CyA wrote Veronica, it's about a foreign girl with the same name that he had a crush on when he was really young, in kindergarten I believe, he went to an international school back then if I'm not mistaken. I think that's why Yonghoon has less lines here, it's a personal song about CyA's past, similar to Trauma (Aquarium), a b-side of theirs also by CyA based on a traumatic experience he had as a kid and his fear of water (which is why people were incredibly proud of him for filming Rain to Be).
If you want more upbeat and brighter songs from them with an MV do check 0&4 out (I was about to recommend Ring On My Ears but you already chose it for next week lol), it's very playful and fun. Q (feat. Hwasa) isn't necessarily bright like this but it has a sexier and smoother vibe as opposed to their more sentimental sound we get a lot of, which I can't complain about because Reminisce About All is my favorite title track of theirs and I still cry every single time lol
Fun fact because you mentioned it… according the the behind the scenes they filmed Veronica and Aurora in the same day.
I have a "I need to smile" playlist and this song is in there. I did watch the BTS of this and Aurora and they were filmed in the same place on the same day, just day and night so that is why they are so similar.
Actually the first time you saw Yonghoon with a guitar was in Universe 😜😜😜

but he almost has no other times when he played an instrument in the MV, I believe there are 2 more times: shaker in end of spring and piano in starlight (mas0094)
Veronica and Aurora are bsides on the same album which is "planet nine: alter ego" with Rain to be as title track
they were filmed if not on the same day then with a small difference in time, I believe this is the same park or smth
Veronica is written by Cya, in kindergarten he had a crush on the girl whose English name was Veronica🥺so it's about pure innocent kids' love, about how he wants an island just for 2 of them to express these feelings
sadly dongmyeong's keytar solo is not present in the official version (on music streaming platforms)
also fun fact: this keytar solo was added just a day before they went shooting

Thanks for reacting to Veronica! I certainly was one to hype it up, since it's my daughter's name and I'm glad it's associated to such a bright, feel-good song. You're right about Yonghoon taking a step back because this is Cya's song, as others have already explained. It's a pure song about childhood feelings. I love the keytar solo. I'm not one-hundred percent sure, but I think Dongmyeong put a variation on the Harry Potter soundtrack in there. It sounds like it and I believe it's intentional. It's always nice to get up in the morning and start the day with Onewe's Veronica!

The original ver. and live ver. of this song are totally different. You can feel real rock and heavenly voice of from Yonghoon in the live ver. Three and a half minutes of pure serotonin! The biggest disappointment though is that Dongmyeong's keytar solo is an MV exclusive and not in the album version. ☹️
Yonghoon played acoustic guitar in Universe but the group performance part is at the very end of the video so I don't blame you for forgetting about it tbh, especially because the rest of the video had so much more substance to it. All I really remember from that segment is how red everyone's hands and ears were because it was so cold.
Maybe consider doing some neck stretches before Ring on my Ears if you think you'll be prone to headbanging. 🙊

So happy to see this reaction! Veronica always makes me smile, it feels like an injection of pure sunshine. Especially seeing all of their smiling faces! Dongmyeong's keytar solo is definitely a highlight, I always feel slightly crestfallen me when I listen to the original version (before the MV came out) and the solo isn't in there.
And you're so right that everyone shines in Onewe! I absolutely love how they all come together to make the "Onewe sound." With any one of them missing, they still sound great, but just-not the same. Not Onewe.
