This video is meant to be a documentary style piece. The purpose of this is educational and is NOT made to glamorise any of the activities described in the video. This video was made intending to pay the most respect possible to the people effected by this and aims to deter people from following in similar footsteps.
The street life is a harsh reality. While you may love the streets, they certainly do not love you. Even innocent people get caught up in conflicts that have nothing to do with them. This is a sad story for everyone involved even if they themselves would not like to admit it.

I'm not from the UK.. But, where I'm from has an extremely high murder rate, a drill scene, and young buls who self snitch just to get their views up. Basically chiraqs younger brother! Yes there's drill, but my city has rappers just as gangster, just as affiliated, just as in the field who have never made any drill music. They never mention names, they don't self snitch, but iykyk. To me, it's social media point blank period. Look at how Twitter was back around the time keef started blowing up. Many killers would go on there and talk 💩, and they weren't rappers drill or not. It was for the clout, the spotlight, the fame that comes with social media, and the streets. Get rid of drill, and leave social media.. And see if the beefs, murders, etc go away or even reduce in rates. Just an opinion from an American, who grew up in one of the most dangerous cities in America!

This is insane. My own little brother doesn't visit me because i live in Beckton. At first i used to give him grief and say he doesnt care, him telling me about different areas and the troubles i used to think "yea right". But now i get it. We lost one of our cousins because of this. I'm saddened that people are waring over areas instead of trying to improve their surroundings for their future kids. Its sad, its keeping families apart.

You don't feel welcome to come back and enjoy the space without being bothered or with the risk of your life being taken. 6th is just Beckton not the whole of south side, 7th is just Forest Gate not the whole of north side. The general comprisal: South Side = Beckton (6th) and Custom House (16th), North Side = Stratford (15th), Forest Gate (7th), Plaistow (13th). Other areas included in either side like Manor Park, etc. and there has been internal divisions in each side but this is the rough outline of how it has been for over a decade.

I lived another side of this world. I was heavily addicted to substances for 15 years. And even in my quiet little town (not so quiet when your involved in drugs or crime). I lived in trap houses. My flat was a trap house for 5 months. All my close mates are dead and some locked up for county lines. Luckily I got clean 21st July 2020 I went to rehab.
So when you said at the end of the video there is a way out even when you think there isn't. There really is. Life Is beautiful 😍

Well produced video, I’m in my 40s grew up in Fulham, stabbing was still fairly rare, kids were robbing typhoons and gilera mopeds.

I think as well as drill music it's also a fashion issue. When I was growing up I was called a chav for wearing tracksuits and it was really only people who were on road who wore tracksuits, now everyone looks like a gang member even if they are school children or if they are going to the gym or coming back from work. If civilians stopped wearing road attire, I think a lot of the innocents would have been left alone. You have to remember when these guys are doing ride outs looking for enemies, they are essentially looking for anyone who matches the description of being from a particular area and dressing a certain way.
It has been happening way before drill unfortunately. Drill is just a platform for airing out their dirty laundry and self snitching. Violence between black youths and on council estates or deprived areas have been going on for generations

I’ve been born and bred in Newham all 42 years of life & firstly want to say I’m damn proud of being a Newham resident!! Secondly I ain’t heard of a single person mentioned in this video. Lastly I want to make clear that I’ve never felt threatened or been afraid living in Newham & don’t consider it dangerous. In fact I along with my family all feel safe in Newham coz the community are all full of love and respect. Suppose we all make whatever we want of things, treat others how we expect to be treated hence get what we deserve 🤷♂️

A place where you find the best narcotics in Newham meaning it brings certain clients In numbers, which can make peeps feel uncomfortable. But like I said me & my family feel very safe & comfortable living there along with the rest of Newham. However I do understand peeps will disagree and find it dangerous.
For all my fellow black people on here, you or ypur parents came here for a good life but if you find your kid picking up bad behaviour in the early teens 12 ,13, 14, if you see signs call up your folks back in Africa , carribean wherever and send these kids there in boarding school until they have a degree or atleast experience life differently, i know of some parents that never even have them tasting british life but enjoy a comfortable life back home
