These hand cannons are called "píšťala" czech for "flute" (because they look like a flute), from that word comes word "pistole" in czech which was accepted worldwide as "pistol" (so... we can call them pistols. because they are the OG pistols). Basically, hussite wars gave the world the word "pistol". The game will be located in kuttenberg, kutná hora, which is mentioned several times in the KCD1, a major city near Prague known for mining silver. Spoiler alert - markvart von aulitz dies during the siege of Kuttenberg, but in reality it was in 1402, the game is set in 1403. So he might be purely fictional and it is not much of a spoiler because duh... The castle Trosky was also mentioned multiple times. It is beautiful castle in Czech Paradise. Never been there. (But I have been in Kuttenberg) The Czech Paradise is known for rocky towers like that. A lot of them are not big enough to house a castle, basically these two rock towers are the only two big enough for a tower to be built on top of them. It looks completely bonkers if you ask me.
Was in Kutná hora when i was kid and i still remember those silver mines people was smaller than on modern days in those those years you would have problem to walk normal in those mines cause they are small.
They also had an early form of artillery called the "Houfnice", which later gave name to the English Howizter.
Konrad Keyser calls them Rocketta in the first game
@thrustvectoring8120 There are many rock towers in Bohemian Paradise, which could house a towers or castles as can be proved by the fact there are lot of them to this day -> Hrubá Skála, Valečov, Valdštejn, Kost, Frýdštejn etc. Trosky rock towers are interesting because they are basalt towers, not sandstone as rest of the Bohemain Paradise, and therefore very different (they are not part of sandstone rock cities, creating top of a hill, not just part of it).

Appears a few times once next to Henry and Hans in the walls, later side by side with Hans, firing a crossbow with a Henry and at the end he's the one saying the "blow our arses off" line! I could never forget his ugly mug hahaha, wonder why he joins Hans party

Its hand cannon. It is pistol... it actualy had Czech name Píšťala (whistle) cause of the striking resemblence. The name stuck and spread... Thats how Pistols got their name. The name Píšťala ->Pistala -> Pistola however changed so little lol. It was named Píšťala by Hussites in Hussite wars used alot. The word Píšťala fit so well that Germans adopted it from Czechs... then French... then Italians... then Brits... then the whole world lol

Smithing will be in the game, we had that confirmed by Warhorse. The German audience got a little leak regarding the pistols, they said "They often exploded and maybe that is in the game" :D So i won't bet that it does never happen.
yeah I am not gonna put all my trust in the handcannons. on hardcore mode. internal bleeding to death due to a misfired hand cannon.
If that is included in the game, pistols will be a high reward high risk strategy

@@holextv5595I can definitely see that happening. Like how in KCD 1 until you got too about level 5 in archery Henry doesn't hold the bow properly so it's significantly less reliable to aim and fire from proper distance.

They were more likely bolts fired from a crossbow and it’s just the angle making them look longer than what they are. Also with how many scenes we are seeing of Henry and Hans together it’s almost making me feel like we are going to have a type of companion system where Hans or someone else follows you through the whole thing. That would be cool
2 people multiplayer... co-op game. comming as DLC I saw the plans when I visited their offices as a praxis for my University...

That would be ahistorical, Jan Hus spent the year 1403 in Prague, being a student of theology at the university (he already finished his previous studies at the Faculty of Arts) and since the previous year also a preacher and administrator of the Bethlehem Chapel in Old Town Prague. But we are almost certain to hear more about him.

@@CzechMirco yeah, especially since we're going to see an area as influential as Kuttenberg I wonder if perhaps we'll get a better look at the issue the eventually sparked off the Hussite wars. Considering that we'll face much more real and permanent consequences for trouble making I wonder if one of the ways to avoid it is to use your noble status and money to bribe officials to let you off.
@@kieranadamson3224 There could be some local spoiled rich clergy (where else than in Prague or Kutná Hora) and the issue of indulgences could also feature there. Also the nationalist element of husiite wars could be already present, since Sisigmund was considered to be more or less a foreigner (he ruled Hungary and invaded Bohemia with an army of foreigners) and also nationalism in those times was usually present only among lower nobility and city dwellers.

@@chrisj320ac3 Medieval france/england in the 11th/12th century or maybe the 100 year war in the 14th/15th. So many great figures from that time. Rockstars thing is being original though. They might reference some real people but they like created their own world. Creating their own medieval work could be a bit game of thrones like. Either way i'd eat it up.
You can indeed swim in plate armor irl. Its hard but its possible. Its actually harder to swim in gambeson because it soaks up all that water weight. Swimming with an additional 40lbs or 60lbs is hard but far from impossible.

