  • How to grow snake plant from cutting in water.Learning how to propagate snake plants is extremely easy.Rooting a snake plant in water is one of the most fool proof ways to propagate it.
Rooting a snake plant in water
Begin by picking a container tall enough to house the leaf. Choose a healthy snake plant cutting, that is still quite young, and remove it from the existing plant with clean, sharp shears.
Once you have removed the cutting, place it in just enough water to cover the bottom quarter.
Once potted, place the container in indirect light and change the water every couple of days. In just a short amount of time, you’ll begin to notice a few new roots.

I didn't know about the aloe vera gel trick but I have already propagated my snake plant leaf and it's been two days, though I had seaweed extract and am using it diluted in water, will it work? Also, do these new propagations need sunlight while being kept in water or can they grow even indoors with normal indoor lights?

Maybe you placed the cuttings directly into water without waiting for a day Or two.
It area where you cut needs to heal first or it will absorb water. Wait for 2 3 days.

You can put a cutting of a pothos in the water with your snake cutting. Pothos secrete strong rooting hormones of their own. Watch a video on how to propagate a pothos cutting.
