10.35pm Monday night. I LOVED the original Come Dancing. I actually managed to see Donnie and Gaynor perform 3 times, twice at the Scottish Open and another time at The Shed in Glasgow. They were brilliant. 🥰
Enjoyed watching this. Good to see Angela Rippon presenting, I think she was great as a presenter in it and still going strong today. I'm told she was a dancer (as well as other talents such as news journalism, BBC and TVam) so very fitting to be presenter. She's so well presented, very well spoken, easy to listen to down to earth and soothing! The voice over during the dancers is recognisable as a one of the general BBC continuity announcers between programmes, with that admirable esteemed authoritative signature Shepherds Bush White City (I suppose) TVC register! Seems like several of this show's concepts found their way into Strictly, which I also love. Come Dancing though has the unique selling point of showcasing very very well accomplished 'ordinary' folk, from all over the country. And how contemporary it is with group numbers including Thriller and All That Jazz (given the exposure with Chicago running in recent years). This video doesn't look like Blackpool, so what was the venue?
In case you're still wondering about the venue, I believe it may be the Bournemouth International Centre. They certainly filmed some series' there (and it still hosts UK championships :) ) If you enjoyed watching Angela Ripon hosting, look up the dance she did with Sammy and Shirley Stopford to the sing 'Angie Baby' :)
i far enjoyed the show back then as to the newer modern one i wondered if someone would be able to name the music each dance is being danced to in the first formation team of midlands and west i know jailhouse rock and body rock but help with the others would be appreciated many thanks

Why don#t people hate Italians since they murdered him? Why do the nuns cry when the Pope diees, surely he's a good bet to get into Heaven. Shouldn't it be a celebration? God : hmmm let me think. For the first 200 miliion years i'll have a reptile egg laying lizard type animals in ascendancy but then for the next 100,000 years some mammal type beings at the top of the food chain! Heck, they could run their existence on the fossiled remains of the ancient lizards etc. I bet that will go bad eventually though, burning 200 million years of liquid sunlight in 150 years. Onto the next beings to take over, why not some ocean based animals?
