Today I got my first turkey. With my car. Hit a young hen and felt bad about it. Turned around and put her in the back of my vehicle then continued on to my shopping. After putting my groceries away, I watched your video, then out to the garage I went. Thankfully, none of my neighbors decided to walk their dogs past my house. HOA would've loved that. Thanks to you, I now have meat for tomorrow's supper in my fridge. Watching your video made it easy, and I sure do appreciate that. God bless.
You’re one of the good ones. I’ve seen too many people hit animals and just leave them on the side of the road to rot. It annoys me
Sometimes you just get that lucky 😂
To anyone out there leaving legs in the field your shorting yourself out of some great eats. Look up hank shaw's Turkey leg recipies. I save mine and make carnitas out of them. They are now one of my favorite parts of the bird. Good luck to everyone this spring if you get one try a new recipe with the legs in your crock pot and you won't be disappointed.
Just hit one with my truck man my neighbor was pissed when I drove out the other side of his barn...😊
@Javion Dustin warning to anyone who sees this comment. Do not fall for instaportal, it is a scam.
This was a great and helpful video! One of the most concise, clear, and educational hunting videos I have ever seen.
been hunting turkey for maybe 10 yrs now. That was the most training and information in processing the turkey I've had. Seems each have their own way abouts going at it. Thank you Michael! Appreciate you taking the time, and listening to your fans needs. Thats what seperates Bone Collector from the rest; personable and genuine professionals. I know for myself, I'd follow you through any piece of woods!
Are you dead mother******??
TY! Mr. Waddle!!😅 While I've turkey hunted for 50yrs, I sheepishly admit that I haven't cleaned as many turkey as you!! Congrats!! Watching you, I found room for improvement on beard removal! Again, TY!

Thanks for the great video. Havent been turkey hunting since i was 12 or so. This helped alot.
Hey Mike, we appreciate everything that you do. You have been a great inspiration for us in so many ways. Maybe one day we can hunt or share the same camp together. God bless all of you!
Harvest the dark meat. Cook in a pressure cooker for 90 minutes with game stock and mushrooms, the best turkey you will ever eat.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Whats game stock ?? Do u make it or dose it come like chicken broth
JT 1200 I make my own game stock and chicken broth. Basically you take the bones, cut them into chunks, be sure and use the joints with some meat and cartilage and what all left on. I’m talking deer and elk that I have harvested and butchered myself, or chickens I use the backs after processing them. Then roast the bones in the oven a bit, get them nice and toasty but not cooked. Then put them into a large pot with root vegetables, whatever sounds good to you. And set that to a low boil for about 24 hours. This will cook the bone marrow along with everything else and make a highly nutritious and delicious stock. Filter out all of the stuff and pressure can the liquid stock. I use the stock all year anytime I need liquid for cooking. You can find CZcams vids on how to make it to. Thanks for your message
Facts!!
@@mikekupper6222 a lil late but thanks cant wait to taste it sounds great

Really informative video bud. Thank you. Plan on going hunting with my daughter in a few years and I'm trying to get all the experience I can.
Haha and T Bone, I really enjoyed watching your videos during my military days when I also hunted big bucks with my bow. God bless the outdoors and you guys. Thanks for those times when I needed the outdoors and I could just pop in a dvd.
Well Waddy, I cleaned my first Tom this morning. Thanks to you the process was sweet and simple! My husband was very impressed! Ya'll come join us for dinner!

Thanh’s for the instructional video guys. Very nice!
Hey man, that was a really good video. Thanks for posting!
Thank you for this video. Very helpful!
Awesome. Everything I needed to know. Thank you Michael.
Just how my grandpa taught me. I love the fact that you cleaned a bird and did not even need to rag off your hands. That's skill right there. Very nice video.
Finally a decent instructional video thanks
Great how to video wish I had watched it first before cleaning my first turkey
We're going to be processing our 2 heritage tom's and I never thought about keeping the "fan." Showed the hubby your video and I'll be sure to have the salt ready to let that tail dry out! 👏
I did not know about pluckin the beard, I done everything else ur way but I nvr thought of that, thank u sir
Be careful doing that method. Did it on mine and my brothers turkey beards last year and they fell apart. Luckily I could save them and glue it back together but I won’t ever do it again. I stick to cutting some excess flesh and salting it which has never failed me.
@@Jwayne00 thanks for the info, I did it on 1 and I was too leary of it so I went back to cuttin, seems like excess meat holds better anyway
What is the point of taking the beard? Decoration?
@@jeffpacetti5800 decoration, to a turkey hunter the beard is the trophy, I make my own mount plaques and decorate with the feet, wings, tailspan, a popular thing with the beard is insert it in the end of the shotgun shell you used to kill it with
Great video. Much appreciated. 9 year old son just shot his first one. We appreciate the assistance.
I love this guy. Super successful but so down to earth! Thank you And keep the videos coming!
Nice job Mike. Thanks for the quick demo!!
Wow very informative! Thanks
Wife and I going on first Turkey hunt coming up. This video definitely help
The leg meat is amazing and there’s a decent amount even on seemingly smaller turkeys. 8 hours in the crockpot and you have BBQ pulled turkey. AMAZING.
DONT WASTE EM!
We just had three meals from just dark meat. I can't believe people say to just eat the breast! The dark meat tastes so good too!
Shawn yea it’s great
We don't like wasting meat. The legs are great, just have to cook them right
i agree... what a waste of a great animal
The Coyote Guy Share some videos of you eating a coyote then. I’m assuming you call yourself that for a reason.
Thank you mr. Michael
Thank you, Michael, for good information. I am a beginner, and this video is very helpful.

Thank you very much for this video.
Excellent video! 👍
Nice job thanks for sharing!
These are honestly all the things that I have done since I started Turkey hunting several years ago. Glad to see that someone I look up to in the hunting world does the same! One thing I'd recommend for the legs though, Waddy...slow cook them for about 5-6 hours and you can pull the meat and make amazing pulled Turkey leg sandwiches! Throw in any kind of your favourite seasonings or vegetables into the mix too and maybe a tiny bit of broth. You'll be amazed how much tender the leg meat really gets. Little to no waste and no messing around with the bones and tendons inside the leg as the meat will just come right off. Turkey season here in Ontario, Canada in about a month or so. I cannot wait to get back out there. Best of luck to all the Turkey hunters across North America and the world. Let's all self isolate in the best way possible by sending time in the great outdoors! Cheers!
Forgot to mention the hearts and livers...
