it's not about winning this competition. chooka you have an amazing gift, no "talent" show does you justice, and no award does not represent what you have. it really is not about that, you have much more than that. it's rare to see this kind of raw music talent today. i would dare to compare you to some really most talented musicians ever in classical music. but i already said this when i spoke to you before, it's not only about classical music either, your compositions have very moving and moody feel, not able to describe it, i actually deeply feel every note you play. best of luck in future work, don't ever stop, it would be a huge waste.

As a pianist, and a huge fan of improv, as I do it a lot myself, there are no wrong notes in his performance. There are mistakes in the fact that he was trying to hit certain notes and he didn't hit them properly, but it's not wrong. As for dynamics and musicality? He's obviously got a beautiful tone in many parts of the song and it's also obvious that he plays from his heart. This is not perfection, this is interpretation of something, that something being piano and he does it wonderfully. :)

This is the best. From the other 1 and 2. if you listening purely from your ear, didn't look at the video,just listen the sound. Than you will say, THIS IS THE BEST from before. so many tone.

Today is the first time I've ever heard of him or watched him play and it's amazing. I'm in no position to criticize anybody's piano skills, but anybody who picks on his talent is jealous without a doubt. This is his third song I've listened to and it's unbelievable. I couldn't tell you what the pedal even does and I wouldn't change anything.
This is pretty amazing. Self taught and plays from the heart.

Anyone who can do this: create and perform music on stage, is the real thing. This is what the music world needs. Real musicians creating music live. That's gotta be hard. Anyone can practice a song 1000 times and play it good. Chooka brings something new to the table. Excellent.

All of history's greatest pianists(Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven, Liszt, Grieg) would jump out of their seats in sheer excitement after listening to Chooka!! He's in the same league as all of them!!

this one was the best in tones,melody and show us he can play slow,soft pieces too. i read some last comments he doesnt use the black key, well i saw he playing with them during the whole performance!! he is a genius:)

artistic wise his music is beautiful i mean think about it his music reflects life and death his music can be made on the spot he breathes life into the piano but when the song is done it is gone forever never to be seen by anyone again in that whatever he plays is the most beautiful piece anyone has heard its a once in a lifetime phenomenon

There may be some truth to what the previous critic said about Chooka playing a lot of redundant chords and fooling the untrained ear into believing he is a virtuoso, when he may or may not be. However, he is quite an entertainer. That can't be disputed and that is what people want, is an entertainer. A number of great, classically trained pianists said Liberace was not a great pianist. Phyllis Diller, who some may not have known was a piano virtuoso, said Liberace was not a good pianist. However, one thing Liberace was, was a master at entertaining the masses. So' true piano virtuoso or not, this kid has the potential for an amazing future. While true piano virtuosos criticized Liberace for being a less than perfect pianist, he was captivating audiences and holding them in the palm of his hand and laughing at those critics all the way to the bank.
He is amazing and a genius, nobody without a real talent could play like Chooka. He is as good as or better than Rick Wakeman or Jordan Rudess.. and he is only 17. Chooka please don't get discouraged! Keep playing and creating your music, you were born a gifted genius and you possess something that cannot be bought or taught and you are so creative that it might look strange to ordinary people We have seen how you created beautiful melodies that just came out of your hands. Congratulations Chooka on your debut album, its awesome with every track a winner - some made me laugh and others brought a tear to the eyes. Stick with Mark as he knows what he's doing and produces great sounds. Hope to catch a live performance when you make it up north.

If you mean the voting, it was actually the judges who voted me off. I was voted into the Grand Final, but the judges decided not to put me through. I'm still playing music and have heaps of music videos on my channel and elsewhere :) All the best, Chooka

@Brodesicles123 agreed. The ability to be a talented improviser is to take new changes and make it cohesive with the rest of the piece, which is what he does. That's talent.
Chooka should have won no ifs or buts about it. If I had the money id be paying for Chooka to record on his houseboat just like he wanted. I have never nor will I ever see someone as talented as he is in my lifetime and it's people like him we need to hold onto. You're a winner to me Chooka!
