got the one I bought to replace it 🎉

    you can see in the other snowboard manufacturers the influence of Gentemstick has had over the last 5 years. If you have any influence on the future design Gentem. please ask for scaled up Mantaray for bigger riders. like 163-165 wide... that's my dream board.

      You're right on that. If you've seen the Burton Big Gulp, Radio Boardshop designed that with Burton and got a lot of inspiration from the Gentems. I'll see if I can pass the word on. They have much more smaller boards because the Japanese are usually smaller people

    Hey guys, love the vid! I'm looking at the Big Fish v Rocket Fish. Basically after something for a Japan trip next winter and would like it to float well, be able to surf all over the mountain including carve and slash. I'm leaning more towards the big fish as I have read the rocket fish might be a little unsteady at speed and during tracked snow. But I'd love your advice. I would ideally like it to be good in the trees as I do love tree runs (which is my only doubt with the big fish) My boot size is 10.5, weight about 170 lbs.

      @SearchofSnowboarding  Před rokem +1

      It depends on what you want more out of the board, more maneuverable in the trees would be the Rocket Fish, more stable at higher speeds would be the Big Fish. Either board is going to ride awesome and float amazingly

    The stringray looks like burton's hth in so many spec. Wondering if they are any similar in riding

    • @SearchofSnowboarding
      @SearchofSnowboarding  Před 8 měsíci

      The stingray is going to be a lot softer, you could ride a lot harder with the HTH

    Looking for the best pow board I can get for a Snow Cat Tour in Utah in March - gonna be in deep deep pow. I'm 5'10" 205 lbs. What would you suggest? Been looking at the Mid-fish or Rocket Fish

    • @SearchofSnowboarding
      @SearchofSnowboarding  Před 6 měsíci

      Sick! Rocket Fish could be on the smaller side for. I'd maybe look into the Barracuda or Fly Fisk

    What do you recommend for deep carve, some pow, and sidehits/jumps?

    Which manta ray would you recommend? The 156 or the giant (159)? I’m 6’0” 180 lbs

    • @SearchofSnowboarding
      @SearchofSnowboarding  Před 2 lety +1

      You could really do either. Going shorter will be slightly more maneuverable and going bigger will hold up better at higher speeds. If your boot size is an 11 or larger, you might want to do the 159 for the extra width

    U guys try the spoonfish 152? I heard that is a surfy daily driver also

    • @SearchofSnowboarding
      @SearchofSnowboarding  Před 2 lety

      Yeah, we actually have the Spoonfish too. It is a good surfy daily driver and a little on the softer side

    The manta ray looks pretty siik man. Kinda reminds me of my older Gnu Spam as far as the shape goes. Do they ride pretty stiff?

    • @SearchofSnowboarding
      @SearchofSnowboarding  Před 2 lety

      None of the Gentems are really that stiff, they're all pretty mid flexing
