This is my version of " The only thing they fear is you" from the Doom Eternal soundtrack composed by Mick Gordon. The original track uses 8 string guitars, and its in the key of Eb. For this version I am using a 7 string, and I changed the key to D.
It is one of my favorite soundtracks, and I wanted to create my own version of it. I re-made every instrument of the original track for this video, and that's why I took so long. I had a lot of fun and I also learned a lot from listening closely to the Mick Gordon's mix.
As always, the tabs are on Patreon and if you're struggling to learn it, send me a message through Patreon, and I will be happy to help!

Let's all take a moment to appreciate Mick Gordon
mick Gordon hype train starts here... ALL ABOARD
Damn I'm proud of the metal community
You meant to say MIKE Gordon.
Daddy Mick Gordon is a god amongst men.
And the Alex terrible version💪🏻
The only thing they fear is riffs
riff and snare
Until it is done.
They say, Doomslayer found shotgun once, and killed 50 demons with it
Then he found ammo
According to the lore, he doesn't need guns, he just finds them enjoyable. The in-game berserk power up is his classic way of killing demons.
@@Canilash wow, i didnt even know that
@@Canilash whats funny is that even the berserk mode isnt truly how he fought the demons. Dude literally moved at light speed while demolishing demons.
LMAO 🤣🤣🤣
no way you just made me laugh at a slightly altered chuck norris joke in 2022
Lets not also forget that the music for the game was made to be interactive, so the song would play out differently depending if you were in combat or not and regardless what you're doing in the game, it still slaps
That's the most impressive part to me, I'd love to know exactly how they're able to seamlessly transition and link and loop and extend all those separate parts
@@OfficiallyMaidenless i believe there are some interviews mick gordon did on that but if I remember right basically he had to write transitions between any two parts of a “song” that would be used together. I believe the programming for different parts is based mostly on enemies in proximity, how many enemies you are chaining, and health
@@OfficiallyMaidenless i mean, this idea of music morphing with play has been done (to some degree or another-i remember "the chaos engine"/"soldiers of fortune" doing something like it back in the 90s, even). not to say its implementation in doom '16 isn't impressive, especially given the complexity of the score… but it isn't quite as novel as you might think.
Not only was that was an excellent playthrough, but I really appreciate that you included the full arrangement, highlighting the individual instruments. Moments I never noticed the value of you draw attention to., like the drum pattern changes and subtle synth in the background duet over the main guitar melody. This was lovely to see today. Thank you 🔥
guy knows his stuff!
Factual! ✨
I did not expect to get such a good game while I was buying this album ngl
When yall hear this... I just want you to remember.. the directors told him they didn't want guitars on the soundtrack and he said.... well what if it sounds like this? And they loved it
source? bcs that sounds like some bullshit
@@martingarricks6209 czcams.com/video/U4FNBMZsqrY/video.htmlsi=aap5YjAm4U3bBG11 it's an hour long interview thing where he talks about it
@martingarricks6209 look up DOOM: Behind the music... I tried to post a link to it but the comment got deleted.. it's mick Gordon's experience on working on the doom soundtrack.. he talks about it in that.. it's like an hour long
@@Ninkitsue mad. i wanna know what fkn idiot said for there to be no guitars on it so this’ll be a fun watch
THAT WAS FUCKING TOTALLY WORTH 2 DAYS! THANK YOU!
Dude are you the "shoot me in the face" guy?
@@j_lemy bruh man, im sorry but i cant fully understand you. english is not my native language :) what does the phrase "shoot me in the face" mean? i dont think i got you right
@@j_lemy who's that?
@@j_lemy borderlands 2 enjoyer
@@F4sy Bing bing
The precussive HEAVY overtone just makes the entire soundtrack feel like the heartbeat of the game ESPECIALLY when the music fades and then comes in during combat its amazing
Spent two days? Let's watch it twice to make it worth
0:40 that's just such a wicked sound
I love when in the chorus riff on the last bar they just play the intro riff instead of playing the chorus riff 4 bars. Sounds so clean
This will prob be your most successful video to date. 7/8 stringers doing Doom stuff is always huge and you always deliver quality.
i was scrolling through instagram, saw one of your videos about buildup and realised it kinda sounds like Doom. My brain itched to see the soundtrack being played on a guitar, i got to YT, searched and this vid was the top recommenation. W piece
Some things just don’t need to be recorded, produced, or uploaded.
Then there is this. The internet is forever.
And you have forever given mankind an amazing gift.
We all say thank you.
Thank you Mick Gordon for blessing us with Doomcore🔥💯🤘

So well done 👏🏻 one of my all time faves from your channel 🤘🏻
That was awesome bro, love the little additions too
you are incredible man, youve helped me to appreciate music even more.
I joined your Patreon because of this video! Been following you for about a year now. Thanks for all of your hard work!
this cover is insane, well done dude
That riff a 4th down hits so fucking different 🔥
Facts, and the hardwork put into this track and playing, legendary 🙌 👌 👏 💯
Hell yeah brother. This is the only Patreon I have ever signed up for cuz it's such a good deal! Thank you.
Bro, what an absolute beast of a mix. You killed this shit!
This revived my love for this song!
I find especially the last section of the track to be amazing. The simple 8-1-6-5 melody ontop of the main riff fits perfectly👌
It was worth it! So awesome! Killer recording!
so friggin awesome, you are the coolest
So informative thanks for doing this!
Definetely one of the coolest vids on your channel! Really like the format of longer songs with other instruments. Harder and longer to make, but the work pays off
it all builds so perfectly
I can't express enough, how much I like this video. Daaayuuuuuuuuuuum! 🔥🔥🔥
I actually don't understand how you can be that good at the guitar
By Putin in time 😛

A fantastic example of how important good backing audio is for any media, and video games in particular. This soundtrack makes you _want_ to rip and tear.
Super sick bro keep doing what you do
