  • Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is one of the most underrated motorcycle in my opinion, it comes with a price tag of almost Yamaha R15 and still there is not much fan following for the Suzuki Gixxer, so I was curious to know what was the Positives and the negatives of the motorcycle and came to know a lot.

As an owner, all said about SF250 is absolutely true, even the mileage, i am getting 46+km/l (during sensible riding).
very comfortable for long rides( i am 180cm tall),
pulls power "aka torque" better than anything in this segment.
suspension is neither hard nor soft.
    handling is excellent.
Headlight is excellent but the color is White so it is good enough for normal conditions ( additional "fog light" is preferred for regular traveling through ghat roads/mountain roads/foggy areas).
Make sure to idle the vehicle during cold start(morning) for "at least 3min to Maximum 5min" or till both sides of crank case is warm to touch(applicable for all petrol and diesel vehicles) - for long term engine life.
For all fuel Injected Vehicles, only apply the ignition (cranking the engine/starting) after a gap of 5 seconds of turning on the electrical and dashboard lights and indicators - to prevent fuel pump damage.

Three things Suzuki should definitely work on is the front suspension, indicators and the gearbox imo. I have been an owner of sf150 and the downshift drives me crazy. Although I have hacked it, so I don't feel it much as compared to my initial days. But I feel like if they work on these three things this machine is unbeatable. #UNDERRATED.

    Service interval of 250 is not 3500km. It's 4.5k - 5k or 6 months.... Gixxer 150 interval was 3.5k - 4k or 3 months.
Using the champ for almost 8 months clocked 10k kms, and super satisfied with the bike.
On mileage I'm getting 37-38 in city and 42-44 in highwayz... Where 38.5 is the suzuki claimed miles.

I owned Gixxer 150 2016 and I really really loved that bike. But there was quality issues in the bike. Engine started buring oil at 10k km (might be due to 20w50 oil which I used once). Fork seals used to go out every now and then. Conesets would go at every 5k km. The underbelly cat was a little problematic which caused ground clearance issue, specially with pillion.
Finally I sold her in 2021, purchased Fz v3 in 2022 which I hated and sold her, and purchased Ns200 in 2024.

    • @mdzaid5925
      @mdzaid5925 Před 3 měsíci

@@diztroid23 That's totally your preference if you like faired or naked. Personally I like naked much more than faired.
In faired, Karizma 210 is a really good option right now, but I would say wait sometime to get long term reviews of owners.
There are some news that a new Rs200 will also come soon.
Gixxer 250 is another great option, it's just I doubt their quality & reliability.
Lastly, semi naked you can look at f250.
      In naked,
If you want a fast "city" bike then probably n250 is the best in market.
If you want a performance oriented bike then ns200.
      Tourer, you have the dominar.
And honda had done a significant price cut on cb300r, you should definitely check that. I tried cb300f but that is trash.

      Use motul 7100 10w-50 don’t use 20-40 or 20-50
      Use motul chain lubricants….. spray it in gear-lever too….. near gear-lever nuts…..
check your chain if it’s too loose or too tight…… use engine flush while servicing use fuel system flush…… whenever you go to servicing tell them to check errors in ecu….. and yeah just open that front chain sprocket cover near engine and clean it……
I hope it may help you…..
      I’ve gixxer sf 250 motogp…. So it’s my personal experience……
You have to take care of your bike…. Regular servicing…. Good gear shifting like in the proper ratio you have to shift gears…..
