  • Tri-ang Railways R.358 Old Time locomotive “Davy Crockett” (c1962-65) returns to the station. R.155 Green Diesel Switcher (c1957) brings out a R.115 Caboose (c1959-65) on to the inner line. Then collects two R.117 Oil Tankers (c1955-58) and two R.114 Box Cars (1954-58) from the sidings to make up a short rake of TC freight. To be taken away by R.54 Transcontinental Pacific (c1956).

Hi David, I've been after one of these for a while. Found this on eBay at a sensible
price recently. Its defiantly been used. And I was very pleased to get it. I think they were only available in 1957. In that year they came in dark red with a white stripe, green with a white strip and yellow with a red stripe. Im also informed that there is a version from this year that has a smooth black roof!!! I don't have the yellow one. But I do have a much later yellow one with the black stripes on. Too many variations! and then theres the CN and CP variations etc.
Thanks for taking the time to watch again.

@@oscarpaisley And by the mid 1970s we had versions trying to look Australian. R308 NSWR Brown/Tuscan and R763 trying to look like a Victorian Railways T class T336. At $25.95 not many takers in Australia. By 1976 Lima were making close to scale near accurate models at cheaper prices. In Melbourne at the time Hornby prices had risen so much that Wrenn locomotives and rolling stock were cheaper than Hornby. eg Hornby Flying Scotsman $42.95 compared to Wrenn City at $41.00. This was at the largest train outlet of the Model Dockyard in Swanston St Melbourne.

Well, well, a green one no less.... : )
Having said that, the R54 stole the show again... :D
I'm glad you still include the loco sounds, under the music, the X04's are part of the Tri-ang charm. : )
    Regards, Cliff.

I agree that R.54 is a bit special. I'm trying to keep a balance with the music and the sound the locomotives (motors) and rolling stock on the track (crossing the point work etc). Defiantly all part of it as you say.
      Thanks for watching Cliff.
