Whenever my carts degrade, I always notice a little bit of oil left on top. If I can just melt it out onto parchment paper, I can just use my rig on it.
What if, if one doesn’t have the tools you’re using
I figured it out lol. I’ve had problems with getting the top off a specific brand I’ve been using, never been able to get the mouthpiece off with anything so just had to break the glass every time to get it open and it makes a terrible mess and leaves some glass in the cart. Well today I randomly tried sticking the mouth piece in the hole for one of those cheap chain locks for doors, pushed down and it came right off like a bottle opener, didn’t shatter at all. First time success with that cart.

So I did buy this and this is showing you how this works on the plastic carts but the metal ones I had an issue with and eventually the pliers ended up breaking. I tried on multiple metal 510 threads but I only was about to get one off with no issues.

@Bill Waterson, thats a perfect analogy, and just to expand on it, a few years ago what people would do is buy the prefilled cartridge and when it ran out they would buy a preloaded syringe ( extractors use to sell both options) for cheaper and refill that cart a few times. If you look on the market preloaded syringes are basically extinct, because of the "locked" cartridge, it forces you to buy another cartridge and of course the profit margins in the cartridge are way higher than reselling the plastic syringe.
@@danhoff6890 I've been buying syringes and refilling for years now. I still do. Even with these sealed top cartridges, I can carefully slice off the top with a Dremel and a cutoff wheel, then use some shrink tubing to hold it together after refilling. It's not actually cheaper than disposables anymore, but it's the only way I can get a particular strain I like (STANDRD Dragon Punch) in liquid form. I can't even buy it pre-loaded into cartridges for some reason, they just never seem to have it in stock, so it's self-fill or nothing.
@@mal2ksc that is pretty crafty with the Dremel tool, I actually never tried it but I visualize it working really pretty well! sometimes you have to jump thru some hoops to get what you like, its wild.
Thanks for the idea. Plyers to grip sitting as base on table, then took blade part of plyers to get between the tip and the base and pulled up and bam, it instantly came off.

I was very successful using a small pen knife to remove the top plastic gasket after removing the mouth piece.
@cmtdosey1, thats a great little method, glad it worked well! and a great tip.
You can do this with a simple old school bike lock and diagonal pliers. Put the thread end into the bike lock to hold it in place and use the blade of the pliers to slip under the seal and just wiggle. Mine popped right off. White tips are a little harder to get off though just fyi

Please let me try to help you all out. You don’t need what he used, I literally have opened them all with Chanel locks or vice grips.
All you do is grab the mouthpiece with one of those tools and place it on a hard surface. Put your other hand on the rest of the cart to keep it firm against the hard surface like a counter or table. You just rock up and down using leverage to loosen the top. It’s pretty easy once you get used to it. I broke some at first but I have gotten them all safely done now. Got all my oil out of them, and I likely could put them back together and reuse if I wanted. 👌🏻
if youre really, really desperate, just hold the mouthpiece in your teeth and wiggle the actual cart with your hands id think?
Push your fingernails on the rubber and start turning and pulling the mouth piece. Worked for me

I just wiggle the mouthpiece till it gets a bit loose and then use a big pair of scissors in the same way you used that specialist type of pliers. Literally comes right off with no force

If the cylinder is plastic rather than glass, a Dremel and a cutoff wheel is probably the fastest and cleanest way in.
Does this work on CCell Jupiter style carts? Great stuff
@JamminMan77 , when we were designing the accessoryu rods we did use a few CCELL / Jupiter lock carts to test and they did work, however I was at the MJ biz convention tradeshow and when going into the CCELL booth and Jupiter booths they launched a ton of new carts this year so the 4 or 5 popular models we tested , but not every one of the new ones, however looking at the sizing and mechanisim they dont look that different so more than likley even the new ones just launched should work. - hope it helps. -Dan and thx for watching.
The airo carts don’t have 510 thread They are magnetic so how can I mount it to the base ????
I used the connection end of one of those $5 chain door locks, slid the mouthpiece in and pushed down and the top came right off. I didn’t need anything to hold the base, just did what he did without having to buy anything. The same brand of cart I did that on always would break and shatter into the wax like hell if I tried the plier method or any other method.
@Darius Booker, Airo makes the cylindrical Cartridges, and the pods as well, you have the cartridges correct?
@@danhoff6890 yes. The cylinder cartridge with no thread underneath. Only a magnetic base that snaps into the battery.
@@dariusbooker78 So The cart dub is really meant for 510 scre in threads cartridges as the magent bottom of theose carts are meant to easily pull away from the Base. in this scenario you would have a pair of houshold pliers and place the cart over the 510 screwhole and use the houshold pliers to hold the base of the cart against the metal plate then use the popping pliers and wedge peg from the kit to remove the top. The Key is is to wedge the top while securing the screws since that cart is one of the 5% of non 510 carts on the market, that is how you could do it....and btw for houshole pliers dont use the neednose styl as they dont grip as well as the standard style.

