Hello from America! Thank you, I just purchased two varieties of snake plant for the first time and I never knew all this about how to grow new ones. These are very expensive here to buy them in large pots but I got two very nice little grower pots, a 4” and a 6” one. The larger one has three plants and after I got it home I saw a tiny spot of green coming up at another edge of the pot - it is having a baby! The small pot has two little plants. Now after watching you I know how and when to make some new plants from these to put in larger pots. I’m so excited to have my snake plants!

I read an somewhere that in Tamil Nadu, historically, Sanseivera was grown near cremation grounds for it's air purifying quality. And because of this, a perception grew that it is not auspicious and was not grown near homes. So now NASA has to remind us of what our ancestors already understood.

After seeing your episode on propagation of Snake Plant I tried all the four methods, rhizome with shoot, leaf alone, rhizome alone, and cut leaf. After more than two months of patient waiting and caring as advised by you I have got wonderful results. I would be happy if I could upload the photos of the results. I was expecting the new shoots from the base of the leaf but the shoot has come out two inches away from a base of the leaf. In the cut leaf method also the baby shoot has developed about one inch behind the cut leaf. This success has boosted my morale in gardening.
    Thanks a lot

Thanks a lot for all your propagation videos. I think you have one of the best plant propagation videos on CZcams. For the propagation of this snake plant, most of the info that I saw on the net say that more or less the variegation disappears if they are propagated by leaf cuttings but in your example the variegation was retained. You seem to have done leaf cutting propagation several times, was the retention of the variegation a rare occasion for you too? Or was it a single leaf but with rhizome intact?

Thank you so much I really really enjoyed watching you make all those new plants from the snake plant. Absolutely amazing too. I’m sure going to try this out, I have a large snake plant in my bedroom and I’m sure I could get propagations from it too. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
