    INGREDIENTS:
1 cup red lentil (200g) (washed and soaked in water for at least 20 - 30 mins (or overnight) until the lentils are very tender)
(NOTE: Some lentils are more dry than the others and therefore need more soaking time. How to know if the lentils are soaked well? You should be able to cut a lentil piece with your nails, effortlessly. If not, then soak it longer)
1 inch of ginger (roughly chopped)
4 cloves of garlic (roughly chopped)
1 cup flat leaf parsley OR cilantro/coriander leaves
1/2 cup almond flour/meal (50g) OR bread crumbs
    Salt to taste
1 to 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder (OPTIONAL)
1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper OR Indian red chili powder OR 2 green chilles OR Chili flakes (OPTIONAL)
    1 teaspoon cumin powder
    1 teaspoon black pepper powder
Juice of 1 lime OR 1 lemon OR to your taste
    1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Vegetables: (you can use any vegetable of you choice)
    1 teaspoon cooking oil
1 medium onion (grated - about 1 cup approx.)
1 medium potato (grated - about 1 cup approx.)
1 medium carrot (grated - about 1 cup approx.)
    1 cup cabbage (grated/finely chopped)
    Salt to taste
1/2 cup cooking oil for frying

I was always under the impression that lentils must be cooked or boiled before making kebabs.

I just made this today, very delicious! I made a few substitutions, instead of the almond flour I used a 1/2 cup cooked quinoa, which I made on the dry side so it was very fluffy and not watery, did add smashed garlic to the cooking process so omitted more garlic when processing it later with everything else. For the vegetables I used carrot, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower and spinach (pan sauteed separately, squeezed out liquid, chopped then added to rest of vegetable mixture), all I had small amounts left in the fridg so chucked it all in, so skipped the potato. Seasonings I used were garam masala, cayenne, chili flakes, coriander, cumin, grated fresh ginger, salt & pepper and juice of 1 lime. Like other commenters, I chose to bake in a 425 degree oven for 25 minutes, and shaped in patties, which I flipped after 15 minutes. Came out great! Thanks!

I made these just as you described other than substituting mung beans soaked overnight in place of lentils, and leftover mashed potatoes in place of shredded. These are so amazingly flavorful! This will definitely become my new favorite way to use lentils. Thank you for sharing this delicious recipe ✌

Hey guys, read the recipe under the description, it has alternatives for the almond flour, I used bread crumbs and it turned out fine.
They absorb a lot of oil so use just enough in the pan, a couple of teaspoons were enough for me.
They were good eaten immediately after frying, but I actually found the texture even better after they sat for ten or so minutes.
Great recipe, I'm going to make burger patty sized ones next time for vegan burgers.

I baked them, as some in the comments suggested (425F for about 25 mins). I used an AirBake baking sheet. They were crispy and delicious!

Eventually, all words become politicized and hijacked by ideology. Vegan in cooking simply means “no animal products.” Nothing to be afraid of. It’s the same as reacting to the term “Russian” or “Japanese” or “German” in front of the word recipe. If you like the ingredients, that’s all that matters.

Also, my food processor is 'medium' sized and I realized I needed to split the mixture into two in order to process it all. I baked some and fried a few in coconut oil. I will make this again and bake them all as I prefer to avoid the oil. I baked them on parchment paper and that worked well. I anticipate it will work better on the second try!

Great video, helpful reviews. Made myself some today by baking them. Lowered the heat as my oven is powerful, I'd rather have it cooked at lower for longer than burnt quickly and undercooked. Substituted cabbage with brussel sprouts that I had lying around. Didn't have any potatoes or carrots on hand, so my mixture was more crumbly and didn't hold well. I pulsed some of the lentils to be more paste like and added about 2 tbs of olive oil, just so they can hold together. Tasted amazing, also suggest using fresh chillies if possible!

Just made it. Fantastic. I fried mine but saved some to grill in the oven to taste the difference. I was a bit worried using all the spices and used Kashmiry Chili Powder which I bought yesterday here in an Indian shop in South Africa. These patties/kebabs have a lovely spicy flavour. Not hot, just slowly lingering in your mouth. This will become a regular meal in my house. I'm a subscriber now. Thank you!

Rita T Yes, the voice is very clear, though accent sound forced: but, the narrator should let the cook herself ( I think it’s a lady); also say something, so we know that the cook is different than the narrator.
The Kebabs though sound delicious and, healthy!
Seeing the cooks’ hands, I remembered myself, that even though I got arthritis in my hands, but I still did cook a lot.
Just shows arthritis or age doesn’t stop anyone do what they really want to do.
      Good Job!

I noticed something different in this video as well. Instructions are still clear, however the pitch in her voice is a bit different from the other videos...as if she tried to sound a bit more energetic..? Unfortunately, it was a bit annoying to hear as it was a louder/forced. Please don’t change your soft, soothing voice / communication style. I absolutely love your recipes, how objectively you explain them, and especially your soothing calm voice.