Grab lighter and burn the end till u hear a slight crisp... then turn the cap quickly... u wont burn urself if done correctly.... the cap is stuck BECAUSE of the OIL...... jus burn and turn fam ...... @julianbelizario3014, I think that is a great suggestion as the oil will be like glue in there and make it hard to remove the top. The video and equipment was more for Cartridges that come with factory childproof mechanisims where it will take more than heat to lift,. The tamper resistance sytems require 13-20 Pounds of force you need to apply to the cap without breaking the glass. But your method is great for when the oil basically glues the thread together for sure, your comment will be useful here for people. thank you for watching!

@Thekrazykyleman, to get the oil out of a single cartridge the math doesnt make sense , because you can put that towards another cart....with that fact even I agree that the $20 would be wasted. However you do have to atleast partially admit it is a useful tool once you have 10 or 20 carts in a small box that dont work, thats when it becomes a reasonable investment. Go look arround at the costs of pliers, aluminum and a scentproof bag, and you wi;ll quickly see that our prices are not too high in comparison for the market for these materials.
@@danhoff6890 idk dude I took a pair of scissors and squeezed them slightly on the side and the top popper right off. I already had the scissors. Maybe it's useful for some. But in my case it wouldn't be.
I'm a very frugal engineer. If I can find a way to do something without having to buy stuff it's good enough for me.

@keypiggy, unlocking usually doenst break the mechanisim so it can be re-used, however if the cart isnt working to begin with you dont want to refill it .
Then I used a Hand torch to hear the glass and oil as of to remove reclaim from glass.
The vid I just needed lmao couldn’t get it off nd pass it to a different cartridge at first till I saw this I had to change it because the one from the ceramic was giving burnt Marc’s in the bottom nd that’s even worst for the lungs

@themusiclab2621, you probably need to preheat on the first hit because the oil is solidified arround the coil giveing you the first couple hits as a "dry hit" giving you a burnt taste.

I just heat of the glass slightly and the thc pours out. Why scrape it all your doing is smudging it all around, or am I wrong ?
@Stevefehervari779, depending on what blend it is and how long the cartridge has been sitting will determine how much time, heat , and ease as to which it will pour out... with some carts it will work as you said but with many that have sat a long time, or itsd just really thick solidified distillate, they need to be upseidown and steadily heated the full 20 minutes for gravity to let the concentrates move down. Sidenote from your handle it seems like your from the same City in Hungary that more than half my fam is from, not everyday you see that lol , cheers to the "White Castle " that isnt the burger place. LOL.
If you heat it up it pours out of the hole in the mouthpiece where you draw the air from?

You heat it up with lighter first. Pulls right off.... What I need to know is how to get bottom off the vape pen. Charger port slipped down. Do you know?

@bibbodyhellcat, they usually use a hydrolic lever in the filling facilities to press / crimp them on. You can also do it by hand but you have to give it a good push and torque the top on.
I feel like Canadian carts get vaccuum sealed after use from your own mouth., making it impossible to take caps off.
So take the top off before you even start using it. Break that seal. Put it back on of course, but it will (probably) not be airtight. It will still be liquid-tight, which is what you really care about. Using it shouldn't be enough to undo the damage, so when the cartridge is empty, you should still be able to open it.

@toma58uenaventur, I haven personally held a jeeter cart but it looks like a G5 cart, the pliers on a couple G5 were able to get in between the cart top rim and mouthpiece crease to wedge it up. I however dont know if there is any difference between a Jeeter and standard G5 by looking at images on google.

would this work with a torch disposable?
@Jon Perez, the Cart Dub mounting plate is set up for disposable round vape cartridges, the Torch disposable is flat and ovalic so it wont work with the system, however ifyou are just looking to pop the top off the pliers will probably fit between the body and mouthpeice and help you wedge them off, but the recovery trey it wont fit.

Hey I get them open all the time!! Take your thumb and start trying to push it off and you’ll see how it gaps. If you have something thin enough like a flat thing dental tool you could stick it in there and basically wedge it off!

@@kaitlynkelly116 that will work and creative method, thank you for sharing! just for people reading in the comments and trying at home, when you wedge off with any type of tool be careful not to apply Opposite (downward) force on the glass while popping the top off because you can easilky break the glass if you do.... in the video we pry because all the pressure goes onto the metal insert rods and not the tank glass resrvoir so when manually doing it, incorporate this into technique.
I was super concerned because some of these childproof locks they put on these products are very stoner proof too. But the lock on my cart I got today I just had to push in a small nub and turn it and bang the top popped off and out it came. Shazam!

@Amy C, many of these sealed carts are on there very tight so you do have to put some effort into it for sure, but you dont need lots of streagth as the good leverage you have with the pliers and the bases, in the video I used a Black platform so when doing close ups I dont get reflextion into the lens / glare off of the wooden table I used.. That black platform is padded and does require a little extra push, so if you use a flat hard surface will make it easier for sure than I did in the video. thank you for watching!

@xenopac, well if it popped off without hassle then that makes accessing your oil easy, if it popped off randomly while using it you should try to Pop it back and lock it for use.
Why not just make them with threaded tops. All that tugging cant be good for the cartridge ceramic cartridges should be used very carefully to extend life. I ordered some full ceramic from you guys once and its because of the wack snap on design
@nathanmelbihess3820, I agree with you it is so much easier for a threaded top and efficient. However now most extractors and producers will only fill oil into tamper proof carts so the contents of the oil for safety and consistency remain the way it was extracted.