I've done if myself with a brigandine and plate pauldrons and cuisses. Admittedly, I'm a pretty strong swimmer. But this casual could do it in mail.
@@zekeolopwi6642 yea but in real case scenario. you would be marching for miles in that heavy armor, then you would maybe fight for a while, then trying to run away already exhausted swim across a strong river.
FYI tha handcanon is Handrohr (handpipe) in german and it can explode in your hands ;) The starting ridiing scene is Hanry and Hans traveling to your destination (with a dog already in tow). Blacksmithing IS in the game, the ambush idea is about right i guess, he will be attacked, captured and loses all his possessions and might lose some of his abilities due to woundfever or something. They got two crossbow versions: hand crossbow which you can reload by hand and war crossbow which needs a winch. But hit someone, anyone, with that and that person is a goner.
based on what ive heard in interview with Toby done by polish gamer channel there should be 3 types of crosbows - small, fast reload lower DPS; mid which needs a tool for reloading; heavy war crosbow, also reloaded by some tool rly slowly, but with according DPS.
Regarding Pistala (handcanon) we may expect its usage as a secondary tool to mybe start a combat before switching to melee, or simply as a tool of a chaos / something what makes ppl run if their system numbers are low enough to be scared by such a thing, which works on horses as well. (dunno if this was mentioned by Prokop Jirsa in interview for Indian channel or again by Toby - I have seen dozens of reactions and several interviews already :D )

They posted a bunch of your historical takes on the Steam page for KCD on Sept 30, 2019 and I loved those videos a ton. What's odd is that if you go to the Steam page now that post is still up however all of those video links are now dead. What happened?

11:55 something i don't think people are noticing, look off in the background at the landscape to the top left, there's no mountain or forest to block that off, it just keeps going and going. unless directly behind this castle is the world border and the river or crevice is what stops the player from crossing it this map will be massive.

A content creator who played KCD1 for 1500 hours should've been contacted for the press event, no doubt. Then again I doubt Warhorse are in charge of their own PR anymore, being a part of Plaion/Embracer.

At 9:07 I assume it is a crossbow (you hear something mechanical for a split second before the shot), thus explaining why the bolts broke through his armor? Maybe I am wrong.

I’m doing a second play through now after this news dropped. I’m just like you, I felt like this game was made just for me. I slept on it so long and just played it a year ago. Man what a treat. Can’t wait to play the second one and I’m rioting if Theresa isn’t in it. I was a little disappointed when they said none of the old locations reappear but maybe since they have separate maps, maybe they can add a dlc where you can travel back to Rattay and Sasau and there’s new quests to do around there. I’d love to see the old map updated with these new graphics
The heraldic symbol on the shield of one of those soldiers on horses in 11:26 could probably be the older checkered flag of Croatia, since the other knights appeared to have Hungarian colors.
Maybe, although the first use of is record is about 90 years later. If it is indeed a croat he should be using the Dalmatian arms.
Bohemia was center of trade and more so Kutenberg... there is so many countries that 100% visited nowadays Czechia back then... god damn Silver in Kutenberg must have atracted a lot of countries to visit... it was one of the wealthiest cities of Europe..

But the crest did appear even earlier in Croatia too, during the reign of king Stjepan Držislav, theres also a pattern in Split (reign of king Petar Krešimir IV.) and on st. Lucy church in Jurandvor (reign of king Dimitar Zvonimir).
At 9:05 you can see he is only using a gambeson. I don´t know if a longbow could still do that to two layers of gamberson plus the torso.

I think Capon was in the prison because he was bailing Henry out. That was the feeling I got from that scene. And I bet it will affect their relationship if he has to do that. I will play Henry as I always play: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Being nice to nice people and who deserve it, but an asshole to assholes. That is what gets me 60/40 Paragon/Renegade in Mass Effect every time. 😂
11:45 the crest is similar to Columns of Gediminas from Lithuania. We can see people with lithuanian shields. It is strange because I couldn’t find any information about lithuanians in Sigismund army.

20:47 I'm really glad you pointed this out because this clip is what got me super excited for the game. One of the nit-picks I had for the first one, and this is a really small detail, was when you got out of combat you'd raise tour visor up, but when you talked to an NPC it would still be down which always irked me. So the fact that they took the time for that small detail really tells me this game is gonna be Kingdom Come 2.0, which is what all sequels should be.
Someone pointed out to me that they actually liked that because otherwise we'd never get to see our helmet with the visor down (besides the menu) since it's only in first person. So now idk how to feel about it. I guess it hasn't been confirmed you'll actually raise your own visor or not yet.

Welcome Back! I was disappointed as well, but I've never been good at the networking side of social media. I just focus on producing content. Hopefully I'll see something from them when we get closer to the game release. Early Access would certainly not be unappreciated.

