This was really informative. I’ve watched a lot of videos with the same title and no one really touched on this. Thanks for giving your perspective. I’m actually trying to make the switch into UX design and I’m not crazy about tech. I’m doing it for the money and high potential of remote work possibilities. I am interested in UX design the more I learn about it and I think I do have the ability to love it as I continue to stick to it. I just am not crazy about it just yet, lol.
Totally get you and it's awesome that you are being honest with yourself! Sometimes you don't know if you truly love it until you start working. I'd try to find a freelance gig you can do for a short time, while getting paid! You can see if you like it, while still getting that coin!
I'm about to start the interview process for UX design jobs! I totally agree with you, breaking into tech so far has been SOOOOO MUCH WORK! and I'm not at all looking forward to the long interview process but praying for a quick and semi-painless process
Idk if this counts, but I love tech in terms of social media, digital media, and stocks like apple, Tesla, learning about what they do and why… we’re growing so fast and it’s interesting. And I get hyper focused when it comes to research and synthesis. I blast some music and I’m in the zone. Boom. And I was always good with numbers.

The long and intimidating interview process is what makes it so hard for people to start applying!
