Lizard Skin Sound Control is a one-part, water-based acrylic coating that can easily be sprayed onto the interior or exterior of your ride. Unlike sound control mats, LizardSkin SC provides an even, seamless coverage to whatever you are applying it to. It is non-toxic and Class A fire-rated, and can reduce noise by up to 15dB. In addition to the noise reduction qualities, it will also drastically reduce panel attenuation (vibration - smack the roof of your project car and you’ll hear it).
Lizard Skin Sound Control also makes a great replacement for the flooring in your truck or Jeep. Whether you’re sick of dealing with damp carpeting, or you just don’t want to go through the hassle of taking your seats out in order to install a new vinyl mat, LizardSkin SC can help. Simply remove your old flooring, clean the floor area, and spray LizardSkin SC on the floor. You can leave as-is, or spray a topcoat sealer (paint or clear coat) to make it easier to clean, and you’re done.
Since it’s water-based, clean up is simple - Just use soap and water.
A one gallon pail covers approximately 22-25 square feet, and a two gallon pail covers approximately 46-50 square feet at .040-.060 inch thickness. A one gallon pail will typically cover the floor of a mid-size car, or most of the cab of a regular cab truck.
If applying both the Ceramic Insulation and the Sound Control, apply the Sound Control first, let dry, and then apply the Ceramic Insulation.
Both products can be topcoated as well. You can either apply a topcoat directly to the product, or you can sand the product down before applying your topcoat.
Lizard Skin Ceramic Insulation is a one-part, water-based acrylic coating that can easily be sprayed onto the floor, firewall, or roof of your ride. Unlike heat shield mats, LizardSkin CI provides an even, seamless coverage to whatever you are applying it to. It is non-toxic and Class A fire-rated, and can reduce heat transfer by up to 30 degrees F.

Can this product replace the foam that is used inside the wheel wells of trucks???

The foam that's found inside the inner rear wheel arch area on a truck is used for sound deadening (anti-squeak). It also holds in moisture, and is a big contributor to rust in that area of the truck. LizardSkin can be used as a sound control on the exterior (including underneath) of a vehicle. It's not necessarily an even comparison to that spray in foam from the manufacturer, as that goes in between the panels, though. We used LizardSkin Sound Control in the wheelwell areas of our 53 Chevy pickup, and it made a big difference in cutting down on road noise. After a few thousand miles it's still looking good.