I wish they'd add specific body parts which could be injured for example the mace hit here 13:48 should have injured his arm so bad he should not be able to raise it and the knee shot combo should have made the other guy unable to stand for a while.
Would have been very cool for you to be a voice actor for a guard or something in the game. Or an armor smith, given how much armor content you do.
Maybe they will change the 3 arrow scene, they just need to cut the points in the back of the guard and it will be all right, either way it doesn't bother me that much but it is kind of peculiar that they choose to do it that way, maybe was for the trailer only, there's still time for them to change minor things.

Love Kingdom Come: Deliverance so much. This became all i care about for at least the next year or two.
This was a good video, but I have a few comments to make, not as critiques but to add to what you have already said.
Although spinning in combat is heavily discouraged, the way Henry did it can be made in such a way that it would not present a vulnerable point that can be exploited by the opponent. The video was in slow-motion but at full speed it is surprisingly fast. Also, he did it against a dazed opponent who was just previously hit in the head and that half-spin helped to create momentum against his hit to the leg. I have also seen sparring videos where similar moves were executed successfully. It could potentially be exploited by the soldiers behind him, sure, but the camera also makes them look closer than they actually are. In the 1st person perspective, they seem to be 5-6 meters away from where he lands after the spin, far enough so that he has time to turn around and concentrate on them.
Concerning visors and full face helmets in general, the thing is that from what we can see in illustrations and written accounts, from the great helm to the burgonet, knights and men-at-arms oftentimes preferred to fight in the melee with their face exposed. They would be used in the charge almost every time but after that many would prefer to raise their visor, or take off their great helm and rely on the cervelliere when the great helm was still in use. The ability to breathe properly is an important factor, as you mentioned, but there is also the improved spatial awareness, of the opponents in front of you and the ever changing battlefield conditions around you; and improved hearing, of orders and various other things.
The rise of smaller studios (Larian, Warhorse) will be the the best thing I've seen of the industry in the last two decades. Also I'll send Dan n McKay a quick email on yur behalf 😂
Edit: Companions would be very amazing. Not that I would ever replace the bestest boy. I want to see more about the combat (mainly how they have dealt with the multiple opponents vs single opponent) & alchemy. It was already quite nuanced in kcd n I loved discovering shortcuts to recipes and seeing my alchemy book updated with said "shortcuts". Also possibly the best meaningful mini-game that was very relaxing. I could've literally fallen asleep to Henry making potions, just to wake to the sound of Henry screaming and putting fires out 😂
Gotta say that part where Henry is standing over someone and he was clearly shot by a crossbow...I think they killed hans...

I’m so hyped man, I played the first one like 500 hours. That’s how I discovered your channel. I played kcd so much I can pretty much play full on quests in my head lol and I know like all the roads and such by memory. I’m sure your probably the same way 😂. Lookin forward to the future drip videos. Idk how they’re going to beat the feeling of the first one. It’s going to be weird not starting as a peasant for me. As weird as it sounds that realism it has that your just a nobody made the game so much more immersive and fun, because I am also a nobody lol.

It may be different in the US, but in Britian when i hear 'dark ages' I think of post Roman pre norman conquest so 500-1066. I dont know whether the term is used on the continent. The native britons/celts and the invading saxons/angles/jutes werent a particularly literary bunch and we only have a few sources to go on and what was compiled by Bede. So yeah I always thought of the early middle ages as the 'dark ages', not the rest. Your point about enlightenment thinking and painting the medieval times as pure brutality is incorrect (to put it mildly). Love your video, you've gained a new subscriber! :)
It is more about how is medival often described at films especialy. Sometning like medival grey filter with mud, depressions and poverty, or other example all this yellow filter in parts of film in Mexico and Middle east. I think that there is memes about it.

I mean the fact the name of the town is Kutná hora or Kuttnberg is so funny to me. There was silver mining right? Well thats literally the name of the City... Kutná = Mining, Hora = Mountain. AND in german its literally Kutten = to mine, Berg = hill/mountain. Sooo... Mining Mountain? coll name lol. And at that time Germans and Czechs lived together a lot... I would guess Czechs came up with Kutat(Kutná) word first. but I am not an ethymology guy... and the literal interpretation of Kutná hora would be Minable Mountain. What is blud rambling about right? 😀
Yes as the some sort of mining was there before German migrants In 13th century so I guess name can be local but it doesn't matter as both names mean literally the same.

I’ve seen in another video that they are currently still working on getting the game up to 60fps on consoles, but it’s likely the game will be 30fps.
This is kind of disappointing and may actually push me toward getting a £2k gaming rig.
Thts fine rather have good graphics then looking lik first game
meh, movies are 24fps, if its a stable 30fps without lag spikes and such then i dont mind it
