Landscaping and digging holes for plants is more joyful than working out in the gym 🏋️‍♀️. How I miss that kind of exercise. I last just an hour in a gym here in Switzerland. While I stay whole day long in a huge garden. Pumping water manually, squatting to dig holes for bananas among other activities.
When I can't sleep in the evening I still work under the moonlight.

One of my dreams is to be surrounded by nature and trees of course, just like you, but unfortunately we don't have enough space/land to plant them, so you and Sherlyn are very blessed indeed to plant anything you want in your spacious land. Not wanting to be repetitive but no other way to describe it, your underwater video/photography is just simply amazing, the marine species are absolutely a delight to the eyes. You guys really have the best of both worlds, on land and in water. Blessed are thou! Thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives. Stay safe and God bless.

Finn, correct me if I’m wrong, I think the Philippine Iron Wood Tree is called “Mangkono” which has a scientific name of “Xanthostemon Verdugonianus” while the Kamagong or Mabolo Tree in English is called “Velvet Apple or Velvet Persimmon” with a scientific name of “Diospyros Blancoi”. It’s all on Wikipedia. 🙂✌🏼❤️🇵🇭🇺🇸

Remember the strongest of a trees root system is as wide as its crown. So if a tree could grow 10 meters wide the tree should be planted 5 meters to the nearest wall and have the tree constantly pruned.

I just love watching this lovely couple. So nice and beautiful land you got planting more trees and fruit trees will make it cool.
My tip for you in planting that plants or trees will surely survive in that so dry ground, pour some water or a pail of water in the hole before planting the trees and water the top too..same as the vegetables and ornamental plants , the hole you dug keep it wet. It will surely grow even you dont water the new plants for several days.

Be mindful also of where you plant those big trees…you don’t want their roots to damage your property underneath when it’s full grown..some trees grow their roots outward instead of downwards…just a reminder…tell sherlyn to ask the knowledgable locals about them before finding the best spot to plant them..Enjoy your building process,be safe always..❤

Make a fast forward look of the property with the trees and plants overgrown; how close to the house and damage trees can cause during storms. You might end up cutting them in the end. Trees are beautiful as long as not too close to the house.

Talisay tree can offer shade, but you can't eat the fruit. Since lemons, lime and calamanci is expensive where we are, I have them in our backyard. We had pomelo that was already bearing fruit, I gave it to a friend. I have one navel orange that bears plenty of sweet juicy fruits around November-December. We have grapefruit, one pomegranate, five guavas (huge fruits--they call it guapple), and 3 varieties of dragon fruits. Your hardwork will be rewarded. A wide place to accommodate plenty of trees, vegetables and fruits in no time. Keep it up!👌😊🌹🌱🌿🌼

Wow! I learned anew... KAMAGONG tree is an IRON TREE. When i was a child we have that plenty in the forest of Negros Occidental. My father used to tell us that wood is best for making furnitures and house post and jammed. And it will stand for time. In our little barrio, there was a lumber company that produces different kinds of wood pieces for building houses. Maybe because of massive lumber, the logs on our mountains at Negros Occidental becomes dormant and denuded. That forced that logging company transfers its business. Our little barrio used to look like a lumber toys. It was common to see trains number 1 to 12 that traverse the barrio. Some carrying long logs from the mountain while other trains carrying finished product that some are packed some are rough, stocked to their storage. There was a huge cutting saw waiting for the log thrown to river and pushed by worker to its conveyor. These events was just a usual i can see in everyday outside our school room during recess and vacant time accross the company. Since my school situated on a hilly area, the view of that part of operation very visible. My story was last scenario during my elementary years. To proved my fact, one train used to carry lumber was on display at the city plaza of Sagay City, Negros Occidental. 🤣

This is a suggestion, with your pick up if a proper spare tire doesn't come with one, then you can purchase a proper tire as a spare. You can buy a battery power tire inflator to inflate the flat tire so it will help in jacking up the pick up to make tire changing easier. I heard that Ford is pulling out of the Philippines. Would this cause problem later on?
You could make use of the tank to hold rain water after the construction. Looks like the soil soil in the construction site needs improvement for growing projects.

Hi Finn! The proper way to plant or transplant a tree from a container is to keep the top of the root ball level with the ground soil, not too deep. Bracing and cabling young trees are important too for stability and care during growth and to withstand strong winds.

That has always been the conventional way of planting however, there is an indian docu of A person successfully reforesting an area (not the forest man video) digging a deeper hole and putting the plant ball deeper and topping it with soil at level of the root ball. This was successful because the roots are protected from the heat of the sun, water from the rain also goes to the hole, saturating the soil. Guess, this is a better method especially if you can not regularly water the new plants.
